As the Virginia General Assembly gets underway in January 2024, Virginia is considering a bill that could put a casino in Fairfax County - specifically along the Silver Line. Following a vote by its Board of Directors in late September, Reston Association has voiced formal opposition to any plan to build a casino in its community.
“RA opposes any effort to develop a casino in the Reston community and is disappointed in the lack of communication from elected officials to RA leadership, Board of Directors, and members prior to introduction of the bill…We strongly believe that a casino in our community would be detrimental to the property values of our homes and inconsistent with our values as a community.”
Reston Association represents the 63,000 members of its organization and plans to actively voice its opposition to lawmakers and policymakers in Richmond. Share your thoughts below and/or sign the petition to tell the Virginia legislature that a casino would be a detriment to Reston.
