The budget for a game like this is about $10-15 million (Sandrock was about $12 million in total). Kickstarter is basically extra money and some more wiggle room.
I know they said they never use AI art for the characters, but there's a lot in that line up that looks strange. Shadows that don't make sense, mismatched shoes, what looks like the duolingo owl on that girls bag?
I totally agree! And looking at that big announcement photo, the female main character's hair and the shading on that rifle just scream AI to me, even after seeing the time lapse. Are they just painting copies of the AI generated references that they admitted they use?
It seems like Project Me got scrapped and this new game took the place, but i love this idea more than a mobile game! Also i wonder if Logan will appear in this new story as well😅
As a person of color, I felt very represented in Sandrock. I’m originally from Texas and it’s very diverse. Sandrock really came through with their representation of colored people.
@@fireskinsidhe People should really stop to confuse game and social documentary. Not all game have obligation to have representation in the first place. If they want all them white they have the right, that not a crime. Same if they want them all black or all Indian or everything. That not our world, that a work of some authors. And if you want, you can create a person of color. White washing is a change, a transformation of a person of color to white. That not the case here, that disrespectull what you saying. That would be good if they had some so.

Thank you for the video! I have not been keeping up with the news of this game all that much, so I'm happy to have someone else doing it for me. 😂 Some random thoughts on the NPCs names: Freya being a farmer/plants girl makes sense, with Freya being the Norse goddess of earth and fertility, with her twin brother Freyr being a god associated with agriculture. As for Ragnar, well. Sexy Swat Officer named after a legendary viking warrior is just plain fantastic! 😍
I hope they keep improving the character customization. Sandrock was leaps better than Portia but it was still lacking as far as creators go. They make such flawless facial hair on the npc but the main character looks like he has playdough on his face 😂 The makeup is also so nice on the npcs but we tend to look like a toddler who got into their moms makeup bag

I would love for a conclusion to the Aadit story. I never had any of my Portia builders marry the guy, but it was heartbreaking enough when he was just a friend. I just want to know WHY
I married Fang in once play through. Couldn't tolerate his daily drug pushing. After that, it was Logan all the way although something deep inside wanted to marry Pen.

I agree. I understand suspension of disbelief, because "it's just a style", but it becomes difficult when my character looks roughly 13 and there are still young women like Amirah, Grace or Heidi in the game :D
I cant wait till i play this on console i am extremely excited to play it because i played my time at Portia and sandrock and i cant wait to get this game and i will play this game all the time
i think its going to be highwind, or possibly atara. i dont mind helping with the kickstarter but i definitely wont do early access, or buy the next game until they are done with all the post official release patches/fixes. the first half of my over 500 hours in sandrock (PC) was very frustrating with all the bugs and crashes. im just finally really enjoying my time at sandrock.

I think they will re-build the Project ME seeing as there is one of the characters in the screenshot also obvious similar environment. I think they will heavily edit the story, but probably keep the original idea behind it. In theory, they have a pretty blank lore so they could also move the location without a problem (that Sandrock world map doesn't tell us much). But seeing as Avery is here, I doubt he would appear just in any random location, so near Duvos is the best bet I've not followed this project much, mostly what came on reddit and that trailer. But I hope they don't go teen Logan route. I honestly had a lot of fun in Sandrock with easter eggs from Portia, even having our builders just mentioned was super cool. But I do like the theories that his mother was the one in the trailer
You're right, they can literally do whatever with the story and location, but close to Duvos makes sense. Fortunately I don't think teenage Logan is even a possibility. Turns out Project Me was supposed to take place a few years after the events of Sandrock/Portia, with Logan's Monster Hunter Guild already up and running. Logan's mother showing up would be a cool touch, and it would tie things up nicely. Now all I need is some hints about Aadit.
@@leafandgames Few years after MTAP and MTAS would be amazing. I was honestly confused about the timeline when i was playing MTAS with the missions, mentions and character appearances. What are the chances that that white haired woman from the trailer is his mother? Her disappearance was always deemed strange. I also know some people theorise it's Ursula, but she's too young (tho retconning is not uncommon) I need Aadit to do some explaining... But I hope we get more knights and duvos characters from previous games. It's always fun plot when they are involved. And I hope a certain someone will be out of prison

I know what you mean. But yeah, I missed all their previous campaigns as well, I discovered the series a month before Sandrock went into Early Access. I'd like to contribute this time even though I sure won't be able to afford high tiers.
The scenery is gorgeous! I hope it isn't heavily into the "city builder/ governor path ME was, I'm not a huge fan of that type of game. Pathea may surprise me though and make it feel different in a good way. I'm looking forward to it!
Frankly, I'm not a fan of management games either. Not in the slightest. All I want is my tools and my workshop. But guys at Pathea were talking about wanting to make a regular My Time game with city building elements even before Project Me switched from mobile gacha to premium, so I suppose they won't let go of that idea easily. Besides I shouldn't be designing ANYTHING. I can't even design my own lot properly, let alone the whole town :D But if it's as easy as it was in the mobile alpha, it shouldn't be much of a problem at all. Still gonna look wonky when I'm done with it :D
As a solely console player I was skeptical of Sandrock since the Portia version was so terribly handled. However they really stepped up and proved they do care about their whole audience, not just pc with them doing the Sandrock port in house. Definitely have my support going forward. ❤
I feel cheated with My Time at Sandrock. I paid full price for game, but then later it was reduced. For the same price, I could have had the game and the update. So I wont be participating in their new kick start.
oof sucks that it went on sale so soon after you got it, I can see how that would be frustrating. But it's not really their fault though. It's normal for games to slowly reduce their price as they age + Steam and other platforms run those sales regularly each season (the summer sale being the biggest sale Steam does every year).
The KS is not a game purchase, it's a support campaign to finance the game. It's to show the devs that their project is viable and that we're interested and will probably play it. It has nothing to do with a normal purchase on Steam. And yes, you're right, if you're patient, you can wait to buy a game until it's on sale with a big discount. In any case, I'm going to support their campaign, because I loved Portia and Sandrock and I also know how much care, creativity and love they put into their games and how hard they work to get the result as perfect as possible, and how much they listen to their players. I have infinite respect for Pathea and her team.
As far as I know the price hasn't changed since the game's full release. There was a couple of sales, but they are a normal thing. I missed many sales in my life. If I felt cheated everytime I bought a game that got cheaper at some point, I'd stop playing games altogether. Of course it's your decision if you want to support the studio with your own money or not, and nobody can tell you what to do. But I don't think that missing a sale is a fair reason to be disappointed with the studio itself.
Oh, you an me both. The previous version of the anouncement mentioned it's not gonna be "My Time to Wait" this time, whatever that meant. But then they edited it, so it probably didn't mean what we would like it to mean 😅
Happens in singleplayer too nowadays, just find the same options text that's shown in this video, then check options until you have one with 2 selections. Top one is language, change to english and apply :D
Guys guys i thing i found a secred! Elsie from sandrock was gone and after she comes back there was a picture of panah and elsie they both meet panah is from atara and with a group of monster hunters!😮
