If it's a 'no no' for artists to take their work to a gallery without an appointment then the gallery owner shouldn't waste the artist's time by looking at the work just to turn them down. Unless it's a mutual thing and the artist is just seeking advice. Otherwise kindly arrange an appointment date and take it from there. And I don't believe in this "not ready for prime time" thinking. Every aspiring artist is a diamond in the rough. If the talent is there and we are able to then we should support that talent. Have them in a group showing. Wow
I love the HRS painters but have never heard of this gentleman, which is a terrible omission. He spent a couple of years here in Canada and I've seen him referred to as the father of Canadian landscape art, so I need to dig into this and see if any of his work is on display here, and if there are any locations near me that I could visit. Thank you so much for shining light on these artist! I discovered Hale accidentally researching the street name WOODRUFF of the street in Brooklyn my father grew up on in the 40's through 60's. HALE's art is absolutely electric and seems like a voice that explodes off the piece. He was a true master who devoted himself to going very large and executing the highest possible form. The small pieces you compare are so sublime and well selected. I'm really stoked to spread the work both artists
