I have 2000 buck 110, my 12th bday present. My dad has a 80’s Buck stockman 4” made by Camillus with the carbon springs. I swear 440 from the late 70 and 80’s was 60hrc at least.
lol I literally got the Boker Plus for like 40 bucks on sale and it's an awesome KNIFE, but a mediocre FLIPPER at best. Literally ordered a nabalis earlier today.
Be aware that with Spyderco, if you need a 50 cent bushing for your knife pivot, you will have to send your knife back (paying shipping both ways) and pay to have it replaced. They will not simply ship you the part you need. I have a Domino with the paper thin cheap bushing that fails and it will cost me $35 to fix a $1 worth in parts. Their customer service is crap! Save your money and buy Chinese knives from good Chinese companies like Kizer or Land, they make quality products for a reasonable price.
Mine came today, it was a shock to see just how large and heavy this knife really is,it certainly made me chuckle to myself to : -) I enjoyed your upload, thanks very much and all the best.
I think you are missing out and your list is lacking because you Haven't handled or bought what many people feel is one of the best wonder is ever made, the Shaman. Not trolling as I appreciate your opinion and the content but you have to use the shaman before you can do a top 10 spyderco list
Dragonfly 2 - Rating 11/10. Love it. I have S30V, K390, VG10 (several) , H1 Salt and ZDP189. My favorite folders of all my Spydercos. I'll buy others but continue to CARRY the Dragonfly 2 for all the reasons you said. Oh, and I always have the WorkPro folding mini utility knife (don't ask, just buy it).... and a Streamlight microstream. EDC greatness for 10 yrs running.
Just got done figuring out which was going to be my first spyderco and first high end folding knife. Was between these 2 in the LW versions. Was between SPY27, Magnacut, and LC200N. If I could’ve bought a Native 5 salt with the blue handles in Magnacut with a deep carry wire pocket clip I would’ve bought that. Obviously that’s not an option lol. when i was looking online both blue SPY27 options were easy to find, and I found a Para 3 salt magnacut and a Native 5 salt LC200N. Ended up with the Para 3 Salt magnacut. Main reason I wanted native 5 over para 3 was strength in the lock and supposedly the tip. Those arguing for the native 5 over the para 3 made it seem like it was some heavy duty thick boy beater and the para 3 was some quick finesse pretty boy slicer. Nothing about the Para 3 in hand says weak to me. Haven’t handled a Native 5 yet but I imagine the ease in opening/closing has to far outweigh the little difference in strength there may be. Para 3 has a very strong tip and lock. Deep carry clip is better. Tbh I even really like the the yellow since the deep carry clip hides it well. I think this is my one and only for a long time to come.
I've got para 3 and delica both in very high end steels(s110 and k390) and I love them both. I carried a vg10 delica and endura for like a decade and still do sometimes. Got the para 3 s110 in my pocket today but overall I prefer the delica. I've decided I want to get a salt series in magnacut and couldn't figure which one to get. Probably be the delica if it was offered but seeing them side by side now I feel like the native 5 salt would be my best option. I get a design I dont have in a new steel I don't have.
thx, I want to dye my delica 4 k390 wharncliffe and dragonfly 2 k390 wharncliffe and never took apart a linerlock don't like the k390 blue so will experiment with dying them, if I don't like the result I'll buy a new micarta scales
After breaking a 6mm torx bit that I think I bought years ago off of a tool truck, maybe Snap-On or one of the others, I looked on line for reviews of tougher torx bits or screw drivers. The name wiha came up and so I ordered a 6 to try and will soon buy an 8. You'd think by now Spyderco would be using all 8s. Adding color like that is nice. Can you find the whole screws and pivots in color not just the screws? I was thinking of doing this to my Endela K390.
Deep carry pocket clip only matters for people who rarely use their knifes for working purposes. In and out of your pocket is much much easier with a normal clip.
Agreed. My beater work knife is a Spyderco Efficient, which is almost like a poor man’s Native 5. It comes with a deep carry wire clip, and I had to add a little paracord fob to the lanyard hole to be able to easily pull it out. It’s so obnoxious without it
