Fill them all the way , you'll notice the dips if you don't Made a bunch of these, though I cut my own templates. Another thing to consider is if you don't paint and you use pigment instead of mica there's a good chance of your color seeping into the wood.
Most of those routers have small plates because they are used for smaller projects and spaces. If I need to have a larger surface area, I have a plunge base for them already but also, I would use a larger router which has the larger base and more power if I'm doing bowls and something that is going to be doing heavier work.
I used a modified concept for this to fix a silicone stamp that was inconsistent in terms of thickness (there were some problematic air bubbles on the back of it, which meant it was applying pressure improperly in the same places every time, so there were always the same gaps in the image). What I did was I placed the front part of the stamp on an acrylic block, put silicone caulk on the back, and pressed another acrylic block on top of that to make sure that everything was pressing evenly/the stamp adhered to the acrylic block on the back properly. After the silicone dried, the stamp came off the acrylic block just like a standard silicone stamp, and it actually presses evenly now! (It's possible the new silicone backing will come off eventually, but at that point I should be able to repeat the process if needed.)
I have a pair of the Harbor Freight Hercules 20v Cordless Compact Routers. Do you have one of your 2 handled router bases for this router? If so, I'd like to purchase at least one of them.
@@CraftedElements If you could tell me which one will match up with your templates, I will buy it.... I can't match up without buying an assortment of your templates on blind hope...
Waiting for my 2 handed router base I ordered last week. Can’t wait to use it. Ido a lot of carving with my small router. Make one with a universal plate and wood dowel handles. Works but the 1/4 inch plate flexes way to much sending my project to the burn pile. Thanks again for your support and marvelous products. Keep them coming. Still got money left in my wallet. What’s the other side look like? I hate doing beautiful designs in the epoxy, and when you go back 4 hours later, it doesn’t look anything like I expected it to! 😂😂
Some really good ideas in this video. I especially like the low profile router setup at the end of a workbench. I would definitely use at the end of my mobile workbench.
I learned a lot from your video. Your presentation was spot on! Great info was shared too. Excellent. EXCEPT .! Sound quality could be better. It sounds like your voice is muffled. After you ran the sled the vacuum sound nearly drowned you out completely . But that aside. GREAT VID EO ! I would recommend this to others.
Good Day 🌅, nice job, it might be worth putting a handle, attached to the cradle, so you’re not pushing I’m pulling on the router itself, it’s just a thought, I did see somebody I believe last year had made something similar, and it helps when you’ve got something a lot wider so you’re not leaning across your workspace, good luck nice job, From France.
