Am all in favor of photographers doing that they want to do with their images. In a world where nature is being diminished more each day, I opt towards showing nature more as it is, not more as I want it to be. With the preponderance of artistic renditions, it's no wonder that more and more people are becoming detached from the natural world.

Do you cull your daily photos before you start moving them into your collection sets when on the road or do you keep every single file for every day and only work on what you end up putting in your collection sets? What do you do the all the xmp files that get transferred from your laptop to your NAS? Thanks for the video.

May I ask please how good are the stars in the middle top of the frame compared to the corners. If I was to do a 2 or 3 image landscape panorama with say 50% overlap to only mainly use the centre of the image, would I get significant improvement? Would you be able to put a couple of samples (with stars) for people to download to check out the stars on their screen please?

why is adobe colour not standard in lightroom its a great tool to see the colours and view of the Total image. I am using normal lightroom now and i really doubt. should i take the full lightroom CC, lightroom just slowly become one program with all the tools I think.

While I agree that you don’t need the latest camera to take great photos, having a modern body makes the life so much easier. I hated every single day I used my a6000: i had to fix the white balance of almost every single photo. I could never trust it to shoot in JPG. a7II was better, but far from ideal. Switched to a second hand a7III and most photos had a correct white balance. But auto exposure was still average. On the IV it’s much better. So yes… you can technically take your best photos with an old camera, but it’s much more work. If you are trying to get that one single stunning photo and throw away everything else, spending 30more seconds in lightroom changes nothing. If your workflow involves taking a lot of photos you must keep: it’s a problem

I have subscribed to your channel as of today because you show that you have a lot of experience and because of how easy it is to understand you. Congratulations. As for the "Smart White Balance" method, I perceive it as very subjective and imprecise. Do you know of another more precise method other than the automatic ones that Lightroom brings? Thanks.
@AlbertDrosPhotography
@AlbertDrosPhotography 8 дней назад
I find it a great way to judge white balance, but yes, it's subjective in the end. If you want super accurate white balance, you simply bring a grey card to the scene and take a photo of it each time you shoot photos. You can set your WB with your camera on that card. This is what people would use when shooting video. Or you can use the colour picker in LR to simply click the card, and your WB would be 'correct'. However, does it really matter to have a 'super accurate' white balance? Photography is about your vision and preference, so I see no issue with a subjective white balance by using the 'white balance trick'. Just my thoughts :)

Very true statement ... however, it will depend of course on your photographic genre. For wildlife, everybody can now take great photos with the help of eye AF and fast burst modes, no matter what brand you use. This was almost impossible 20 years ago.

An excellent video!!! Many videos on photo editing rely on the AI features of the application to imbue the image with what the algorithms “think” is good. This is fine … I use such photo editing applications. But to have an understanding of Color … its visual impact … emotion … is really fundamental to creating images that “tell a story”.

Thanks Albert, please tell me how to apply the extracted color theme to color grade the photo (that was uploaded to Adobe color) using Lightroom.
@AlbertDrosPhotography
@AlbertDrosPhotography 12 дней назад
You use Adobe Color as a guidance. Meaning you can spot distracting colours and then just adjust the colours in Lightroom. It would be super helpful if Adobe actually implemented Adobe Color directly into Lightroom or PS, but unfortunately that's not the case.
