I guess my auge motor is bad. its only a few years old and hardly use the ice machine. Wierd. So is it plug and play after you take off those 4 bolts?????
Send me a video, try removing the ice bin. Open the door and pressing the door switch and dispensing arm. See if the motor is turning. The ice bin arm might be damaged. Keep me posted
I actually diagnosed it earlier. The customer had another company out. He said it was the board and wanted to sell some plan. He disconnected the pressure tube. Yep she is up . Appreciate your support
okay i might have finally found the right guy to ask my question. I have this EXACT washer.. i decided to clean it up thoroughly as i noticed some rust on the inside of the drum just as the one you were working on this video has. I am sure you had to use a puller to get that drum off the drive spindle just as i did . My question is around the rust, Mine also has rust under the agitator as this one did but not as much. But i had a ton on the underneath side of the drum where the spindle goes through. Can a remove the rust with a wire wheel on a drill and hit it with some rust paint ? replacing the drum is super expensive so not worth it, but i was just wondering your thoughts on this ? or should i just slap it back together and move on ? Thanks . I actually have another washer for parts and i took the drum off that one and it has exactly the same issue.. almost like the water has no place to go and just sits there so rusts from the inside out. As soon as you take the agitator off you see the rust
If it is rust that you can scrap off , remove it, but those baskets are baked. So I would not paint it. Maybe a rust converter . On my channel on a speed Queen maintenance I used the product called Corroseal. Excellent stuff. Love that you are fixing your washer. Excellent unit. I tell my customers don’t get rid of them. In fact I just picked up a beautiful set yesterday. They are “upgrading “
@@appliancerepairshorts thank you very much for getting back to me. I will look for that product. I hate taking stuff to the dump. I used those tablets to clean the washer but was not satisfied.. wanted to strip it all down but needed advice first.. one I stripped completely and it looks brand new except for the drum.. if I can fix these drums I'm good to go. I repair medical diagnostic analysers for work so it's awesome to work on something so simple and reliable . thanks for the advice and keep up the great work
So maybe THIS is the answer since I still can't get mine off. A new one is around thirty two dollars online, and I'd rather light it on fire (just to punish it)and melt it into hell than go through this continual hassle. I'm trying to install the metal machine drum to fix the wobbling from the plastic POS. Of note, the nut came off very easily and my Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 machine isn't so bad that I still can't use it. My thought before I burn it off is to continue to use it as normal on the hot wash cycle with a load of clothes. Maybe it will just release itself over time. I'm not in a hurry, but I am vindictive against machines that do not cooperate with me. I bought them. Therefore, they report to ME. 🎉
I’m actually uploading a video right now. I have another one that I’m doing the tub hub. I used the torch and sometimes you get lucky. I was able to save it. I’m uploading it later today. Make sure it is not your suspension rods.
@@appliancerepairshorts That's a great point which I had tested last week. I did test the suspension rods by giving the "quick push". They immediately bounced one time and stopped. It's very similar to a suspension on a vehicle, which is something i'm used to working on. If shocks on a car continue to bounce, they're bad. To double check,I went into Home Depot and looked at new machines and performed the same test.
I followed the steps in this video and it still doesn't work. The water dispenser works and the ice maker will fill with water when in diagnostic mode but the ice doesn't empty nor will it fill with water in operational mode. What could be causing this problem? It started with the refrigerator not recognizing the doors were closed. It took a few tries but unplugging it and plugging it back in reset the "door ajar" light but the ice maker has not been the same since.
So if you’re having trouble with the door not closing, as in the computer thinks it is open. The unit will not disperse any. So you need to adjust the door . Normally it is the freezer-left side door- try adjusting the hinges. Or you might need the insert bushing. You can try lifting slightly to raise the door and see if that signals the door opening issue. Keep me posted. Those KitchenAid units are okay one they are fixed
I drained the washer, which made a few clicks but would not pump out. I removed the pump, no obstructions. I did the Drain/Spin momentarily to check the pump impeller, but it did not turn. While testing the Drain/ Spin, the tub spun, just not the pump. I also think it may be the pump. Do you have the tech sheet for it? There wasn't one in my unit, as I looked. I need it for the diagnostic and reset procedures. So, you were thinking it could be the pump. What are the symptoms of an actuator or a capacitor goes bad? By the way, I looked up parts on the "Repair Clinic" and my Maytag comes up as an Admiral. The Pump comes up as an Admiral pump also. Is that normal? The LED light cycles through the washer spin, wash, etc, settings consecutively after all the tests I ran.
Replace your drain pump. If you verify that there is no obstruction and you put it in drain and spin and the pump is not turning. You either have a bad pump , broken wire or a bad board. Did you check for voltage? (120 a/c ) your washer is a Whirlpool made. They are just badged differently. Check for voltage before replacing. You can also run the pump out of the washer. You don’t need to reset or calibrate. Just unplug it for 5 minutes. The system will operate correctly once the circuit is connected/completed. The shifter has nothing to do with drain. It monitors the drum, puts the washer into spin/wash. 99.9 you have a bad pump. The capacitor is for helping the motor
My problem is the washer stopsthen is full. It won't drain. I've done the diagnostice. I got the same code as you. I tried to cycle through the settings to reset, after this, the led races through each of the washer settings. I believe the washer went off balance. Normally I'll just Rinse/Drain and call it good.
You could, but you would need something to regulate the temperature in the fresh food section. You would freeze. I think this video shows how to fix it. Did you watch all of it? Unless it’s another video I have that I show the fix
@@appliancerepairshorts Thank you for a prompt response. Did the old refrigerators have motorized dampers too or just manual controls? I mean, set some average conditions/opening and adjust it a little to get a desired temperature about 5C manually. Yes, I watched how to fix it - thank you, it was very helpful - I'll do it soon. I was in a hurry to get the main camera cool enough to prevent food spoiling.
