Well, first, trying to "kickstart" and engine is how my Dad nearly broke his shin when the engine backfired and he didn't get his leg out of the way fast enough. And second, yeah: if a diesel engine isn't running, it's because fuel is not getting to the cyls. Period.
This video is back again in my feed, and I see that people still can't read. It's a Norwegian Sabb engine NOT a Saab as in the Swedish car company that was bought and then years later sold by GM to National Electric Vehicle Sweden.
Obvious fuel delivery problem in the first episode.. . the hot bulb semi-diesel is a really old technology, and I am surprised it was still being made in 1955, but I guess if they had the castings and tooling.. why not ?
I think I can see your problem, if you look carefully there was a possibility of a crack forming. It was a midway, towards the back. You need to install a new belt... ...around your waist:)
you rock most people just mount that kind of motor to a trailer or there floor but you are actually using it for its designed purpose always good to see.

Don't know what Saab means in Sweeden, if anything, but in States "Sob" (pronounced the same) means sadness or crying. Potentialy accurate even in english. Perhaps "Saab" means smoking pain in the ass? Also accurate.
