I think a lot of these singers that don't become as famous as she did aren't willing to do the extensive world wide interviews and touring. That's important.

Absolutely love this book! Definitely interesting characters. And hearing the podcast has given me even more insight into what is factual vs. fictional in the novel and helped me to connect on a deeper level with the characters. Enjoyed this interview
This is ridiculous. So you're revising history make him straight, when he lost his throne for being gay? Congratulations you've just joined the most unoriginal group of historians. Omissions of homosexuals or revising the story to make them straight is as old as Achilles and Patrocles. This isn't history, this is offensive and homophobic.
Thank you for this - a fascinating interview (although it's not complete). He was a complex, highly intelligent man, ahead of his time. I just wish he'd had more success after Python but his tragic early death put paid to that.
