iv hves seen some shxt workmanship in my time but i think this beats the lot, cut one side of the door and attach the hinges first the door will fit better and grind the paint off before welding for a better weld. and grind the pigeon shxt weld's down afterwards, and painting it, would make it look more presentable
Not sure if this will help me get the new glass (sans brass coated bit at the bottom) into my MK Triton with manual winder, but at least gives me some clues! Cheers for throw this up all those years ago!
I have done a few styles of heaters and burners the main tip I can give is take your time open the valve all the way and leave it over night then unscrew the valve fill half way with water wand shake it the bottle pour the water out and then fill it right to the top and leave for 2 more days then put your hole in the top first or wherever you want you chimney. To make sure there is no gas left you can light a rag and put it over the hole while it’s still full of water and you should be safe to continue. Please always use common sense and protective equipment.
would have been better without the kids screaming as they do sound very feral and uncontrollable and the camera would have been better not shaking so much
LoL I'm so glad it helped, I was sick as a dog making that vid. I new there was nothing on the web to help, so I felt I had to record the info. All the best.
That was a great video. I found that super interesting. The reason was because although they had me and my brother taking their jackets off at a young age I've never come across the level of preservation or prep you guys were speaking of. Good going. Mark
Hello i wanted to wish you a very happy thanksgiving and i hope its filled with smiles, laughter , and love of friends and family. And i hope you have lots to be thankful for in the future.
Yeah bummer regarding the knife, I gave it to my ten year old to play with. Iff you look on my home page it should be there.. "larsen trap in action". That's the vid name.
No greater time of the year.If i had the money! i'd buy a woodland and live in it.Just imagine what it would do to your worries and stress levels,it would cancel them out and reset you to what we should be living by,if that makes sense!
Hickory is tough but it splits like hell. I have a shed full of split handles. The second axe may be Ash, slightly softer than Hickory, but less prone to splitting.
I find it really ironic how people in favor of these traps justify it by claiming that Magpies are vermin that mercilessly slaughter songbirds and keep their populations low. Now replace Magpie with human and songbirds with mother earth and re-read. I also wonder how many people who claim the songbirds populations have rebounded have actually gone out and done a proper study or just seen what they want to see. Not saying Corvids aren't mean - I've seen the local crows work together to distract a momma goose to steal one of her goslings, drop it repeatedly into concrete while pecking it to death and then tearing it to shreds right in front of her. But then again, ever been to a slaughterhouse? I can't help but think that people who label Corvids as vermin just don't like the uncomfortable truth that they are just as bad, or worse in the case of people who use traps like this.
Teesquared00 I see what your saying. I suppose you need to spend a good few years in the countryside to understand that we are part of the ballance. I love all creation and try to gather most of my food I also purchase free range. Even plant life has some style of feelings. Even poisons plants that will kill you without concern.
The reason i want one of these is quite clear and reasonable one. I feed the small birds, songbirds finches etc. Robins coming eating out of my hands as i put out the feed. And the moment i go indoors the vultures come calling. The bloody magpies come and wreak havoc. And by hook or by crook they will go. They shall be caught mercifully and they shall be killed mercifully. I must get one of these traps. Just started building a Ladder trap. The more the merrier :-)
Just found this, Magpies a bit of a problem here... looking for about 10 traps, wheres a good place to get them, they look incredible...By By Magpie!! Whoo Hoo!!
Your welcome, I noticed that there wasn't anything online about it so I knocked this guide out. Glad it helped John. I'll be doing some more L200 stuff this Spring.
Nice work HalfQ. I hate magpies. I have no desire to see them hurt or inhumanely killed. They are intelligent birds and can't help what they are. However, they are a pest and it's clear to me how their numbers have become a problem. When I was a kid seeing a magpie was a rarity. Now they're all over the bloody shop. Much to the detriment of the song birds that you used to hear in suburban gardens of the UK. All you can hear now is the horrible squawk of the crow or magpie.
