The only thing bugging me is the tawny owl call in the center of the city. Makes as much sense as a lion's roar in a daytime shot. The photography is beautiful.
@@Grandroboroxhere in the Netherlands they are not uncommon in city parks, as those are some of the few areas with old beech trees and large nesting holes for them to live. I've seen a few in parks near the Hague myself.
This is truly an incredible piece of art. What an amazing gift to the city of Amsterdam and its people. As a budding timelapse enthusiast (and Amsterdam resident) I can't describe in words how much technical skill and artistic creativity is required to pull something as good as this off. Congratulations, Albert.
Goddamn. Definitely the best timelapse I have ever seen. I can't imagine the dedication it entailed. Thank you for this gem of a timelapse, truly wonderful.
Not sure how many times I have watched this but everytime I watch this and I get filled with more appreciations for your fabulous work Albert. You are a true artist who has captured the soul of a lively city in such finest measures. Your work will be inspiration to a lot of people. Thanks for inspiring people around you in such unprecedented times. Work like this video, will be always etched in memory of a lot of RU-vid viewers.
I am from the beautiful Greece, however I believe Amsterdam is the most beautiful European city for me. That's why i have been there four times and everytime i notice something different something new! This video is a masterpiece. Reflects in the best way what Amsterdam is. Combines a western Metropolitan area with picturesque and traditional architecture. It's a city full of life but in the same time gives you a calmness! In the video i saw all of these and much more reasons to love Amsterdam! This from a person who loves New York but after this video i would choose Amsterdam!Congratulations for your job!
New York is far from the list even in the US. Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Charlotte, San Francisco, & Austin are all lightyears better than NYC. And that's just to name a few.
The Sistine Chapel timelapse, I am a designer and I surely see this as a masterpiece, great patience and a lot of time dedicated to this work. Don't worry about the views, you won't want 500 million souls harassing a Mona Lisa, this world is not in good health. This work is a gem reserved for those who know how to appreciate it. Great work Albert.
Music production is not the best thing about it... the cinematic, transitions, time to do it (All the seasons are depicted)... for sure taht as the easiest part.
Großartige Arbeit! Da passt wirklich alles: technisch perfekt, tolle Bildsprache, moderne Videoanimation, Musik und Sound-Design! Ein Meilenstein! Ein ganz neues Niveau der Timelapse Filme. Danke dafür!
Incredible work. Truly inspirational as I have a good understanding of what is required to make a Timelapse video to this impressive standard. Well done!
This is without doubt the single most beautiful and astonishing piece of video I have seen focusing on my favourite city in the whole world. It is absolutely stunning. Wow. Everything about it is just incredible, the edits, the dissolves, the sound, the execution, the colours...it really does condense into just 5 succinct minutes what every other video on Amsterdam that I have trawled RU-vid for the past few years has tried to do....it even messes with your sense of time, the sheer relentless pace of the imagery and yet what felt like several minutes was only two...and then when five minutes comes along you feel as if you had just witnessed about an hour's worth of footage, and beyond! Getting those shots inside the tram is beyond astonishing! That sense of intensity of movement is all so real!! I have been back to the city 20 times in just over as many years, repeated visits made simply because I had long fallen in love with the whole Dutch way of life. Once I'd done the initial selected obvious 'tourist' sights from the first two trips in 1999, I didn't need to do that again, instead exploring wider and further afield and getting to know the various outer neighbourhoods of the city, including the Noord side across the river Ij....plus a few outlying cities too like Haarlem and - recently - the beautiful Utrecht. I really wish I could live there in the Netherlands though, unfortunately I am stuck here in the UK in another maritime city with a lot of undoubted history but not much decent [social or other] infrastructure: the place of my birth - Liverpool. This unbelievable little film just makes me yearn to be back there seeing those exact same landmarks and sights all over again......what a masterwork! Thank you!
Wauw zeg, mooi gedaan. Ook met alle seizoenen die voorbijkomen. Uiteindelijk is het regenachtige miezer weer ook iets dat gewoon bij de stad hoort. Goed dat dit ook voorbij komt :) I still get the shivers seeing de Dam empty.
Albert, that is a stunning piece of work. I'm an expat living in Amsterdam and love everything related to the city - this has to be the best short movie on Amsterdam ever!
