Sometimes i lift weights right after hard BJJ because its the only way to fit into my schedule. Dont give a fuck that its "not optimal", best part is overcoming the mental barriers and still putting on muscle
Thanks for the observation 👌 but I have trouble executing Shoulder roll if there is good pressure coming into to me as it was in this case. Any suggestions for that?
great point, faking the level change throwing hands is a great dilemma in itself that you gotta be always ready for defensively. So to throw that right, he will need to let go and come up in which case you can start to duck/move away.
I have applied the teachings of this man to my daily life for at least a decade now, and I can proudly say that through daily micro aggressions towards my goals, I have successfully improved my KD from 1.23 to 1.25 on COD. 😎🏆
“Your life will simply run in a flat line, until the day you die.” That hit. Because the flat line is your life’s pulse. No life while you’re living. Maybe he didn’t even mean it this way but that is profound.
This is how I taught for 7 years I can't believe that it has a name I am not crazy I just believe in kaizen, everything you do should move towards a goal to be a better person.
All these people who started kickboxing at 37 and here I am having taken up muay thai at 26 now at 30 sitting and feeling shooting pains in my right ankle and knee and feeling the dread of permanent damage.
Exactly correct! The only other thing I would add is if you are an advanced guy, you should tap out if the lower belt catches you when you are working on stuff. If you put yourself in bad spots and the lower belt guys and girls end up capitalizing on it and catching you, just tap out and go again. Don’t say a word about you working on stuff or anything other than “that was great!” Keep going - because does it really matter if you build that person up rather than create a caveat where they can’t experience victory? Help them - create more advanced belts rather than digest another ego. You’re good, now make everyone else good and prove you are great.
I am a mid level blue belt; if I roll with white belts they are fighting for their life, I want to train light without using too much muscle or strength; finess is hard against bigger stronger opponents but I won’t give up!😂
I began my jiu jitsu jihad 6 years ago. I had been on a food jihad for many years before that. Now, I am on a human jihad and it is an honor to grow with my brothers. I have been busy lately with a house buying jihad as well as a having a child jihad but soon I shall return with great emphasis on jiu jitsu.
In my mind the most important belt is the puple belt, it defines the border line between an amateur/beginner to a really advanced bjj level, i m now a brown but the satisfaction that gave me the purple in unbelieveble (even because i have been a blue for 7 years)
Really healthy for you as a white belt to roll with "complete" beginners. It gives you the opportunity to drill or basically do the things that you have learned so far as a white belt. Practicing with them is as important as practicing with higher belts at some degree.
