I had to add this, {noticed comments a year old}. Spider must have Listened or learned, now they sell adapters to fit most tools so there is no need to die the threads!
As a builder who uses this every day, it's not a good framing gun. I own a metabo and a bostitch framing that are both older and they're way better. The makita is always having problems. Jambs, doesnt drive the nails as well and all the screws loosen, actually lost some.
I totally agree. As I have run through cases of nails the gun is very particular about the nails it likes. I don’t run two sticks. When I use the nails it likes it’s as reliable ad my old Dewalt gun was. I don’t have issues with depth of drive of nail, that’s never been an issue. I did have a chance to run the Metabo actually I ran two cases of nails through it and after those two cases of nails, I had to take the nail gun back to Lowe’s. It was worse than my old Porter cable. Thanks for your comment.
@n3qdz Yeah, I also have problems with all my framing guns running 2 racks of ring shanks. I've found the metabo brand ring shanks are the best, less likely jamb on all my guns. I do like makita, I own 2 of the 40v worm drive saws, love those things. Also own a handful of other makita tools. But I won't buy a framing gun by them anytime soon.
This is a champ! It’s lightweight plenty of power. And still pretty sharp. As with any hedge trimmer keep the cutting bar lubed! Thanks for the comment and the view!
I know this is an old post and you haven't made any videos in a while, making it on YT is not an easy gig. You give good information....BUT you repeat too much. This 24 minute video could have been a third, about 8 minutes and had the same relevant information. If ever you do more in the future, edit the repetitiveness. Also, not just you, but others that do a lot of the 1 handed stuff in front of the camera, is frustrating to watch. Otherwise, you have subscribers, views and many videos, so you have done more than a multitude of people that try to make it on YT. I don't know the exact numbers but for every successful YTuber, many have failed. Good luck if you continue on.
Just picked this up from Home Depot (floor display) for $19. The clearance sticker said $95 down from $189. But it has been sitting on clearance since 10/23 and it’s now 07/24 I guess it’s been going down for the past 10 months. The store just didn’t keep up with the price tag, but thankfully they sold me the floor display because they were no more in stock at that store. Got home put a battery in it and thought maybe it was a dud! But then I realize you had to press the safety bar with the trigger at the same time. Worked extremely well, better than the Friskers manual has tremors work. Plus for $19 even if they didn’t work well I couldn’t complain.
Hi, I’m having difficulty testing whether the led is bad, or if the input is bad from thermostat. What voltage should I be getting at the wiring harness the led plugs into. I have a 120/240 model cwtf35
thanks for the vid, helped me decide to go get the set of this, i'm so happy I found your video. was looking for a system to organize my tools and your review is very detailed with the improvements and comparison to other brands. also this could make some nice hard boxes to protect expensive radio equipment in transportation, just add some foam or cushion material. 73 from KD2OVM
They look ridiculous! And whats the point of the little mini spike bolted onto the absurdly big one? What purpose does it serve? Shame I cant get the stock 572 outer felling dawg and this is what I get in a search looking for some.
When you get into loose Spark or very thick bark, you won’t get a bite from the stock soul dogs. With these they bite very well and you get a very good purchase.
Nice comparison! I have an original 550xpg and love the heated handles in winter. 2017 build and I have not had any issues. But I run minimum 40:1 ethanol free 91 octane. My only dislike is the outboard clutch, do not forget to disengage the chain brake before removing the clutch cover! PITA when in the woods. Yes, an addict. My only husky and one of 7 that I own.
Hi, am rebuilding one of these and I believe it’s leaking from the tank seal, so I have that on order, when taking it apart I took a pic of wires but it looks like the blanket Warmer had only one wire connected. Where does the other one go?
