Creating has been a passion of mine my entire life. 3 years ago I decided to quit my 9-5 and become a content creator full-time. On my channel, I'll teach you cinematography techniques, gear reviews, and other ways to improve your creative skills. If you're new to the channel consider subscribing.
Yo man I’ve had this set up for about two years and you’re so right on the limit of information available or people simply just call it crap and give up. I’ve got mine dialed in pretty bad ass now and have done speeds on interstate with zero issues. My main reason for this comment is this was the best tutorial / feedback on the arm I’ve seen put together and a lot of which I already encoperate on my current rig from trail and error. I’m shooting an all original GTR R34 v spec tomorrow and couldn’t be more pumped. I’ll be encompassing some of this for sure!! Subscribed 🤟
We have this issue currently. 5 years after this video was made. did Sony ever address it? we're looking at a huge service bill to make the camera usable again.
a much less expensive option...AWESOME! i just shot a 2-day basketball tournament from like 8am until 7pm. i didn't want to spend $$$$ on a cine saddle but i wanted to see what it would've been like using one. so i filled an old lowepro sling bag w/ a towel and voila! worked like a charm!
I own over 30 lights that I’ve purchased over the last 5+ years. For small nimble lights that can power off a vmount for hours would be nanlites forza 60’s they have all different versions and super versatile. We’ll rig them up on rafters using cardellini clamps, they have softbox, projectors, fresnel modifiers the list goes on!
I don't bro I grade everything manually after taking 5 colorist courses over the years. DM on IG tho if you have questions how to get more out of your looks I got you! @im_jasonanthony
This video was so helpful. I’m just starting in this and so far I have a few businesses that are willing to let me come in and do some promo vids. I am doing them for free as I do believe that offering that, building a portfolio first is key. So I’m glad you said that haha.
I haven’t used Amarans 60w but own nanlites version and have about 4 of them. Not enough to key unless it’s more a RU-vid talking head but for an edge or hair light they’re amazing.
@@ImJasonAnthony Thanks for simple interviews and talking heads I might go with 2 Nanlite FS-150B lights. As long as I can plug them in and remote control them with my phone that's all I need.
We’re grateful that you chose to post this video. We’ve been looking for slim cable tie downs for the longest time and have never heard of the Smallrig ones you mentioned in this video. We were able to streamline and slim down our rig. Thanks again for the upload!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this! As you guys were wrapping on the gig, you were talking to one of your guys about the Sigma lens not talking to the Sony. It’s getting me a little concerned because I have several FX6’s and a few Sigma lenses. Is this something to be aware of? Thanks!
Sweeet!! When you do, could you let me know the difference between that and the MOVMAX RAZAR? Cuz again, no one, not even movmax channel helps me see the difference besides the means of mounting.
Their site is going to be up and running soon they’re doing a makeover, like I mentioned in the video DM them on IG tell them I sent you and you’ll receive the order form and they’ll get it squared up
Was nice to come across you guys, excellent work brother! All the way from central Canada and we use the LA, Chicago, NY apple box lines as well. Would love to work with you one day!!
Hey Blake, appreciate you! We’ve had this client on retainer 2 years now and they’re based in San Franscisco. They’ve been on one project in the past out of I’d say 15 by now just because they were in town. They provide concept with the device and then we’ll mood board and shotlist for the project. When it comes to this client they want everything super straight forward. Not the most epic things to be shooting but solid pay days and get to have some fun with the crew!
Jay!!! those final shots were super clean. Love how the team is also vibing together and creating. Appreciate you dropping those industry term nugget’s 🫡
I appreciate your honesty, I just wish more creator were honest with their reviews, here is my policy " you lie to me on a video review" I wont watch your content anymore simple as that, I just move on to the next until I find someone like you. subscribed.
Great channel! Love your work and the bts! Anyway I could see all the reels/videos from this job - im sure they are dope and would love to check them out. Cheers!
This is a great question, the back of the LCD screen already has a dedicated zebra toggle on and off so I just left it. If im being honest I use waveforms and false color more for my exposures. Zebras I haven't used in years!
Hey Jay, awesome video I appreciate the BTS - I'm learning a lot. At 9:12 I saw S&Q mode. Can I ask what you guys were shooting in that mode / why it was shot in that mode?
Hey Brad, great question, so S&Q allows playback in slow motion vs just filming in the standard 60fps rate. The reason why we chose to shoot some of the shots we knew would be slowing down in post is so we could watch playback on site and see how the slowmotion shots looked. This allowed us to move faster once we have the shot. I toggle a lot between S&Q and standard 60FPS depending on the shot. It comes down to knowing the camera and when you want certain shots and playback!
As someone struggling to understand Log conversion, this video has brought me happiness. Thank you so much. I feel more confident now to approach colour grading.
Thank you bro! Trying to get the personality out more haha its hard I swear second I hit record is some proper guy speaking and I'm like nah they need the real me hahah
@@ImJasonAnthony Hahah I feel you 100%. It seems easy but it’s something you really have to consciously think about. Great that you’re self-aware of it!
Hey if they work for you thats amazing! like I said I do like the X100, the cine whatever its called just cant dial it too accurately and drives me nuts
I have the x60 and x100 - they are not even what I would consider professional lights. They get the job done but the fan noise is a joke, they are louder than my Skypanels that are 5x brighter but take up a larger footprint. I got these for travel run-n-gun lighting shoots where I won't always have edison to rely on and they are great for that. Thankfully the noisy fans can get notched out in post if they are picked up by the boom ever, with 10 seconds of room-tone capture, with Lavs I have not found the fan noise much of an issue (Even though these little suckers are louder than a gaming computer sprinkled with Dorito Dust).
I'm a NYer living in LA for the last 15 years. gotDAMN I miss my peoples. I can see myself and all my homies from back home in the way you talk. Not just the accent, but the sentiment and realness behind what you're saying. Super refreshing in this space. More please. Also, wish I'd seen this video a couple of days ago. I just ordered the x100 pro package for a shoot I'm traveling across the country for. The good news is I don't REALLY need it because lighting is handled, but I just thought it'd be cool to try out one of these tiny lights that you can just throw in your bag and whip out once you've already got your shot and are just kind of playing. Should have gone with with one of the competitors! Anyway, you got a new subscriber!
Man appreciate the kind words, we’re just built different! I’m sure if you need it on the shoot it’ll be usable bro, I was just bringing to light my findings that others never seemed to have mentioned on it.
