Very good video thank you for taking the time to post it. Weird request but since you asked. I would like to see a video of the magpul bipod compared to a very good bipod like an Accutac and the difference at long range but if you can’t make one no problem just figured I’d ask. Thanks
@@Reloadingallday is it worth it to invest in pricey bipods or are is accuracy the same with cheap bipods? I have a magpul but when I shoot a mile I think magpul doesn’t cut it I shoot better on a bench rest vise. I know what the answer would be but a real world test would be fun to watch.
This is the first time on RU-vid that I have seen an instructive assembly video with precise annotations and color effects to specify screw or tightening locations. A work of goldsmith that deserves a thumbs up. And a video that comes at the right time because despite its age and its initial priming defects, I fully intend to buy this press which I find more interesting than the Dillon which only has five stations.
Just want to thank you again for sharing this knowledge.... You have saved me from chasing my tail on looking for that perfect velocity node.... Just wanted to share that on a powder we were testing for a load there was very notable muzzle flash... on review of the velocity data for that powder load the ES was over 100fps and the SD for the sample size was over 20fps I attribute that to the powder was not burning completely inside the barrel causing the high ES and SD. So moved on to a different powder...
Good content and explanation... I did my own seating depth tests... I concluded 1) that the more I shot the better my shooting got... 2) seating depth can cause significant pressure spikes... 3) seating closer to the lands can help align the bullet in the bore... 4) chamber throat condition is more important than seating depth I'm amazed that a young man like you has so much knowledge...
nice one 👌 I bought a used m24 clone Short action though in 7mm-08. I guess the chamber was too long of the trimming was too short. I have to deal with a super hardcore carbon ring even iosso bore cleaner bronze brush corded drill don't have any significant impact on it.
@@Nanker63 thanks for stopping by and watching the video, hoped you liked it. As for the variation in speed, it’s an example for the class. Depending upon the propellant type and load combination, you can most definitely have a wide variation of velocity. Pick up some cheaper factory ammo if you have some time, in .223 and chronograph it, it can be really surprising.
You have definitely piqued my interest. I’ve been aware of case fill/load density but never looked at as the measure of consistency. Do I need the Beginners and Advanced course before taking the 1on1 to learn your take on load density and load development?
@@MrTenthlegion nope! If you have handloaded before, the 1-on-1 or advanced load dev class is perfect to discuss these topics. Both are the same price, ones in a class setting, and the other is a 1-on-1, same topics will be discussed. You can head to our website and sign up on the 1-on-1 calendar which is free, to discuss the course and what it all entails.
I shoot 20 to one F-class over PRS. I purchased the 6 CM with the chassis and it comes with a 26" barrel. I took it to a 600y mid range F-class competition. It shot a perfect score of 600 with 32 x's. The month prior it shot a 599 and the month prior a 598. Out of 180 rounds down range, for score, only 3 shots were in the 9 ring. That's MOA at 600 yards for 177 rounds out of 180 rounds. I was shooting off a Phoenix bipod and rear sandbag. My F-class rifles have Kelbly Panda actions with Bartein Barrels and Bix'n Andy triggers with my own custom reamers. This is an off the shelf rifle for 2500 plus 2k for a scope and this thing can shoot. Thanks for the video. I probably got lucky with my barrel, but still...
That’s incredible! Great to hear! I just ordered the chassis, and have been lamenting over what barrel/action to put in. Maybe I’ll just start with factory, and see how it goes.
@@harveymanfrantinsingin7373 Go watch Erik Cortina's RU-vid channel, he recently shoots his area solos at 500 yards, he has two videos in the last month. He's a world and national champion F-Class shooter and makes reloading products. He is impressed with the aero solus as well. Rob''s reloading channel has some recent videos with his aero solos build that shoot 1/2" at 300 yards.
I keep i simple. I want COMPLETE CASE FILL. I pick the powder that is fast enough to reach my velocity requirement, but slow enough to have complete case fill to get there. I have never not gotten small extreme spreads and low SD's. For what its worth, I have been shooting the same load for 15 years and it hammers no matter which rifle I'm shooting.
@@SPR_ACTUAL 46.5 Grains of N150 155 grain Lapua Scenar Lake City case any large rifle primer I have killed deer, Dall sheep, pigs, and the x-ring all with this one load.
I'm no expert but I was taught to find a powder that was fast enough to meet my target velocity and at the same time slow enough to have complete case to do it. My load development nothing more than a pressure test. If the biggest charge that didn't give me pressure signs wasn't fast enough I tried another powder. My favorite combo is 46 grains of N150 and 155 grain Lapua Scenar. I have been shooting this load for going on 15 years. Just imagine how many barrels I have gone through in 15 years. It works in any of my rifles(308W), in any condition. It doesn't matter if its my 20 inch AR10 or my 24 inch custom bolt gun. It doesn't matter if a rainy winter day in my deer stand or a hot summer day on the target line. THIS LOAD HAMMERS! This load has works so well for me when I recently spun on a new barrel for my bolt gun, I didn't even bother with load development. I just took old faithful to line, verified with a pressure check, and it hammered as usual. When I can't find my preferred components, 46 grains of BLC(2) and any 155 grain match bullet is my fall back.
I mean that makes alot of sense when talking about case capacity, generally its right before or just after the 100% CC. Good info here you'll likely get with experience anyway, as well as talking to the right people. But who doesnt like using a cheat code here and there.
Thankyou. I agree. I have 2 new guns coming, one familiar caliber and one new to me. I will pick good reliable components and change my load development. Main focus on the "right" propellant and the "best" bullet. Not so much on powder charge & seating depth.
@@kyley808 did a pretty low sample size test WAY back in the day. I plan on eventually really giving it the test it deserves when we have time and posting the results.
I've been loading three different cartridges lately and agree. All of them shoot tighter groups with compressed loads. This seems to hold regardless of jump to the lands. My 338WM shoots a 100% density load with a 0.170" jump better than the same load with a 0.020 to 0.030 jump but lower charge density.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Hello dude, at firist, good job, i like your videos, and, just countinue! I have question for you... Is it posible to buy separate rifle stock with folding adapter and upgrade him on that chassis, or not, or AP have some chassis with folding solution ? I cant find answer, and i am very interested about AeroPrecision Solus cometition 15" chassis... Thank you, best regards!
I’ve heard that Aero will be coming out with a folder, but it hasn’t happened yet. That said, MDT makes one. It appears that they might be the same size and shape, but I do not know that for 100% certainty yet.
The "chamber" bullet seating die in the arbor press is the only way to go for precision shooters. Keeps the bullet concentric, no flex or wobble from a traditional press, no marring on the nose of the bullet and repeatable accuracy to .001
When you look at chassis that are somewhat similar from multiple companies: Vision chassis: 1600 MDT elite chassis: 1600 C-4 chassis: 1999 AXSR AICS: 2760 Good Chassis in general aren’t cheap.
