The supercharger was great.. The car needed things done.. the lifters in afm engin are known to break.. to put lifters in the heads have to come off and needed a new cam.. plus needing a new fuel pump for the supercharger I was looking at bout 9k just for supporting mods and maintenance.. so I decided to sell the supercharger and put money back into the car.. it ended up making the car more reliable and complete without draining my savings account.. plus put a couple grand away aswell.. I should have canned it and put the manifold on to begin with tell you the truth..
There’s no videos for the rack I seen you posted you’ve done it. Mind me asking how you got it out like if you slid it out the wheel well or replaced it while motor out or dropped subframe ect.
Thanks legend.. no head work and not 💯 on cam specs.. my mate that fitted it all has a lot of experience with Ls and has a vp commodore in the 9s so I just done what he wanted.. it seems the cam, manifold and throttle body just work really well together.
Great vid mate. Good to see the tuner refining the afr with each pull. What you lose through the mid range with those holley intakes compared to what you gain at the top isnt worth it imo, especially when the car is a manual. If it was auto with 4.5k converter its not a problem.
Hey mate, thanks for commenting.. I appreciate.. the car is auto.. standard converter.. it is tight on the converter down low.. but still very drivable, only slightly pushing on the brake, but I will put a 3k in it as recommended by tuner.. with power it’s hard for me to gauge as I sold the harrop 2300 off it and went this route.. we decided to go with standard throttle body with the single plane over a tunnel ram as they have a lot bigger planem size.. the tuner was impressed with how the manifold worked with cam that was chosen and using the standard throttle body..
Not blaming anything.. blower combo wasn’t finished obviously with no fuel pump.. but a good and surprising comparison… especially when your talking 1 set up cost 7 and the other coast 13k..
Nice 👍🏻 makes me miss my ve Ute, it was poison ivy as well. Had it cammed, a cold air intake and exhaust and it was running 435whp. Was a fun thing to drive. Hopefully my new build makes 1600hp lol
What you mean mate.. the last combo was harrop 2300 with 650cc injectors. This set up na 730cc And not loving life, but going away next week for cam and tune.. so hopefully 🤞🏽 all well afterwards
@gearheadindustriesmedia6890 injector data is way . 650 last time and and 730 cc now. Thats why its running rich. All comes down to injector duty cycle and in injector latency
I really want to learn more bout all this.. would love to be able to tune or have it tuned and have software that alows data read out, especially at events
Yeah new look and the car needed things.. dod lifter needed binning, so cam kit was needed, i thought I’d start again. I want to hit the pad again and just want a touch little streeter.. 400 is enough. Thanks for comment, the episode will only get better 🙌🏽
@@gearheadindustriesmedia6890 sounds rad looking forward to the next vids. I’ve got a cammed ve ss Ute also that’s how I came across your channel. Awesome times ahead.
