All religions, sects and cults work with "fear" to control their believers, all also offer "rewards" if you donate to them and submit to their rules, paradise, rebirth, etc. The systems are similar, mostly securing the power of the powerful or making it possible at all if the first Homosabian can prove hell or paradise and deities for me....I will also be a believer..
