Ye, carp has to inhale the bait first before he feels the hook. By the time he feels it, he's about to swallow the bait and basically has no other choice but to inhale the hook too.
All those foot long zigs do is spook the crap out of everything 😂 should be single baits only, forget the pellet. Just for the lone cruiser then it will always be big
Ha I keep asking Underfishing channel to do some 1-2ft zig tests but they never do so thanks 😄 You’d have caught more with simply a pellet on the bottom lol
It can work well... if the carp arent feeding off the bottom and just cruising.... but it's better to start with pops ups just off the floor and then move them up by few inches at a time ...after every fifteen minutes or half and hour...... As its similar to zig rigging ...but on the bottom it needs more care and subtle changes...as the carp might be cruising only 3 or 4 inches off the bottom. So if too high it or the line will spook them. Also although highly subjective...I find cream, yellow, red or darker pop-ups (and snowman setups) seem to work better than pink ....except sometimes in winter. But I guess that is also dependant on the venue.
These videos always make me realise how we take more attention to what looks good to us as humans rather than natural on the bottom of the lake . Look how crude these rigs look and still carp are taking. I’m strongly suggesting using drilled stones with rubbers for leads and material that blends better to the bottom
Wow! How the fuck do I ever catch fish on flouro pop ups? More over, how the fuck do yellow pop ups catch way more fish than anything else on the waters I fish? Looks like 'banded pellet' might work OK though.🤣
Clearly not how it works with fishing lol. Yes carp are mainly bottom feeders and some on surface which depends on the water/lake itself. But wether you use a pop-up or regular boilie on a clean bottom it doesnt really matter. Low pop-ups work better than high pop-ups, these just spook them off.
Sometimes bright baits work better , depends , if it s clear water dark colors will do , if the water is murky using dark colors can be ineffective due to low visibility
I have never used a pop up rig. Never. I couldn't work out why you'd even use one till I did some experiments with boilies and noticed after a day some would rise up an inch and hang there.
