Thank you Mike for posting this video. Between the Pure Drive and the Pure Aero which is better for you? Since I was a teenager I used the old Pure Drive (Carlos Moya version) and now I have this Pure Aero but I still feel that it doesn't fit me very well yet.
They changed the names in the line up, so quite confusing. The 2021 Prestige Tour is the new version of the 2019 Pro. The 2021 Prestige Pro was the 2019 MP. The 2021 Prestige MP was the 2019 Tour.
The 95" Prestige Tour seems to be more close to a 96.5"-97" when I compare them side by side with my other brand 97's. as far as I can tell the Prestige Tour is pretty close to the actual racket Djokovich is really playing with analysing his actual racket specs and pictures of it on tour. Beam, headsize and shape and string square size and yoke grommets. Paint it in Speed colours and you have almost what he plays with but the 2 extra mains . I think they had to name it a 95" as Head has a clause/deal with Djoko not to sell his racket on market before pension.
I think styling and cool factor should be one category. and I think you lack a spin category. For pure playability you should leave the styling/cool factor seperate when summing up.
Just seeing this today! Don't know how I missed it 🤷♂️ Thanks Coach Mike! excellent review! Have you been coaching? Hope all is well 🙏 appreciate you 👍👊
Great video. I have the Head Ti S6, and its indeed like hitting with a pillow. 23 kilos of tension. But I wanna try this one, and I love the colors. Should I change?
I'm no expert. But I love this racket. Excellent spin. Good control. And it just feels buttery soft. An underappreciated racket IMO. I fell in love with it after the first hew hits with a demo and am still playing it 14 months later.
Have you had the chance to try the 2023 Prestige Tour? I would like to hear your opinion on that one. Is it just a paint update or does the 2023 actually play differently from the 2021 version? On TW they state the Swing Weight is down by 11 whole points (to 330) but they lowered the SW on the 2021 several times as well. So the best way to know for sure (apart from buying one of course!) is a review by an experienced and knowledgeable reviewer (see what I'm doing here? 😀). Cheers!
I think the old one used the graphene 360+ and the new one uses auxetic. I definitely noticed a difference between the two. A touch more forgiving and larger sweet spot on the new one
@@MikeKomen Ok thanks Mike. Good info. So definitely not just a paint update! A slightly different stick but also a good one. A larger sweet spot is always welcome. I'll try it when it goes on sale right before the 2025 update is here ;-) Cheers!
Lately i m playing with last rafa generation witch is based in pure aero 2019 300grams.I ve used 2013,2016 and 2023 models and i find 19 model best overall .So how do you compare this new model to 2019?Power control manoevuradility and spin?
@@MikeKomen i think 2019 model does not shine in one characteristic ,but it makes it better as allround racket.2023 model was far away from aero fans.More control but less spin, weird vibrations that did not hurt my arm but it was unpleasant feeling. And the most important worst manoevurability of all last models,i could not deal with my onehanded backhand.I think that i ve played with many rackets that give you connected ohbackhand but aeeo 2019 was the improvement of all last models and an oveeall a very good racket!A little harsh on elbow ,but you cant have it all!
The origin was the one I wanted to review but always either unavailable for demo or out of stock :( we’ll see maybe later in the summer! Thanks for watching!
@@johncharles2357 Experienced playtesters and product technicians will disagree with you. If you use 1.30 mm steel threads in your racket your are correct. If we talk about co-poly, syn gut, gut... you will not be correct. These will change in the pocketing, dwelltime and energy transfer at different tension. You can also analyse the strings elasticity which ofcourse change/ decrease under more tension. You can take all the elasticity out by too high tension and make it basically non-responsive. This takes the power out from strings to ball and you are left with only the elasticity of the balls rubber when it decompress. This is good for very hard hitters but you are left with more of a board in especially in softer RA rackets. Softness/stiffness of racket also plays a role. Stiffer rackets makes the string interaction with ball more soft and therefore needs stiffer strings and/or more tension. So there is very much a window of elasticity in the strings that will give more or less launch and power/energy transfer to the ball. and this can be dialed in by choice of strings and tension. Im a product technician, stringer and experienced player. Its not a myth. its really easy to prove with a few of same rackets with same string but with different tension in the recommended tension range given by string and racket manufacturer. You can also test the string with a machine in the laboratory. We do have a lot of variance on the market like soft versions of a older string and not only for show and for feeding the myth. Medvedev went for a softer string to get more power in his shots. Power rackets are stiff. stiff rackets makes the strings work more in the stringbed. Power strings are soft if you pair a power strings with a power racket ( stiff racket with soft strings) you get a rocket launcher. Put a stiff string in a soft racket and you get a board to play with and you can barely get the ball over the net. Hard hitters on tour like Djokovich has a nuudly soft racket which they pair with stiff/soft string in hybrids or non-hybrids to dial power further.
Immediately when i saw that racquet i thought it had such an 80's retro look to it. I love that look so much i might have to pick one up just to look pretty on the court 😅
WHAT'S UP RU-vid FAMMM??? It's been a minute since my last video 😅 Happy to be back! I hope you guys enjoyed this review of the Pure Aero Rafa. I've got a ball machine review for Silent Partner coming soon, and it may include a discount code 🤫What do you think is the best Babolat Racquet available right now??
There is something wrong with the swingweight number for this racket. Balance is 32.5 and total weight is 315+17 (strings) That should amount to 332 grams with deduction of aprox 7 (balancepoint) . @34 no reduction, @33 5gram reduction, @32 10 gram reduction. @32.5 7 gram reduction. Swingweight should be therefore in the realm of 325-330. this is also the numbers for the 2023 version which basically is the same racket. Also the Mike Score says the Pro Staf 97 v 13 is more powerfull? But the stiffness is the same...the balancepoint almost the same. yet thr torsion stability is greater on the Tour. I think you need to string the Tour differently from the Pro Staff and you will atleast get equal amount of power.
Specs doesnt make sense. if its 315 gram unstrung then its not more than +17 with strings = 332 gram.... If its 5 points head light... then the swing weight is not over 330. So the numbers you display do not add up. Who meassured this?
This racket can be used by anyone and it crazy how its mainly for higher level individuals but i feel its very easy to use and grow with especially if you have a one hander, just lower the tension. Even at high tensions, it feels good, and i came from a pure drive 98, that racket blows. Really enjoyed the racket so far, just switched after demoing 10 rackets.
@@gammatnt depends on what you want. Higher swing weight has grown on me and flatter hitting 98s with thin beams. I really disliked stiff 98s. Pure Aero 98 Radical MP ISO 305 (bias because i use the SPEED mp 24 and its swing weight is high) most cant use this I hated the EZONE 98 PRINCE ATS Pure Drive 98 In the middle Extreme tour Blade Vcore 98
I'm a 3.5 and started a year ago, been playing with the pure drive 98 to help my backhand, it gets the job done, but even though i get through my lessons and makes much better shots now, the PD 98 is extremely jarring. I've considered the PURE AERO 100, but I'm afraid it will mess my one hander up. Would this racket be more forgiving (arm friendly) vs a pure drive 98 or is it also jarring. Pure drive is stiffer then the Pure AERO 98 for a example. Could use advice on a 98 for my one hander that's not so harsh on off hits.
@@MikeKomen Thanks, I demoed it for the last week, and its fantastic, I really don't understand how or why i bought a pure drive 98 when this exist. wth how is this so forgiving compared to the PD. My PD is gut poly, and it plays worse then a Extreme Tour with dead RPM blast. Its unreal to me that I wasted my money on a racket that bad. I want my money back
