Pete Rodriguez is for sure one of the greater composers and trumpet players on this planet - alone his album "El Conde Negro" is a timeless masterpiece - but 127 Klicks here and not so much on other of his vids tells me, that he has a very weak publicity departement. You need a good film crew, man. And people who know how to feed the algos.
Nice tone on the alternate fingering "bent" notes! All of the valve combinations ring with a full sound. Thank you for sharing, I'm working on the same exercises and this helped me to pre-hear the sound I want to produce.
Loved it was Melo and also yours with appreciation for jazz with a touch of class and song!. Well dne love your expression of modern day jazz music and bew interpretation of love.❤ Peace and hood night to you and your family always 😊
I just happened to stumble across Pete's videos after MANY years since we actually played together in the horn section for the Latin salsa band Orchesta Shati. Pete was working the head of this tune during band breaks even back then. I can still clearly imagine him running the melody to get the quick Parker passages under the fingers. Nice to see he's been able to build a career for himself in music. Some of us always had to do other things to make ends meet. Keep up the good work! (Austin Stage 470 copper bell horn?)
Thank you for the video Pete. Very helpful!. I love the picture on the background of your dad. Can you give us a background of your musical life as a kid and the experiences you had being around that musical environment?
