Real question: how good will the gold stay on? Lets say this book is used every now and then? Is there a possibility for the gold to wear of over time?

I once heard that in the past, books (maybe more specifically a bible) would often be a persons most expensive possession. So much work goes into that. That was amazing.
How much would it cost to bind a modern paperback book like this? I really like this Medieval Style book binding (all the decorations + clasp). Incredible craftmanship.
