I kinda have a bad feeling about this considering what Ubisoft has become. Considering there are no signs of it coming to GOG, I totally expect some always-online DRM to render it unplayable. Not to mention that the art direction from the trailer already resembles generic fantasy slop from the Android store.
At the end of the day, graphics don't matter. Gameplay is what matters. I wish it looked like a modern HoMM3 as much as the next man. But I'm optimistic. It's not being made by Ubi anyway, only published by them.
@@FilthEffect Yeah, but that doesn't stop them from forcing some extremely invasive DRM into it. After all, they're the ones who said that "gamers should get comfortable with not owning games they bought".
As a Russian, I say that the game will be a banger, no problems. I say this as a Russian beacause developers have already given some interviews in Russian, where they literally spoiled 70% of the game content. The game will contain the best from V and III parts. Also the game will be completely modable, and developers interviewed themselves many Russian professional HoMM III youtubers and streamers, asking them about balance, multiplayer, features, etc. So no worries about the game, it will be 100% playable, and 50% chance that it will be better than the 3d part, because of how many information developers gathered to make the game being the best as much as possible.
@@Beranin The trailer did. If this is supposed to be inspired by homm3, the graphics direction is clearly aimed at that market. Cartoony, overstylised( big shoulderpads, there is dreinei in there) Its worse, than people accused hoom 5 of ripping off wow gfx. Like i said, its early we will see. (6 and 7 least got the art direction right-ish)
@@raynortownly7098 It looks way better than HoMM 6 and 7 already. And let's not forget HoMM 7 was mainly outsourced to the Chinese by Limbic to start with. I'm gonna try to stay positive as well; at least the trailer has a hex-based battlefield and more animations than 6 + 7 had together at launch !

One thing I don't like about this are images of heroes, it gives off "kid's game" vibes. I'd really like the images of heroes to be as closed to HoMM 3 as possible.
