Though for some reason the film adaptation of this masterpiece of short story horror didn't seem to do well in theatres, I loved Daniel Radcliffe in The Woman In Black. I felt he really captured the essence of the character, and the film itself was done beautifully. The Nine Lives Causeway, the island the house sits on plus the house itself, were all beautifully done. Yes, the story was slightly altered from the book. But I can abide that. Films need events and actions to keep plot driving forward for viewers. You cannot really get into people's thoughts the same way as you can when you are writing. So I expected some changes. I still love the film. If you have not read the book by Susan Hill, please, please do so. You will not regret it. She has another short story called "Dolly" that I highly recommend as well. Just as unsettling as The Woman In Black.
In the early 20th Century, vidowed lawyer Arthur Kipps travels to a remote village at Eel Marsh House, where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman in black who terrorizes the locals.
The crow coming out of the fireplace made me jump more than the other jump scares 😂 and who was the other ghost at the window? still baffles me who that could have been, anyone know? anyway, very good movie have it on dvd.

Saw this done by a local theatre group. Was so mesmerised by what was happening, when the woman in black walked down the aisle on my right and her dress brushed my arm I just froze. My daughter shook me to get me to breathe again. Now I know why people don’t run away in scary situations. You literally can’t move. Loved the show so will now watch the movie.
Just watched this movie recently and as a horror film fan I was very skeptical of Daniel’s performance on what it would be but he smashed it! As with the musicals and plays you always think he’s Harry Potter until the stage lights come on or when he’s in another movie and the camera turns on he’s always impressive.
I remember my sisters gossiping about watching a horror movie, and me trying to be the bravest 8 year old in the world said I wanted to watch with them, they said ok but warned me that it was scary, I told them I could handle it, well this is the movie they played and even though I kept my eyes closed for 90% of the film I was still traumatised for a year
After this movie I had to do pee As a indian I was gone outside to do And there was lots of tree And I was just not trying look those trees (Sorry for bad English)
This movie must be relating to a movie called "Insidious", there was a man who wore a wedding dress which is in black colour killing the real owner of that dress and started to kill people . Maybe..dunno
