I am a retired soldier in the British Army which has included being a Physical Training Instructor. I enjoy training people and keeping fit myself so thought I would add my workouts to RU-vid. I am also a qualified Level 2 Boxing Coach, Judge and Time Keeper.
This channel will help you with improving your fitness for joining the army or if you just want to get fit using army style workouts. I generally specialise in bodyweight calisthenics but there are also kettlebell workout videos on here.
You will also find tutorial and informational videos about joining the army which many of my subscribers have found useful. I also go live on a monthly basis to answer any of your questions that you may have about joining the military and army life in general.
I am not a representative of the British Army itself or the British Army Recruiting Team.

Hello Sam I have just been invited to AC at Lichfield on the last week of this month. Thanks for all the heads up. Any advice on preparation for the assessment (commonwealth)
@MilitaryFitness oh ok... one more thing I need clarification on. Please, I'm starting basic training this month. I noticed in one of my letters that I won't be paid this month because of joining after 11th day. I want to know since I won't get paid this month, will it be added to next month(subsequent)pay?Thank you
I've got the bleep test for the fire service in 4 weeks, I'm stuck at level 5.7 but I've been lane swimming for 5 years and also cycling. What am I doing wrong? I honestly thought I were more than fit enough!!!
If everyone refuses to fight then WW3 wont happen they cant lock everyone up and if they do you'll still be alive this country doesnt look after its VETS so dont join up! No soldiers, no war ! The west is after Russia's oil and Gas dont fall for it ..................................when you get older and the British Goverment will come chasing ..................NI Vets
Good look with it as I’d go to jail rather than fight for my country politicians don’t give a shit about us so dam sure I’m not fighting for the spineless fuckers
Sir,first of all,i am from the other countrt(commonwealth) When i was 12 years old,i've been dreaming of joining the army, but suddenly,in my 18th yrs,i've been suffering from Sciatica, but, the doctor said that it's not much causing at all,and now,i am free from that pain, can i still join the Army. That's my dream after all.❤
So they make people redundant if they ain’t doing their job hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah.. BS they laid off a shit ton of guys with trades saying that they were over manned.. then a month later they were giving out stupid amounts of money for all these guys to come back and do 3 years return of service.. or the navy almost offering up to $50,000 to train ex army guys and giving them instant promotion up to petty officer… the MOD is a fucking embarrassment..
You mention about gym facilities.. I’ve never know a military gym to be open 24/7.. civvi street gyms are open 365 24/7.. also you are not forced to do excessive amounts of load carrying.. something that destroys your back and knees.. mmmmm go brainer guys

Theres nothing out there why not join the army it give you fitness disaplin a trade give you real friendship the time who would laid down there life for you and you them its all a plus you go in a kid and come out a respected adult ,with respect for others and most importantly your self ,plus you will have a trade
Are there other ways in the army to make money other than the salary offered? Like financial rewards for partaking in extra work activities? I’d be taking a pay cut to join the army so was wondering if any such thing exists
There are 4 bands of pay at each rank depending on job type , if you aim for a niche important job you can be in the top class of pay or a higher class , certain quals pay more if you can pass the courses , for instance the royal engineer army diver course offers you up to I think 800 quid a month extra if you can get to dive superviser I believe , but this is hard to do , joining the army isn’t about the pay though I would say , if pay is your main concern then maybe it’s not for you
Look at the benefits for not joining the British army.. I.e better pay. Better leadership training.. better opportunities to get better paid jobs overseas.. believe me after serving I wish I’d done my apprenticeship on civvi street..
@@ryanredmond5559 ?? Please justify your comments.. I clearly stated that if I didn’t join the military I’d be doing what I’m doing now way before if I’d never joined… the benefits I have now by far supersede what the army ever offered me.. the time I have with family by far exceeds what the army ever offered me… the training I’ve got and tools that I have by far supersede what I ever got from the military… so yeah I guess the army was the easy choice.. join the army sit on your ass and let the fruits flourish
@@garydonoghue4565how long were you in? I just did my basic training but I didn't get paid for 4 months and was having to use my savings to live off. So I broke down and ended up leaving. I was air force. I still struggle with it now tbh. I did actually want to join the army but my medicals weren't accepted
@@Sophyx93 and this is why the military as a retention / recruitment problem.. if they can’t treat new recruits with dignity and respect.. then there is no hope for the ones that are still in.. you did the right thing getting out.. videos like this promoting the healthy side of the military are pure conspiracy theory… do the research yourself.. it’s sad that you had to go thru this experience.. maybe this guy posting this content needs to be more aware of the current state of recruitment and retention and the on going court cases in the UK.. Not the USA
@@garydonoghue4565 yea they made me feel like it was my fault. Kept telling me I didn't need money because I was there. Gave up all my work for them. They tried to say it was an issue with my service number but then they admitted they've had many leave due to not getting paid for months. They kept me there a week before I could go home and no one spoke to me. I definitely feel anything bad about the military gets hushed. Then they told me they didn't need me anyway because they have new people coming in every two weeks but I saw many leave too.