I have this same exact model that I am currently trying to fix. Ive gone through hours of troublshoot. Got this for $50 at thrift store so dont know its history. To this point i replaced one brass water line that had a hole in it. And ive replaced the bug nut on top of the flow control on the back because the previous nut was cracked open (almost looked as though someone may have dropped it). After replacing these obvious things then i proceeded to troubleshoot the operation of the machine. Putting water into the top I wanted to make sure the tank was full so it could heat. Well during this process i put too much water in and water started pouring down to the bottom. I thought from previous forums i found that if i overflowed it then remainder would just come out theough the spray head. Well i was wrong which i later found out the silicone seal to the tank wasnt sealed properly. Currently it almost appears as though the top of the tank where it is bolted to the top looks warped a little bit. Not sure if it is supoosed to be flat or if its just warped. Hopefully not because i dont want to accidentally overfill it in the future and have it leak again. Ill address the leak if i can get the machine working. I have now gone through a series of testing continuity at alot of points to find my issue. I currently cant get the brewing process to start. The heating element comes on and heats the water to close to 200 degrees (i checked with a thermometer) but the water never boils up through yhe tube into the spray head through the filter tray. Was hoping maybe you had some advice for the leak spot and if you think that top could have been warped and if you know why i cant get brewing to start. Thank you
So I disconnected the spray head tube to see if there was buildup and seems to be water going through okay. Maybe my syphon gasket wasn't connected properly not allowing vapor.pressure from boiling to allow pass through to the brew cup
Update so my tank cover was warped and welded screws on tank were bent outwards preventing the cover from coming off. So I had to put the nuts on and bang the screws back so I could take the lid off. When I did I also discovered a big hole in the coil. So far this thing had 1 hole in a brass line that goes to the solenoid and coil , the flow regulator had a big hole in it and now the coil has a big hole in it and the cover was extremely warped. I'm sensing this thing had a major failure. I'm tempted to now replace the coil, new gaskets and new cover and see what it does but I'm also nervous it will fail again. Maybe that first hole created bad pressure and just created a chain reaction eventually in other points ?
Do after ally parts came in and putting everything back together, the water heater heats the water and it clicks off automatically but once it's heated and I hit the start button it still wont brew. Any idea what could still be the problem?
How is the water level in the boiler determined? I have one that fills and keeps running and overflowing. There must be a sensor to trigger the fill valve?
Mine has the same issue that I’m currently dealing with. 1st problem to look at it is the water solenoid. Sometimes it may not seal after you brew or just sitting there. If you have a instant hot water dispenser, you can have a leak in the circuit that is still feeding the boiler volume. When you do a boiler feed for the first time you have to do it when the machine is off. Then fill up the boiler till water comes out. Then turn on the machine and press brew you should be go to go
Thanks for review. I've got the Rigid system and been looking for ones with drawers . The ability to work out of drawers while stacked , makes them great in a customer's home , or apartment so your not bending over , with boxes all over the floor. Rigid finally came out with drawers but it waaay to heavy !! They needed a smaller unit for the middle of the set-up. . I can't make the jump to these , the Rigid like you said, the design and durability , and ease of stacking and unstacking is excellent. I think they still need an easily stackable system, thats easier to go up and down stairs . Honestly, if Rigid just comes out with a smaller drawer unit , I'm sticking with that.
I like your intro, reminds me a bit of myself, have you sought help or have you just accepted that you have this interest? Own a 550 XPG original. Thanks for a nice presentation about the differences. Greetings from Sweden
glass filled nylon is pretty strong, if you're putting over 200lbs on this setup you have bigger issues. if you want metal threads it looks like they make all metal spider versions
If you still have a stuck head use a pair is channel lock pliers lightly as not to mark up the spray head. If you do no worrier the spray heads are very cheap, sorry so long in getting back to you
This process was fairly easy when I did it with RT29 radios I purchased last year but I don't have access to the workstation I downloaded the software to before and when I tried it on several workstations to program the 10 additional radios we recently purchased I can't get it to work. I purchased them for a couple of Hilton brand hotels and had Hilton tech support try to do it and it didn't work for them either. Quite frustrating to have brand new radios and not be able to use them.
So what is a critical part is getting the correct programming cable. The wrong cable and they are just boat anchors. Im sorry you are have such difficulty
I too am addicted to power saws, but i live in the woods and use a wood stove as my primary means of heat. However, I'm worried about a good friend who lives in the city. He comes over once or twice a month to help me cut wood. Often times he shows up unannounced and just says "Hey need help cutting firewood"! What am i going to do ?
Your friend needs help getting back to nature. He seeks his roots for his manhood. Give him a saw and a little pat on the back, then you have someone to cover you for all time to come. Does he drive Husqvarna even better, from Sweden with love. 🙂
Nice vid. I just bought the 2.0 set a couple weeks ago, bought the 3 pieces $140. Compared to Dewalt at $200. and Milwaukee at over $300. I’m very impressed with the quality of boxes. Again thanks for the comparison.
I couldn’t find a new Stihl 261cm a couple years ago, but I found an online dealer in AL that had a Husky 550xpmk2 at a great price. I love my 550, it cuts like a sports car and from 1 detailed power test on here of all 50cc saws, the 550 has the most hp & torque. (Tied 261 for hp). Great saw! 👍🏻
