I love that the majority of tierings are essentially "can this unit get wyvern and how much investment does it take to get it" with the exception of Azura
@@AstraProc before the 3ds shutdown, you could get it early by visiting castles online and buying one from the Hoshidan lv3 accessory shop. Nowadays, you either hack it in or you have to wait til the point of the game where it unlocks naturally (only in br and rev)
it's cool that I can do this but it takes an UNREAL amount of storage even just for this barely edited 15 minute video so don't expect stuff like my long-form FE stuff to be higher than 1080p still
37:47 I remember seeing dragon veins being used in the ninja forest chapter, so if they're allowed, you could've triggered the dragon vein on the left, which would allow Beruka to escape out of the Berserker's range.
Dude I did this map on a no special seal run (can only use master seals for promotions) and it was the absolute worst map iv ever done. People who say birthrights is easy I swear did not play this map or the end game legit
Can't believe this run is finally almost finished! I actually love the opening phase of this map when you're fighting against walls of powerful enemies who are flanking your army. Not a huge fan of the Entrap stuff, though.
Reinforcement spam is probably my biggest beef with Fire Emblem games. It doesn't make the game harder, just more tedious. When you have a setup to counter them and their spawns, they are effectively just time sinks. Later games even give them a skill that prevents you from obtaining Exp from them, meaning they literally exist to just be an annoyance. I'm not against reinforcements being triggered by player progress, those make sense from a lore perspective (calling up reserves, setting an ambush, etc.), but when the chapter spams enough units to form an entire army on their own, there's a problem (Camilla's chapter in Engage had so many units, the game literally starts dropping frames). I hope later installments claw this mechanic back. One of Engage's biggest flaws was precisely this problem, so hopefully the devs took note and decide to scrap this mechanic.
I think Mozu is fairly easily the worst unit in Birthright because at least the other candidates mentioned (Setsuna, Hana, Hisame, Selkie) give meaningful stats on pair up at base that allow others to contribute even if they can’t. Hana and Setsuna are almost definitely better at this as really good early speed pair ups for units like Silas or Saizo, but that’s not to discount how Hisame’s personal +2 def regardless of his mother is really nice for female gen 2 carries like Mechanist Mitama even in Samurai (but especially so if changed over to Oni) and Selkie provides an effectively immediate +6 Spe pair up at C support in Ninetails which is appreciated by units like Shiro or Midori. Mozu by contrast just gives Skl, Lck and +1 Spe at A support, so her support role cannot make up for her poor combat until she either is Heart Sealed (and just is worse than Setsuna) or grinded up to Merchant which like is fun but so much effort for a dedicated backpack when an Oni gives Str/Spe for much less effort.
Gotta say, you really changed my mind on vantage mages with this Rhajat. I never tried it because my mages could never kill in one hit (or with a dual strike) so they would always end up dying, but on my recent Conquest run I thought “fuck it” and invested a shit ton into Izana. Married him to Corrin with a cavalier talent to get him luna and then got him vantage and life and death and he became a menace, especially after getting tomefaire as well. It became entertaining to just throw him in a pool of enemies and have him one-shot everything in sight. It became especially hilarious because he crits and procced skills a lot and his crit lines are completely unhinged💀 All this to say, invest in Izana y’all it’s worth it. He did better than my Elise!Ophelia with the same skills bar luna and tomefaire but with a higher magic cap.
I beat this map on hard a few days ago. It felt impossible at first, but got way more managable when I struck the balance between playing less defensively and not overextending.
