Ladd has what you call easy speed. I got to watch him from when he was 6 through high school. When he's running it looks like he his even with a guy and then in two steps he just pulls away without pumping his hands harder or anything that would indicate he is going at a full 100%, but somehow he just pulls away. Another thing about Ladd is how fast he catches on. He played RB, QB, WR, CB, KR and punt returner in high school. He was not a great route runner because he never got to play WR full time. In the summer after high school, he gained weight and actually got quicker and much better at running routes. He was cooking guys at camps and private workouts. He is the king of double moves and often makes DB's look silly like he did at Senior Bowl practice.

First off Kobe was not a inefficient shot checker he led his team in assists more times than not and a true shooting percentage of 55 percent was way above league average at that time because Kobe not only played in the slowest most inefficient era of nba history but also played against top 10 defenses and all time great competition more often than not. Kobe Bryant’s defensive stats will not be that good compared to other all time greats because Kobe’s on ball defense is something that the stat sheet will not show. Dennis Rodman never averaged more than 1 steal or block for his entire career but many consider Rodman an elite defender because his on ball defense was able to force the player he guarded into bad shots or passes. I will say tho calling Kobe one of the 10 greatest defenders ever is overrating his defense but he was a very good even elite defender. Kobe Bryant during the later years of his career became more of a vocal leader on defense which is reflected in his defensive box plus minus which was 1.7. Kobe Bryant was robbed in 03, 06 and 07. Tim Duncan had a great season but it was the playoffs that were really spectacular and in the regular season I do believe if you put there numbers side to side you would find Kobe’s are better. In 06 and 07 there is not single stat you could show me outside of efficiency that favors dirk or Nash over Kobe. If you believe he wasn’t the best in 06 and 07 or 03 you could argue there wasn’t enough team success and that’s your perspective but how is he not the best in 08,09,or 10? He had all the individual greatness finishing at least top 2 in the mvp award but was first in the west all those three years. Last thing I will say is this Shaw was better in all those 3 finals nobody is debating that but through the entirety of the 2001 and 2002 playoffs Kobe led the league in win shares and PER during those playoffs and even during 2000 Shaq doesn’t even get to the finals without Kobe because they don’t make the comeback in game 7 of the west finals. Phil Jackson literally told Kobe to score less because Shaq would lose all the fire within him. Kobe belongs in the discussion with any player other than Michael Jordan.
