I acquired one recently and “rehoused” it in functional 3d printed cine lens non-destructive “armor” from freely available STL’s from I believe a guy called Magic Breeze Studio. The larger diameter cine form factor gives the focus throw a longer feel. It’s not ONE HUNDRED percent a consistent aperture, it’s got an ever so slight 2.6-2.8 bump way low on the zoom range but it’s 2 keyframes on a Resolve node to fix.
Thanks for the helpful video. Things to note: They sit in WAY more tightly than I thought, so act with caution. As another commentor said: I'd imagine it's impossible to put them back once they're out,
The zoom does move you'll have to make adjustments on a gimbal.. The slightest movement forward or backward throws off a gimbal and the zoom does move. It just don't protrude like you said
Angie has nothing to do with that lens, thats a weird internet myth thats been aroudn forever. just pull up the specs from the MANUFACTURER for both lenses. They aren't the same design. Its that simple.
Awesome video Paden! Those New York clips are especially beautiful :) Thank you so much for sharing your point of view on Dehancer! Our Team is here, please feel free to ask any questions below.
Does The front element on those pentax zoom rotate with the focus? How does it perform with a vnd? I’m guessing there would be issues or it would be a pain to focus and change the nd as not to get any shifts in the image.
I too also use to hire the 4k in the begining, but when i bought the 6k then later upgraded to the 6k Pro, i noticed a HUGE difference in image quality but more especially better Dynamic Range with the 6kPro over the 4k. I wasn't expecting the flip screen + brightness to be that important and good. Once u start using inbuilt ND, u wouldn't wanna go back to anything else. The 4k is a brilliant camera but the 6k Pro is far far better in image quality, DR, and features.
Great video. I too started on the Panny G7 and went to the P4K. Hopefully BMD drops something with better ergonomics soon for me. That 6K sensor really does better in the highlights.
Great camera! The Pocket 4K, 6K, 6K pro, and 6KG2, are all beasts and still competitive today. Especially the 6K models. I do think the 6K has more dynamic range and better skin tones.
Does anyone know of a tele-zoom (something like 70-200mm) that has similar characteristics to the this lens? I'm looking to buy a set of two zooms for travelling and the Tokina would be perfect if there is a tele-zoom that delivers a similar look to pair it with
I would say it depends on your needs. If you need autofocus and reliable clean optics, I would go with Tamron or Sigma. But if you’re looking for a budget manual lens for video this is a great option.
Good video, can you tell me if i have the version for Nikon can i connect the sigma 18 35 1.8 Nikon without any problems or i have to to sth more? Cose when I connect the lens to my Lumix g80 the preview freezes and don't catch the focus
Hi, the viltrox nikon to micro four thirds speed booster doesn’t have electronic connection, meaning you can’t use auto focus lenses or lenses with electronic aperture control. You can only use fully manual lenses.
@@wandb_design I did some searching around and sadly I couldn’t find any nikon speedboosters that support electronic connection. I think the canon speedbooster and canon lenses is your best bet.
Thanks so much for your video. I use the M43x with a Panny GH5 for video...real happy with it. Reason being, I have a bunch of Nikon vintage and not-so-vintage lenses. Your comments about stopping down to get sharper images was informative. To my understanding, the M2 Viltrox for Canon is a "version 2" adapter...which is a bit sharper...I don't think the sharper version is available for Nikon glass (sadly). I watched another video in which someone went through pretty rigorous testing of the M43x, M2 and Metabones adapters. He determined that the M2 was sharper than the M43x...and the M2 was about 5% softer than the Metabones (hardly worth spending the extra money for the Metabones). Anyway, great video sir!
I don't agree. I have the Komodo, I love the image, but I wish it was something a bit more ready to shoot. What is the point of having a small cube if you have to rig the hell out of it? A tiny smaller and lighter Ursa would be the perfect camera
once you go for the higher specs like 6k or 8k Raw you will need to put a cooling fan. and there is no way you can put a powerful battery while having a DSLR or Mirrorless style body. BMPCC 4k and 6k battery doesn't even last for 1 hour. so most of the people endup rigging batteries in the back endup blocking the big display and then they put a external monitor. so Red Komodo style body make more sense. you have bigger battery in the back. for higher specs ready to go without need to rig anything Nikon Z9 style body works. Z9 doesn't overheat and have bigger battery but body is bigger like D4/D5.