@@arcshinus7238 yes most old refrigerators had manual controls and a thermostat. Some thermostats had a damper that would open based on temperature. All manual. Keep posted on your repair
Actually, I have a Whirlpool side-by-side. After removing the control panel, I've found a mechanical damper control arm that opens/closes the damper. I've traced the problem (presumably) to a bad defrost system thermostat (need to cut it out to replace it). I've checked the other components: defrost timer, defrost heater - they are good. Every 10 hours the fridge has to go into a defrost mode, but it doesn't and the ice builds up quickly on the fins and blocks the air circulation. The compressor seems to work well, the temperature of the fins drops to -20F. It is surprising how inefficient the refrigerator is without the automatic defrost system: 20 hours after manually defrosting the fridge, the freezer temperature rises to 20F (instead of 0F) and the main chamber is at 55-60F (instead of 45F); the ambient temperature is about 85F, humidity is 100% .
@@arcshinus7238 It sounds like there still may be areas that are frozen and not allowing the air to circulate enough. Pull the fresh food drawer out and you will see a vent on the left side. Get a steamer and steam it out. Do not use a heat gun or blow dryer! You should be able to blow steam through that passage from the fresh food all the way into the freezer. Also make sure your drain is not clogged. Once you defrost everything and the vent is clear, the fridge should work perfectly for about 7 days. Verify that your frost pattern is even across the lines.
@@appliancerepairshorts Thanks for the reply. It is looking like I might have a bad capacitor as well. I ordered that to replace. I'll send you a video if, after I make that repair, and still have issues. I have not measured the amount of resistance, but it sounds as though the overload is shutting everything off. The compressor sounds like it is attempting to start, perhaps not getting enough juice due to the capacitor, causing the overload to kick in. I cannot imagine what else it would be unless the compressor itself is bad.
@@jonseiverth3376 did you test the compressor? You can buy a 3-1 (3 in 1) hard start relay. Get a cord connect the two black wires. Now use that to power the compressor. I have a video on that, but not sure if it’s on RU-vid or Patreon. I’ll check
You can add CLR to the water supply line. Turn on the cold for 2 seconds. The CLR will clean it out. Also you can remove the screen. I’ll link the video to the valve clean

Brother thank you! This is the exact fix I needed. Only took a 1/4” socket for the kickplate and a few taps to get her fixed if anyone else is skeptical.
I do apologize, I wasn’t going to do a video, but decided after the fact. The sound is a click click. The debris was hitting and slowing down the wash pump
@@appliancerepairshorts What are today's GE dishwasher wash motors like? I noticed that their latest builder-grade dishwashers sound like they have a wet magnetic main wash motor.
Thanks for such a concise video! I have a question. My bottom drawer front is loose, despite being seated correctly and the pins being in place. Would it be safe to run a strip of Gorilla tape along the top to secure it?
Double check your installation. You might have a false set. The top has to be inserted first then push the bottom in then the pins. Try that first. If you can email me a video I’ll see if you are missing something. It is a nice unit you really don’t want to tape it. Unless you really don’t have a choice
Theres the problem. Circuit board appliance…. Costs $$$$$$$ to replace them …. My 30 year old washer and dryer is minimal cost for parts …. Show absolutely no signs of slowing down
Hi my friend. I need help about refrigerator Hisense French Door inverter 536 liters. I have a refrigerator without some parts. Do you have catalog with all parts this model ?
My dryer was overheating. It now clicks and doesn't come on. It did this after I cleaned all the lint out so I know there's no obstructions. I'm afraid if I replace the thermal fuse it will start overheating again.
So let me start from the beginning. If a dryer is overheating, that could be you have a restriction somewhere. That is normally the venting portion. The thermal fuse on the blower housing. You can test it for continuity. The next could be a grounded element, which will kill the thermal fuse and the thermal high limit cut off. The one on the element. So replace the two on the element and the thermal fuse. Check the element for continuity again the body to the element wires
@@appliancerepairshorts I've replaced the element twice in less than a year. I replaced the thermostat and fuse on element and it doesn't start up. I'm buying a new dryer. In my opinion this dryer has been nothing but trouble from the time I bought it used.
Is a new sensor that expensive? I know You want to do right by your customer by trying to clean the old one but do you keep a new one on hand in case that doesn't work?
I do, I normally replace it if I get a call back . I know most of the time, they are good. To be honest, they are not expensive. Most people prefer not to spend money lol. So I like to share the fixes instead of replacing
Problem is that now the rod is sliding up and down on the tightened plastic peace and over time said plastic piece will break due to missing grease (the squishy material inside the plastic piece is greased)... How long does that fix work until it breaks again, this time for good?
I have been using this for few years. I warranty any washer I repair. I let the customer know, but I do a year warranty. If you adjust it properly, you will be fine. You don’t need grease. Thanks for watching
You just saved us hundreds of dollars!! 🤸♂️🤸♀️🤸🏻 Samsung could't help!! Just for the repairman to show up was 1/2 the price of a new dryer. Your video was EXACT!! So so very grateful!! May God bless you for making it!!!!
Replaced all that and tub splined washer ,bravos works but has very weak spin cycle that leaves cloths wet, could over tighten belt nut slow the spin ? Any help/suggestions ideas thanks
Send me a model number, Brovos I don’t think has a belt. You might have a piece of clothing caught between the drum and outer basket. Use a bright light and look. You might actually have a situation with the bearings and seal.
