What We Do Reston Association has a tradition of supporting and maintaining a high quality of life for its community members. The dedicated and committed association staff carries on the tradition through a variety of efforts, all of which are under the guidance and direction of the volunteer Board of Directors. Staff members work diligently to organize, plan, deliver and continuously improve the various programs and services that association members enjoy.
In addition to overseeing the architectural and maintenance covenants regarding property improvements and usage, the staff also supports the work of the association’s various committees, publicizes upcoming events and meetings and maintains common areas, recreational facilities and natural resources. RA is actively involved in advocating for its members at the Fairfax County government level.
We always love to see the new STEAM installation each year and learn the story behind it, making our beautiful lake an even more wonderful place to live. Thank you, SLHS STEAM!
I'm opposed to a casino just as much as I'm opposed to new residences that are within the bounds of Reston being excluded from RA. I wonder how much the developers are bribing to make it happen
I'm a Reston resident and am generally opposed to a casino here. But I would like to better understand in detail the arguments against it, and for it for that matter.
Thank you for your comment. You can find more information here: www.reston.org/reston-casino - Read RA’s letter to the community: conta.cc/48EAwyN - Learn more about the facts of a proposed casino: www.reston.org/s/Separating-Myth-from-Fact_-Proposed-Reston-Casino-zh6k.pdf
I bet you’d get more candidates if there weren’t so many bloated processes. Most can’t give up dozens of hours a month to sit on camera to talk bylaws and procedure
Further proof how out of touch RA board is. Because the developers line their pockets to avoid having new builds in RA the rest of us pay exponentially increasing dues every two
Can SLHS to do one at Lake Anne. I think far more people use Wiehle Ave than South Lakes Drive and commuters would really enjoy seeing these wonderful structures.
I'm really glad to have found this video as it will help inform my vote. I was a bit frustrated though as this was difficult to find. I would have expected to have found a link in the ra news or the ra election web page.
So good to see past critics, those who loved to try to denigrate leaders who created positive change in Reston, now step up to the plate and expose their nonsense. A shame that such a small percentage of residents keep track of what is really happening and even vote in these elections. An endless cycle of ballot harvesters with insane ideas (like firing Cate Fulkerson---may those 5 Board members forever rot in a dismal ditch) will likely "win" again.