Good evening sir , please I applied from Commonwealth and during my Visa application process I got denied and the army locked my portal but on my re application of the Visa , it has now been granted. Please how do I get to reactivate my portal and get a new assessment date . Thank you
@@MilitaryFitness a friend also suggested I booky ticket and travel to the UK , with that the army is going to process it faster as soon as they réalisé am in the UK. Sir please should I wait for their return feedback via mail or book a ticket and fly to the UK ? Thank you , hope to hear from you soon
I wish George Washington was still alive so I could ask him how his time in the British Army was. George Washington was the first president of the United States. He was the commander in chief of the American continental army that fought against the British Army and eventually forced the British army to surrender at Yorktown.
America copied the SAS and SBS when we saw the need, we finally returned the favor with SRR. UKSF saw what our ISA (“The Secret Army of Northern Virginia”) contributed and realized that they needed the same capabilities.
*Not so, complete nonsense.* It wasn't about realising a gap in capabilities and forming a unit to cover them. The roles that the SRR cover were formerly conducted by 22 SAS and the SBS, a point that completely refutes your claim. I'll state that again; for decades 22 SAS/SBS carried out the roles now covered by the SRR. A primary reason being the scope of specialities undertaken by 22 SAS/SBS was becoming unworkable, simply too much to cover by one unit, or between them. Hence the formation of the SRR to relieve that pressure. *Another point against your nonsense is that the SRR subsumed a former unit specialising in Northern Ireland that was also conducting roles similar to what the SRR do,* 14 Int., or fully; Special Reconnaissance Unit/14 Field Security and Intelligence Company. *This unit (yet another point against your claim) was trained by 22 SAS in elements of its role.*
I think thou protest too much. You are making my argument for me; this task was its own thing, deserving of it being a standalone unit. Agree to disagree, even if it is only about the origin date of the respective units. We are stronger together. 5 Eyes.
@@dennyo3992 Yet more nonsense, merely the type of defiant response of one knowing they are wrong. - I clearly refuted your claim that the SRR was formed to *cover capabilities not already employed,* and that it was inspired by ISA. Both claims being nonsense, that's rubbishing your argument, not making it for you.
hi Sam i have a question about the bmi test , i have a bmi of 31.1 and am trying to lower it as much as i can in a month and week i have until my assessment centre do you think i can head to basic training with this bmi? if i fail i will have to wait until march to do the assessment again and i really don't want to wait that long
@@MilitaryFitness its just a very long wait and i know if i train hard enough i can do all the other fitness tests its just my bmi that im mainly concerned over im 16 and just left school so i dont know what i would do for the 6 months wait other then work out
@@MilitaryFitness i just did the math and i would be losing around 8kg or 10kg in the 5 weeks i know i have if i work hard enough which can put me to 99kg or to 97kg and that would set me to a lower bmi of 29.9 would they accept me then ?
Hi sam i have a bmi of 31.1 and was wondering if i can pass with that i am currently working on decreasing it as much as i can in a month and weeks time if i dont or fail my bmi i may have to wait until march to re do the assessment centre ,do you think i can pass the bmi ?
Thanks for this, I often read and listen to military books and podcasts and it is not always easy to visualise how many soldiers are being described. This helps, I now know my platoons from my divisions. Many thanks.
Hello Dear, Hope you are well, and thanks. For your kind information, I visit your RU-vid channel. You are already uploaded 280 Video your channel. Your RU-vid video content is amazing. Needed 11 for my bleep test to get me into the “desirable” fitness bracket when joining the RAF. In training I could just about do it, on the day I got to 12.5! So don’t stress about it too much. If you’re fit, you will pass!
Thanks for the well structured video!! Interesting results! Makes sense that you can't work as intensely with a vest on as you can without, lots of variables to consider :) I guess all depends on what your training goals are. Nice video man!
Pretty misleading with alot of them good points quick Google searches will disprove alot of it such as accommodation standards for on camp and family accommodation pay rates are not attractive for most people unless fresh out of school with no responsibility most will take pay cut and quite a large pay cut adventurous training is a thing bit you'll hardly ever get released for it. Any good ops or exercises getting fewer and fewer and less time to enjoy it I agree with most the bad stuff and all you gotta do is look at the retention and wounder why we lost 16k troops to year ago and I think 12k last year when only 73k serving in regs Not all bad but definitely don't go belive everything about how good it is as comes with alot of crap too and most leave after 4 years now. Don't know anyone that wants to be in either stuck with retention, pension trapped or loaded with debt and won't take the risk to leave Education yea you get trained but alot of stuff now has lost its civilian certification until you do your class one that could be 5 6 years after you joined and 18 month retention after it finishes Education
A heads up for the leaderless task is that there's no expectation on how far you actually get through it. They're looking for the how, not the what. So if you're running out of time and you've not made much progress, don't start going to pieces, it doesn't matter!
