C02 welding gas has doubled in price in 2 years as its in short supply in NZ even though apparently theres so much of it in our atmosphere its manipulating weather patterns? Someones lying to me 😂
Goddamnit Billy. I spent 2 years welding 2 cars together into 1, trying everything in the world to weld 22g sheet metal with my fluxcore. Everyone said it couldn't be done. I tried everything and still got tons of warpage. I even used a Variac to lower the power so that it wouldn't blow through every time, but I ran into another problem of the heat being so low that the flux would boil out through the puddle after a delay as it cooled and leave a pinhole every time. And then the panel would warp when I tried to fix it. Eventually I finished the car, but not without butchering the wheelwells and other exterior parts. This makes perfect sense. With long stickout and high amps, the flux will be pre-heated enough to actually boil out during the tack and not 1 second later that makes the pinholes. I HAVE NO MORE WELDING TO DO! The hours and hours of rework you would have saved me. Good thing you teach bondo too, because I'm going to have a lot of it to unmuck what I mucked up.
Billy those Milwaukee step bits are the shit. I just drilled several holes thru stainless with them and the work . Have a good one brother . I’m gonna win that damn welder.
