We have a Malinois x Labrador. Who lives for the ball. We tell people who come by our place to not throw the ball but there's always someone who has to toss it then he will not leave them alone. Dropping the ball at their feet the entire time. If you can handle the ball craziness Malinois are amazing dogs 🐕.
I have a BorderCollie/GSP, all she wants to do, sunrise to sunset is fetch the ball…..in between fetches i tell her go smell…she’s supposed to relax and walk around, instead she continues to run around, sitting the ball down and goes back racing for it….she’s amazing, the first working dog I’ve owned, never quit…she’s only 2.5 yrs old!
I owned 2 mallys, lost them in a divorce. They were a mother and daughter, Eris and Devine. But my x gave them away to an unknown person in Montgomery, TX. I raised both of em since 8 weeks old.
I wish my lab was that obedient. He's highly food motivated, but can be quite ignorant, especially when I let him off his lead during a walk and he ends up being too preoccupied with sniffing the ground and won't come back when called 🤦🏼♂️. When he's not sniffing, he's listening. The sniffing is likely due to bitches being in heat throughout the year, marking all over the place which then gets the males sniffing the ground constantly. I had a collie x lab who would be nearly as fast and obedient as that Malinois, but I gave her up last year because she was too much and stressed me out too much because I messed up early on by giving her far too much freedom which caused problems that I couldn't fix myself.
Just like all humans can't be rocket scientists.... not all dogs can be trained like this. So many videos from people saying "your dog can be like this, just train every day!" What they're not talking about is how they haven't reproduced this level of training with 5-10+ dogs successfully. We're working hard on our adopted mal. We've yet to see a trainer who can help us with her dog aggression and people fear issues. Two trainers are AFRAID to be around the dog, and the others have taken some money and then did nothing.
Good for you, bad for humanity that you get almost 10mil views with something like this. The dog is an animal, not a toy or a remote-controlled device. Hopefully all the best to you soon.
I was talked into adopting a very expensive police trained Belgium Malinois. I had never heard of them nor prey drive. Fortunately, I had a German Shepherd and 3 acres of an old farm to let them run loose on. He would even wear out my shepherd 🤪
(NL) You know, on the one hand I wish my parents(both now retired, neither particularly _firm_ a person) understood this... But on the other hand, the mix of soft from mother's side, the firm of Father's... and _me_ the only one that actually took him out for a _Run_ that got him panting... I'm glad my folks managed to get Storm into the US K9 system.
I would love one of these dogs or a German Shepherd. But I know there is no way I would have the time or the dedication right now to give them what they need, so I will continue to enjoy these dogs on RU-vid.
I see people getting real eorking dogs. Because they see how amazing they can be. However they won't even see a trainer to go over the basics they think they come out of there mother and are just amazing. They don't under stand the hundreds of hours these doges need to do what they do. While you are never to get frustrated. When your dog calls on you to go do things with them like just go for a 3 or 4 mile run up a mountain then do a 3 hr bike ride. With them then you might just be able to get them to settle down enough to get them to learn some basic little things like sit, turn, right, left, etc.. My Dad taught a Border Collie to go to the store and bring back his tobaco and roling paper in a paper bag. This took weeks. Working with the dog as well as the people in the store. But that to me as a kid was amazing. These doge will do any thing for you. But there is a trade off you must work them and work them hard. They are mussel and full of steem that needs to be released. Have you got what it takes. You can never lose there trust in them or get frustrated and lash out with them. They are just a dog. They make mistakes. When they do you must learn how to disiplin with out disciplining. The dog will never stop loving you can you do the same. First you must seek profesional help. For you. To under stand the basics or you will be over welmed. That can not happen in the relation with these type of working animals. You and your mindset must be equal to there stamina. Good luck. And just have fun but you must be the one in control and control is needed at all times.
My family and I had the black kind for 11 years when I was a boy. She wouldnot let any on the property without following them around. She was a good fighter. as well.
Hate to break it to ya. European Dobermans are the exact same way. Mine is 8 now. I haven't gone to the bathroom alone without a ball or bone shoved in my face for 7 years now.
As the man was recording this video a woman in a bikini walked by causing him to be distracted. The only thing the man who is in this video is interested in is what's in that woman's bikini. Although you couldn't see it, the man's eyes lit up, his tongue dropped out of his mouth, and his mouth started watering.
