One of the Greatest Ballads from the 70s. It was recorded in 1972 and has basically been forgotten along with the group from New Jersey. Listen to the tight harmonies.

The best of the 70's I was 14 yrs old this song came out. basement parties. just being a kid having fun no fighting ..these kids today need to go back in time!
It doesn't bother me that people dislike this song, or music from that era. I LOVE it. Those of us who were kickin' it back then can relate. It's our thing....they wouldn't understand, and I wouldn't waste time trying to convince them.
Wow 😳 every time l listen to these songs it brings me back to my times as a young Gurl growing up in Harlem New York l dance to all of these songs Nd even my 9 kids are into these oldies but goodies yu will never hear music like this again it's a darn gone shame songs has meaning to it hope yu enjoy them like l did...
One of the highlights of my life occured while in the 9th grade and one of the prettiest girls in the neighborhood danced with me to this record. I was shy as hell but she gave me a thrill I will never forget. Oh sweet, sweet soul music.

The greatest times. When life was so fun watching our parents and neighbors love and help one another. I smile and cry when I hear this music. It was the best!!!!!!
I am so thankful to have lived during this era....the 70's, yes this time belonged to me! I experienced it all! Just wish my children could have been touched by the respect and idealism that this era conveyed! Long live the 70's!

thats right aka american music its too bad white america embraced the british but the british embraced us those whom soul music originated from black americans
This was the jam I was in High School at that time. That was the time when men sang love songs and it would make you feel so good inside. I feel sorry for this generation of young people that don't get to experience that kind of music. You also had to be able to SANG not sing
When I came across this song I thought all these yrs I was dreaming of the lyrics!!! I remember hearing this in the early 70's with my cousin at a May Day in Wilmington NC...The percussion from this song has rung in my head for yrs...#dreamsdocometrue
Just brings tears to your eyes knowing that those were the best times ever. Family was for real and everything also our young generation got along so well no guns.
Needlessly ignorant comment. Real musicians understand and appreciate the depth of hip hop (for example, David Bowie, Gill Scott Heron). If you don't get it, just say you don't understand. If you can go and listen to Kendrick Lamar's "u" and tell me there's no musical talent involved you're just being willfully ignorant and limiting your own enjoyment of music. Rather than being an elitist, keep an open mind.
OMG This beautiful classic just move your soul in the right direction do you agree Anna? When real music speaks for itself timeless indeed AMEN!! I will always have ode skool music in my blood 4EVER!!Still listenin how about July 21 2019 MEMORIES WOW!
There are artist who write and record music now, but the artist and song writers of the 60s and 70s just can't be touched. The music back then has so much meaning.
I remember being at a flea market about 15 - 20 years ago. A guy was selling CDs with old school jams on them. I told him " I bet you don't have this one" and started singing Body and Soul. I didn't know the name of the group and wasn't sure of the name of the song - only that I loved it. Thank goodness he had it on one of his tapes and I bought it. LOVE this song and this group
For the last 25 to 30 years, I've been looking high and low for songs that I hadn't heard since I was a kid, and this is one of them! This was when people really knew how to put a good ballad together! You don't see that these days!
Seems we lost our way according to the "music" of today. I stays on track with the music of yesteryear, that's what was and will always be happnin'...respect.
The early 70s was the best music ever I'm glad I grew up in that era of music they don't make it like this anymore still sounds good wonderful memories here
There was this period between the end of the 60's soul influence and the beginning of funk (1971 to about 1974) that was filled with great, great male vocal groups and the Soul Generation was one of the best. Don't forget to take a listen to another great song by these cats entitled "Million Dollars"...
This song along with if I had a million dollars, could never be forgotten by me, that's why I'm here. Sounds just as good today as it did decades ago. Thanks for posting!
There will never be another 70's soul music era , these were truly the best of times.... If it were only possible to time travel back to this era again. Who's coming with me?
AFRICASDAUGHTER the 70's soul music era is like a lost relic.Dinosaurs.True cosmic galactic soul essence of the first people that god made in the image of himself?! Man I wish I had a time machine???!!!!
Groups like this Blue Magic, The Delfonics, Black Ivory etc. were everything back then. So glad I got to enjoy them in real time when they were in their prime.
I remember my friends and I formed a singing group called the soul cookies in Harlem, NY, this was one of the songs we sang. It brings back great memories
Born 1961 my older sisters and brothers hold it down and I introduce to many of old school music that groom my taste in music and my mother and father i i thank them dearly
it's in the bones...people of color were given gifts, jewels that are rare and go back in time ! Maybe only a visit to ancient civilizations can unearth them!

@@paulkyser1452 Thanks for the info, man. Hoping you'll give me a pass on the mix-up. Those are the only artists listed in the credits on "Discogs" site. The good news is at least they listed all your contributions correctly. Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving. Will edit comment accordingly.
Music like this can never be duplicated this is true true music from the heart Body and Soul where you can really feel it down deep and it makes this feels so good to be with the one you want to be with the one you love
This song was sent to me by a man I fell in love with 30 years ago ..we reunited on August 26, 2022 This is the only relationship I have had in 30 yrs...the only man I ever loved...I am grateful that God brought us back together...God bless our relationship...God bless our LOVE...A new beginning....He sends music like this to me very often... ..
these songs remind us of a time when there was still an exciting future and the opposite sex was still something forbidden and mysterious and to be respected and held in awe.....this song is a mind blower
The entire album takes me back when things were soooooo mellow. Love this song. Makes you drift back, when you were in your lover's arms and the two step was the dance. Thanks Stylistics for making life just a little better. OH FOR THE GOOD TIMES.
This is my song and my Neice she use to play it more than I did and bought it beautiful beautiful song. Makes me want to cry. I was very young and my family was alive!
Now this song has got me shook up. It's the epitome of romance and emotion. Remember my first love and this song. Good harmonizing and the guys can SING.
I've looked for this song for over twenty years and found it by mistake while looking for something else. Made me cry and sing outloud! THANKS A BUNCH!
THIS IS THE KIND OF SONG THAT LOVE IS MADE OF! THE FEELINGS THAT GOES THROUGH YOU WHEN YOU HEAR A GREAT ONE LIKE THIS SENDS ROMANCE THROUGH THE AIR AND IF YOU CAN,T DIG ON THAT,THEN YOUR DEAD INSIDE!
