I waited for Dwares 😊Castle in Heroes III for years. After Disciples and Heroes V was relased, you realize that's something is missing in older games. Dwarf as infantry unit in Elves faction and forest based Castle simply is not working. I wish this castle had more beasts in it, and and Amazon as lesser Valkyrie is strange choice.
Horn of the Abyss - too conservative and afraid Wake of Gods - too experimental, want to achieve cram in too much - but many good ideas If I had money to finance a heroes 3 reborn - I would hire both of the teams.
Lot of stupid things with this units, but still, if they only made such town instead of factory It would be fantastic. In Heroes 5 they did really great job with dwarf units, except the 7 tier volcano dragon which kinda suck, but if there should be another 9th town it should be something like this. based on defense and spell power. Armored canon is stupidly expensive, instead they could have a battering ram against walls or something like that. Flame gladiators are kinda cringe, too much try for interesting unit. How Amazons fit into mountain-like castle ? Thats a miss kinda. Why the hell are you not showing unupgraded versions of the patriarchs and gladiators ? Chance of casting frenzy and mass bless is utterly stupid, too much overdo. But overall good job, the city looks very pretty, music is surprisingly also sweet. Good job
As a kind of back-porting of the Heroes V dwarf town this is pretty amazing. However, just speaking personally, I'm not a huge fan of when towns pick one race and make almost every unit out of that race. Having like five different units that are all basically dwarves is a bit too much for me. Replacing one or two of these dwarf units with maybe something like a bear, or a yeti, or what they did in Heroes VII, a kobold, would increase the visual diversity and make things look a bit more interesting, imho. (This is also why I'm not crazy about the Heroes V "Ashanified" versions of Dungeon, which is like four different dark elves. Castle with mostly humans gets a pass, just because not having lots of monsters and creatures accessible is part of the Knightly fantasy, imho.)
The Abyss theme? You can find it inside the mods folder within VCMI folder wherw the game reserves space in the documents for the content you installed using the launcher.
@@heroes3wog I guess. Hota Crew is super slow with their development while VCMI is something else, since it's progressively getting better and better and is so rich in content as well. A few years ago it was far behind Hota level, but now it exceeds my expectations.
Please rework some exaggerated h5 style units - go more in homm2,3 or h7 style. Also heroes looks not promising so far looking at Keandra. Portraits of h7 were superior so far
One thing I don't like about this are images of heroes, it gives off "kid's game" vibes. I'd really like the images of heroes to be as closed to HoMM 3 as possible.
