DO NOT BUY THESE. Not only do the alarms interconnect, the low battery chirps also interconnect. It is better to buy the hardwired interconnect alarms because wireless ones DO NOT interconnect well.
I would be helpful for you to show us and guide us on how to do the wiring. And also tell us what you did wrong when the green light didn't come on the first time, so we could know what to do to fix it if the same thing happens to us. Now, I'm stuck on the wiring part.
Kidde is glazing their worst alarms ever, like why, why did they have to change something that was supposed to cheap and great for a home owner into this disgustingness
I installed it on the ceiling and then tried to practice unplugging the quick connect plug. It was so impossible to unplug that I had to undo the wire nuts to disconnect it from the wires coming from the house. With the detector disconnected ftom the wire harness, I still could not unplug the quick connector plug (while pushing down on the small tab). The design of the smoke detector is terrible.
I have a feeling that there is going to be a new version of the SA520 soon with Precision Detection since i put clearance labels at my store. I think the new version is going to be called SM520-AC. I wonder if there is going to be a SM520V-AC. I also want the SM530V-AC.
I am interested in smoke alarms especialy interconnected because in my country we dont have forced any by law in residental buildings it denends on owner decisions to have some. It's forced by law in commercial buildings and from 2008 in new buildings or after rebuild that need approval so smoke alarms are relatively rare thing for us.
@SmokeAlarm_18 i found a kidde firex combination smoke & co alarm inside a home in greensboro nc during the 3d tour and a brk first alert smoke and co alarm aswell
