Great video. However when I go to select the text,, in the command line it says 0 selected. I followed your example for the text style and format settings. I don't know what is wrong. I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2025.
A few years ago you or your brother created a label style that directly accessed county GIS info (or .SHP file data) and created a label automatically. Is there anyway you could direct me to that video or create another one? Here is what I am looking for: I need parcel information such as Owner, Address, PID and maybe Acerage for existing parcels that I may access through a .SHP file from the county. The county has all that information attached to their .SHP file, I just don't know how to get it into my drawings without doing it all by hand meticulously. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! You guys are the best!!!! Thank you soooooo much for all of your help over the years!!!
Hi Jerry, I'm encountering an issue with the "Station Offset Report." When I create points that were not generated using the "Station Offset Points" command, the report sometimes works correctly and includes these points. However, in other cases, it randomly omits the points that were not created using this command. How can I resolve this?
Hi. How would you create a new linetype with 2 parallel lines? Multiline tool isn´t an option, bc I need a new linetype to apply to several lines already drawn in the dwg. TIA.
Hi. I know how to make new linetype with shapa and it works ok. On my computer. When i send my drawing or only .lin file to someone, its not working. Is it because od shape or what i have to do that linetype will work on everyone computer? Thank you.
Hi Jerry.. not sure if you provide answers through comments like this on your channel but I've been trying to troubleshoot an issue. I've been using a DJI Mini 4 Pro to fly and capture geotagged photos autonomously with no base station and when importing into Recap Photo, even though the stitching is clean and I select the 'real world' coordinate system upon import for processing with multiple GCPs (north, easting, and elevations assigned), whenever I export to any format (xyz, PLY, PTS, etc), the X, Y, and Z end up stripped out and are defaulting to 0. Any idea where in the process that the coordinate system is getting lost?
Wrong. Output is Grade: 0.00%, Slope: Horizontal, Horiz dist: 97.68'. The input was from my data. Unfortunately, no bearing. I gave you a thumbs up because you meant well.
Good Afternoon. Is there a way to create a table that includes all the parcel site information but also includes the following; Finish Floor Elev, Garage Slab Elev, Underside of Footing Elev., Lot Corner Grades, Front & Rear Elevations
What can you do if AutoCAD Civil 3D will not allow you to open a Data Source Table? I loaded an .mdb file into my task pane, but cannot open or edit that table once it is loaded in.
At 3:50 you actually CAN and SHOULD use the same line file name as before ... it will ask if you want to overwrite, click YES an procede. It will overwrite the existing file with one that has the new linetype appended to your previous custom line types, automatically accomplishing "turning everything into a single linetype file" instead of copying and pasting at 11:18. Also, if you decide to redo one of your custom linetypes, you can do the same process aagain using the same name as the linetype you wish to redfine and say Y to overwriting, it will overwrite just the one custom linetype within your custom linetypes file. Another note, if you want indicate inches in a custom linetype file, for something like this --- 12" --- for instance, you have to use two single quotes like this '' instead of one double quote " or you could define a custom shape. If you define a custom linetype with with arrows for flow direction and when you use it on a polyline and it is pointing the wrong direction, you can use REVERSE command on the polyline to change the direction of the custom linetype.
Amazing, Thank you for the valuable Video, general Question please: where do you see using this type of analysis in GIS vs Civil 3D? They sure Overlap?
