Beautiful music. I must’ve been in the fifth or sixth grade when this song came out. My older siblings used to listen to this stuff, but I loved it too. This music is much better than the junk They have out now.
If you don’t know you don’t where you came from go ahead and think you invented rhythm and blues understand your passed that’s the only way to your future
Songs like this are off the beaten path, and a trip into the time machine m, great tune, the other one I heard recently that took me right back to the mid 70’s was “Does Your Moma Know About Me” Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers 😎✌🏽
Back in the days this song along with I wanna go outside in the rain , them days will last in our memories those that experienced them house parties falling in love for the first or second time or getting our heart broken it was great to be young , and I love a child grows up today somebody who just loves to burn , ha who remembers that line. It’s a family affair ! Who would have know that a 1/4 pint of Nr. Boston blackberry brandy and a cigarette and joint would have lead me to a toad of destruction but thank God I’m over 33 yrs 4 months clean today and can look back on those days of innocence.
A wonderful piece of Music. I was playing guitar for some boys called the "Drells" from Wheatley high school, in Houston and I had just graduated. The lead singer just drafted, heading to Germany we had been in a local studio and had recorded several songs with Skipper Lee Frazier; the group had begun to drift apart at this point. We all loved this song and these guys. I did not know that one day I would be sitting in the same studio in Philly on S. Broad Street talking to Eddie and others on that label. I still love to hear these guys sing this song...man man...many memories right here!!! Clennis High
