All spot on information! I grew up wanting to start riding trials bikes when watching Kickstart back in the 80's! Finally got my first trials bike aged 54 and i'm loving it! Even got my 14 year old lad started on a bike! Such a friendly sport to be involved with!
It is a fantastic sport for all ages,I will never be expert level but in this sport it doesn’t matter, everybody will help you feel comfortable no matter your ability. Best of luck getting to grips with the sport & thanks for the comment
Cracking trial, thanks for the upload Jon 👍 clutch like the brake levers/ pedal should be just there, so your not searching for them, means you maintain focus on the side, not on where your brakes are. Clutch you should have 3 fingers on the grip, the lever just clear of them and the bike not creeping forward or stalling. Outwards just enough so your 1 finger isn't too stretched. Not sure if that makes sense !!! Cheers 👍
Yea that’s how I’ve set the clutch up now. I have it set so I pull it in & when it hits my 3fingers it is disengage, let it out a bit & it starts engaging. Where I had it set wrong is I had the lever coming all the way out(lots of slack when you first pull the lever),I have now put the adjuster in to take all the slack out so minimal movement to work the clutch,it feels much easier to modulate the clutch now
@@jbstrials just a suggestion, you might want it to not touch your fingers, leave a small gap, especially if you wear gloves coz if you have a thicker pair or your hand is in a slightly different spot on the grip you might crush your fingers 👍 also take out any up and down movement, I use washers, it's a bit easier on your one finger. Gotta say your riding is coming on leaps and bounds, really good , well done it's great to watch 👍 congratulations on the bairn enjoy 👍
@@jackmckinnon3208 thanks for the tips jack 👍 It’s taken a while but I feel things are starting to click & feel more natural & that’s helping my confidence allot witch is improving my riding skills. I feel now from where I started 1.5years ago I have improved allot & take as much info from better riders in as I can
@@jbstrials it's a great sport with some awesome people, most of us are helpful and like nothing more than to see someone improve and enjoy the sport. If your at waterside next could you say HI to Matt sleep for me please ?? Cheers 👍
@@jackmckinnon3208 yes it is a very friendly sport. I’ve done allot of 2 wheel racing over the years & trials is the best for helpful people for sure. I’m at waterside tomorrow so will let matt know when I see him 👍
Thanks jimmy Yes I feel like things are starting to click & i am thinking about how I’m going to make turns & obstacles before I approach them as my skill set is improving, this has helped my progression & confidence massively. I have just completed the second round(video to follow shortly)& took 18points off from this score so a massive improvement for me. Thanks for the comment & for watching the video’s 👍
This one was the first round of the evening summer series at Selby trials park in corfe mullen dorset 👍 Thanks, considering she is 8months pregnant she did well for her first time recording & hopefully she can do more in the future
It is a fantastic sport for all ages, there are quite a few 60 plus riders in our club,my bike now is a vertigo nitro 200cc & I started on a beta evo 200cc. The beta was a fantastic starter bike but the vertigo is for me a much better bike & allowed me to progress my riding much easier as everything on the bike worked nicer & smoother so was much easier to ride & balance on
Yup that's an awesome venue rode it many times over the years. And yes, it's a killer when it's wet !!? Thanks for the upload and trip down memory lane 👍
I found it very difficult in the wet as a novice rider.last year was my 1st year riding but last year felt much easier as it was dry. Unfortunately due to wet weather this year they didn’t do the 1st few river sections & I really enjoyed that bit last year
@@jbstrials it's pretty unforgiving in the wet as you saw. But that's trials in Dorset, great when dry, bloody tough when wet !!! Some great rides though without a doubt , good to see 👍
@@jbstrials yeah it always was a friendly club, as most trials clubs are. It's a great sport , both riding and the social side and it's the same here in Canada. Never thought I would ride again after I left Dorset 20 some years ago, but here I am, still riding, still enjoy it, still making friends. Thanks for the upload 👍
The throttle body has a brass air bypass adjustment screw that can be used for tick over adjustment. Using it does not put the TPS out of calibration,. It works the same as the Monty FI adjuster, CCW (turn out) to raise engine speed. I have found on my 2023 250 it has a lesser effective range than on my Montesa. I set it to 1400 rpm, up from 1200 as delivered, I have yet to foul a single BPMR6A plug while burning Canadian Chevron 94 Non Ethanol.
The music is dipped when I’m talking, most people say you need music to keep people engaged in the video,I am new at this & am trying my best to learn the editing process etc
Thanks for this vid. I'm 62 and haven't riden for probably 35 years. Thinking I'd like to get into it for my retirement years. Going to have a look at some club days here in Australia. Great advice all round
Thanks steve I’m 42 & only just started but will do it for years now, there are guys that are 80 in one club I ride with. Defo get back into it if you have some local places to ride, you won’t regret it
Standard is a 6 but I run a 4 that allows it to run a bit hotter to burn off the fuel as it was running a tad rich. My running issue went away so it must of helped
come to the bridport and weymouth mcc trial 23rd april 2 laps 20 sections about 4 miles all off road just up the road from otter vale trial , cracking trial on acu website now
I am booked on to the north porton farm trial. I did it last year as the first trial on my new vertigo nitro so looking forward to getting back there 👍
Good evening, love the video as I own a 250 JBR myself, do you know where I could obtain some half dome plugs to protect my frame as in your review? Cheers Kev
Hi Kev The JBR is a fantastic looking bike & I love my 225cc bike. These are the one’s I got for my frame,25mm ones & they just tap in with a rubber mallet. Hope this helps cheers www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155004263407?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=7mzay4pntzc&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=skbxnNDDSn2&var=455170188344&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@jbstrials I have a TXT w a DellOrto carb &, try as I might cannot get it close to yr Vertigo. Playing around with ith jetting, needle adjustment etc. is fun, but after a while I've had enough.
Wow bransgore has changed since I was last there ?! Mind, that would have been 1999 !!? First trial waterside had there would have been 1981/2. Great channel hope to see more from waterside and Waltham chase , cheers
I don’t have the plug code to hand but it has a 6standard I put in a 4. I am going to put a scott oiler adapter in the air box with a short length of pipe going into front of bash plate
All you need to do is adjust tick over at 1400 revs/mn. No more than 30ml synthetic two stroke oil to 5 litres of petrol. Then keep the 6 spark plug and everything will be fine. The nut is 7mm and the Allen key is 2mm. Apart from that, very good modifications you've done to your bike. Congratulations. 👍
Next time I will take a better camera. I thought the iPhone 13 would be ok but quality is a bit poor unfortunately Very good show just a massive shame Toni bou had a bad crash
