Fishing is one of my passion. I created this channel for my own Personal Journal and to share some of my fishing expeditions for you " FisherFolks" to enjoy. We ALL have a choice, either Conceal or Share. My goal is to share knowledge and informations to those that are new to fishing.
LOL.....Hey Brother man. When are you going for Tuna again? Maybe we can all go together this time. DM me here... FB, "fisherman ally". Thanks again for sharing your hooks and knowledge.
I'm thinking of introducing my son to fishing. I also have not tried fishing for many many years. Your video makes it tempting and look kind of possible. Thank you
Thank you! Good Weather is your friend. This time of the year is my most productive for Surfperch or Stripers. A great time to introduce your son to surf fishing. If fish doesn't cooperate, a great time with family on the beach is always a winner. Tight lines and be safe.
@@johnpolo3145 Their anchors are not designed for windy days. My method when the wind is gusting over 10mph is try to let the both anchor settled before casting my line. I'll leave at least 5ft extra rope once the anchor is on the bottom before tying them. The effectiveness of this is 5 out of 10 tries when i'm solo, more than 2 persons on boat maybe 2 out of 10. When weather is persistent, i move around different coves till i find a better spot to shelter from the elements.
What a disappointment with that fishing charter in San Diego! 😡 Leave it to the FishermanAlly to regroup with friends and have a great day on another vessel in Santa Cruz!👍
Few anglers had said this Vessel often cancelled a trip due to engine trouble. However, we can't let a little setback bring us down. Positivity is key.
Great catches. I’ve been watching your videos and am a beginner at fishing. I’ve went to los vaqueros 3 times on boat in passed month with a buddy and used the same bait and set ups as you guys but we haven’t had any luck. Do you have any tips? We want to catch some fish lol
Thanks for watching! There are lots of coves you can choose from. However, my methods of choosing one might be different from anyone else. I choose my coves or spots depending of when the last plant was. Example: 2 days after the plant, i try my luck at Howden cove ect...IMO, Weather is a big factor, Lassen stays within the temp they were once raised. They are also Finicky type of fish, they moved around when they sense movement around them, ( loud anchor splash etc...) majority of the coves have no anglers on the shore making noise therefore those trouts love hugging the bank for food or shelter like down trees or tules. If you noticed on my video, i throw my jig or bait close to the bank. If one area doesn't produce a bite or no activity for at least 20mins i move to the next spot. Gears and setup are also critical for presentation. I use 500 to 1000 series reel, 5'6" light rod or trout rod up to 7'.6", shorter leader when water is cooler and longer leader when the surface water started to warm up a bit. 2' for colder and 3 to 4' for warmer days, #16 treble hooks is my choice. Hope this helps. Tight lines my friend.
@@hmoobshow2482 if the wind forecast is below 15 mph,you can rent a boat. You can then fish the entire lake. North side restrictions are for “hike in” access. Please note that you cannot land the boat anywhere except marina. We use the anchors to fish in several remote coves. Tight lines. Uncle Steve
"Fishman" you scored again, locating a hot spot that produced many good catches. Some catches were "BIG" recently stocked fish, long distances away from their release point. Interesting too, was those fish (big) were more interested in lures/jigs and not usual hatchery type power bait feed. A hypothesis: Some older, big stocked fish ("innately") quickly move long distances (feel free and gat away from release points) looking for more natural foods (and "natural environments") than power bait in concrete traces. Other stocked fish remain near release points, quickly go for/eat anything and are quickly caught/eliminated from the lake. I "wonder/question" if older, bigger fish may be more likely to disperse farther from their release point than smaller young fish??? Aside and regardless of my wondering thoughts, you're a great fisher who produces enjoyable and very learned videos.
Thanks Ron. In my humble opinion. I really think when those Trouts are released in the lake, with the lakes temperature variations and water quality, they quickly swam away for better quality water and temp. I'm guessing, some trouts stays within the plant locations due to sedating chems might not have worn out yet. The other factor, On a windy plant days, With my experience, most shore line are murky due to waves are crashing on the mud bank and stirred the water brown. Most of the time i don't catch anything when this happened. When Boating, some areas or coves are still in pristine conditions despite of windy days and most trouts i've caught are in this quality of water. Catching these fish on the lure is very tricky for me. Lure i used mimics how prey fish swim ( minnows or insects ) it takes a few casts to be proficient with it and i really think colors and presentations play a big role. Let me know your availability and hopefully we can fish together on a boat before the seasons for trout ends.
Your statement is true and i agree. However, (While on the fish) When i'm using my jigging rod n reel my drag is loose due to my lure ( spoon ) have a tendency on pulling off the fish if my drag is a bit tight that's why it looks i'm reeling while the line is peeling, i never reel while the fish is pulling away. Good point though.
Howden, Cox, Pen just to name a few that have coves to shelter up from the wind. Wind directions matters to choose which cove is best. For example: Below 15MPH per Marina's weather Safety Guidelines. If wind coming from the South, maybe Pen is Better choice. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps.