Wow. . . . Every shot, every angle, every transition... many years of work... this is the most amazing film I've ever seen about our home town. Super congrats on this epic work. 👏👏👏👏
Wow! As a born-and-raised Amsterdammer, this video makes me so proud of my wonderful city. And I'm in awe the photography, filming, and editing skills of Albert Dros. He's a true artist.
Absoluut een fantastische film. Compleet fascinerend en blijft de aandacht trekken. Geen saai moment. Veel typische Nederlandse aspecten in opgenomen zoals de fiets. Super.
This is so unbelievably gorgeous and captures such a perfect picture of Amsterdam in its entirety. It made me so homesick for the city. Just beautiful work. Bravo.
What a job dude , I don’t post comments that often , but now i agree that it’s one of the best footage I ever seen on YT , plus in my favourite capital , congrats
I'm going for a second time to Amsterdam in a few days. I think that it is one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world. It's vibrant, it's beautiful and it is a great monument to the people who build it. And this timelapse really capture all that. Amazing and inspiring job. Cheers.
Albert, loved this timelapse. Brought a number of memories back of my childhood. Especially the area around the Amstel Canal and Skinny Bridge. My family lived 3 doors down from the Royal Theatre Carré back in the early 60's. Thanks...
Incredibly beautiful! I recognize each and every place, so many stories and anecdotes. The shots of the moon were awesome, in the literal sense. This makes me very grateful for living in this beautiful city. Thank you!
This is utterly beautiful the most beautiful timelapse I've ever watched, it reminds me to those days when I went to Amsterdam all the way from Wageningen
This is fantastic! Amsterdam is perhaps the most beautiful city in the world, and you made it justice! This video should be in a museum so people 200 years from now can see what the city looked like and how we lived in the early 2000's
Insanely cool and creative! All that work gone into shooting through the seasons, into editing and even the sound effects. The best timelapse I’ve ever seen, and by accident it happens to be of my favourite European capital ;). Goed gedaan!
Amazing !!!!!. Such talent to capture the worlds most beautiful city like that. Amsterdam has so many fond memories for me it's like a second home. Brought tears to my eyes. Keep up the good work..
I'm from India and I'm speechless... damn the Netherlands is such a beautiful place, it brings tears to my eyes. Hits hard especially when you're from a third world polluted chaotic country
Unbelievably fantastic time lapse Albert. I thank you for your dedication to get this project presented to us. Cheers and thanks once more from Australia.
Superb! Somebody who never made a single timelapse lasting 10 sec. will never understand how much work you have putted in this masterpiece. Thank you for your fantastic job!!!
This is AWESOME!! Bravo @Albert ! I must say after watching the video I read your description and you did EXACTLY that; you made me feel PROUD of my city! And especially after COVID how much I missed it!
Beautiful piece of art. We spend so much time in Amsterdam. My Spanish wife is raised in Amsterdam when her parents came to Amsterdam as 'gastarbeiders'. My father is from Amsterdam, born and raised and my mother came to Amsterdam when she came from Indonesia after the war early '50s. I went to school from Almere to Amsterdam and I spend an important part of my youth in Amsterdam in iT, RoXY and Melkweg. Amsterdam is deeper inside of my then thought. Now we live already 7 years in Galicia - Spain so this video came in very deep. Our children love to visit Amsterdam from time to time (when Covid is over...) Thank you so much for your hard work. Best regards, Rogier Moes
That was absolutely amazing! Hopefully one day I will be able to see this beautiful city. I've seen several pictures and really have a eagerness to see the beauty in person Thank you for the video!
Sensational job. I can not even imagine the incredible amount of accumulated time the photography took. Outright spectacular in as well photographic quality as final edits.
😍 This is one of the best timelapses i have ever seen! Insane amount of work to make something like this! And i must say, having been to Amsterdam, this really conveys the spirit of the city in the most beautiful way! I hope many people get to watch and enjoy this!🙏
Amsterdam is one of favourite cities to visit. This amazing video just showed how great the city is. What a fantastic piece of work, I can’t imagine how long it took to put it together but I would like to say a big thank you for doing so and for sharing it for everyone to see. Truly amazing and very inspiring .
