If franchise calls most of these white ball players from the West Indies, they going to play white ball. When West Indies call these guys they turn it down for these weaker franchise no disrespect intended…. Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, are the two franchise money league players…. They won’t get to play first class… would any first class like the English county or Australian shell shield pull dem in and expose dem to proper red ball? Per haps even India? King and Hope have turned down test against the best teams, but I bet if we call dem for Bangladesh Sri Lanka or weaker associations teams they just might take it who knows. But for me they should just walk back in until they play vs New Zealand South Africa India England Australia. If they continue turn down these calls just move on. As for Mayers. Most T20 leagues globally lose money, as does the 100. Ultimately private investors need a return. Unless they can see a path to profitability private investment might prove difficult to obtain. This might be a stipud idea and reflect my age but might value in thinking about reviving the old Sunday League as a 20/20 competition? OK you could not get overseas players in same numbers, as it would be months long format but if marketed properly a 20/20 on Sky every Sunday afternoon in June/July/August (stop when premier league starts as you cannot complete with this) could get a decent audience.
Was just about to comment this, certainly away from home a much better option with the ball, I assume this is the plan tbh but this podcast always seems to forget him… maybe I’ve missed something or they just don’t want to assume considering his injury record
@@davidhull2998 we know that but he’s an elite bowler, we don’t have an 8 that can bowl well in Australia, that’s the issue so the best option is your best bowler in those conditions and hope it works out.

Stokes is a good Captain but no near close to great captain material and there is no ceiling for him to become outstanding Captain. Stokes came to India in Tests and scored below average score. Guys you just need to play spin better that's all is your problem. By over praising Stokes you are humiliating your one of the best T20 batters Butler. Stokes is an average bat when compared to Barstow, Butler etc l.

Ireland hasn't done enough to demand more money. Regarding that, I agree with Tector. I'm no apologist for the ICC, but realistically they can't finance every perennial underperforming team in the world.
More than unneccessary, very jarring. If they got Yas to do it then it would be just about understandable - but to bring in some new, random and unidentified guy to do it in a totally different tone and style to the podcast is one of the weirdest things I've seen.
A disgrace that no highlights of the England games were shown. I missed Tammy - why on earth isn't she playing? A dismal NZ side with players either past their best or not good enough - probably 5 we won't see again. I live in NZ now and follow their domestic cricket. Plimmer has been sacrificed as an opener. There are good young players, it's time to move on.
Last idea, the big 3 should help support teams around them. For instance, England should help support Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. India should help Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. Australia should support WI and maybe Zimbabwe. I know they are really near Australia, but they are the ones that need the help

Maybe there should be ICC central contracts, especially for players in nations not in the big 3? Where say a Zimbabwean player gets paid from the ICC. With different levels of payment for their position in the team. So, the main players get x amount, fringe a different amount, and bonuses for performances. And have a payment for touring sides to cover costs.
Regarding Michael Pepper's fantastic 100 against Sussex, worth mentioning 19 year old Charlie Allison who scored 44 off 26 and shared in the match winning unbeaten 121 run partnership. Not 100% sure that Pepper will play for England, but there is no doubt that Allison will.
It's amazing that for all the criticism American sports leagues get from outside the US they are so far ahead on the revenue sharing front. I think the Green Bay Packers in the NFL are always already in profit prior to the season starting just on account of revenue sharing.
The reality is the the various T20 leagues should pay Finder's Fees to the relevant boards. Let's say 10% of the hiring fee of each player. That'd make a huge difference to the organisations that develop these cricketers.
