Despite the fact that I've never been good at fighting games (hell I'm pretty trash at most of them) Terry will always be a good argument for me to buy one anyway, because hot damn is he one of the most fun and likable characters in all of gaming.
While I prefer Kim Kaphwhans gameplay, Terry will always have a place in my heart just for how down to earth he is, I can relate to Terry while I can’t relate to Kim
Fighting games can also be a great form of building self esteem or even therapeutic way in buidling character. Have anger problems that make you lose matches? Better try to fix that by learning to clear your mind. Want to be better at the game? Better learn about growth and discipline so you can build on your skills. Want to have a better mind set during matches? Actually learn about actual fighters and how they gain their ability to focus.
Air to airs are definitely way easier to use and pick up. Even after playing having 10 years+ of SF, when SF6 first came out, air to airs were a lot easier to use to get used to the game.
I love playing Fighting games because of the gameplay and music like Tekken ggst Street fighter BlazBlue and the combo especially combos hitting long combos or a advanced high damage combo that will delete half there healthy is a good feel that why I love fighting game also my favorite fighting games are mvci Tekken 7 injustice 2 bbtag
I love the music in most of the games. Been listening to some melty blood music and street fighter stuff recently for videos. Love all those games as well!
I was playing fighting games (DBFZ and SF6) and wasnt as prepared for work bc played too late into the night and missed social opportunities. Was very emotionally invested and stressful, Fun tho. My controller broke so not playing
Morrigan Aensland, I think that all those who only know her thanks to Marvel vs Capcom don't know the importance she had and that her original license had on fighting games.
@@DoofeFlussferd wait im going to be honest I havent heard of this character ever but I just watched a video of him and he literallt has a duck sitting on top of his head of hair. that is so freaking sick.
As a fairly new player myself, this was a lot of fun to watch, especially you figuring out how to best the demon Lily. Good luck on your journey to Gold and beyond!
Being forced to learn about frame data and combos feel like slavery that destroys the fun out of fighting games, that's why i dropped these types of games
thats valid. I think overtime you just learn those things but There has been a lot of ways to make that stuff easier in newer games. but I understand where you are coming from! Thank you for watching!!!
Congratz man, u did great❤ I hope u keep on playing and learning 😊 you should try learning the "dream combo" that Ed has with his lvl2 😮 maybe making it your next goal (landing the dream combo in match).
Yeah! I really want to try it out. Im going to practice it and make another 100 matches style of video probably later next week! thank you for the kinds words
Dont learn the dream combo you Will only be wasting your time. I only tried after getting ed to master. You’ll be much better of learning bread and butter combos.
thats always the trickey part. I honestly just chose ed because i played balrog in sfv and was like well he is a boxer so I might as well continue the trend. When i first started I really liked manon and akuma but it just didnt feel right. Hopefully you find your character soon!
Try out everyone's combo trials for a few minutes. See who clicks with you. If you want to play a shoto, and learn the basics, Ryu is a great starting point. Then you can fine tune it. Do you want Ryu but more offensive focused? Ken, etc. Starting out, just learn your buttons, learn your specials, and get used to the speed of playing against other people.
@@nextgencowboy thanks for the advice! I am in like gold 1-gold 2 with Ken, Chun, Aki, Cammy, and Juri. I have been struggling to find one that I can do the combos consistently with. Although Cammy does seem to be the easiest to use out of those, I like Chun Li’s style but I cannot do her stance combos to save my life lol.
@@CEIZOE Chun is a lot as a beginner in this game particularly, but you don't necessarily HAVE to start with Serenity cancels. Until you get closer to upper Plat you can ABSOLUTELY just play her like she's always been: Queen of Footsies.
Let me put it this way... a true Iron player is not going to block unsafe moves and punish with normals into special cancels, they are not gonna drive rush cancel their attacks, they are not going to bait whiffs only to hit an aerial... true Iron players blindly mash buttons, they spam the same moves, they spam drive impact and they JUMP. A *LOT.* With that being said though the Dhalsim was nothing special, maybe mid gold at best
Okay gotcha. That actually makes a lot more sense. I’m planning on doing another 100 games next week and I’m actually going to try and study’s what’s safe and what’s not to hopefully get up there to gold.
@@imhitchplays Oh I forgot he was anti-airing you as well, you won't find authentic Iron players doing anti-airs except by mistake, but that Dhalsim's anti-airs were very much intentional. Also good luck on your next 100 games
Me when I see friends that don’t play fighting games: “yeah you should play this genre, it’s great!” They respond by: “it says that the last time you played a fighting game was September 5 2021.”
She has some deeeep lore. Bridget was born soon after her twin brother, but raised as a girl because her parents were trying to hide her sex due to a social stigma that twin boys brought misfortune.
He should be in the thumbnail still unless RU-vid is experimenting with different thumbnails at the moment. If you meant in the video, there was a clip of him in it but I must’ve cut it out when doing the final edit. I’ll probably make a melee themed video in the coming weeks. Love me some falco.
About 2 1/2 years ago my fighting game journey started. I had a friend more or less say play tekken pussy. Now here we are not playing playing tekken but vitura fighter instead. 😅
think the fgs have 5 main problems that if fixed can make everyone happy: 1: Hiding important information This is a problem because fgs have way too much going offscreen. A basic fg will show you only the combo, counter, recovery and one or two system mechanics. (Sf only shows when the combo ends and Tekken doesnt even show counters) When important stuff like incorrect block, punish, chance to escape, plus or minus have 0 way to know if you dont read it somewhere (because even the own game wont tell you). How to fix: simply make like Dual Souls (goated game) and show it 2: Bad movement Walking is kinda sluggish, jump is unsetting and poor explored. Crouch doenst let evade any move. Also in some games you cant even air block! Is kinda hard to explain that for someone who doesnt play fgs. How to fix: Honestely i dont have many ideas, but making air block a standard, allow crouching low profile more standing moves, allow to change your jump direction more like a platformer would be a good start. 3: Confusing animations A lot of moves make no sense. Like a kick that hit your feet hits mid (looking at you Valentine) , and the most overheading thing hitting mid too (looking at you Chipp and Sol from ggac). Not only that, but a Anti Air uppercut, a crouching punch that would be reasonable hitting mid hits low for no reason (looking at every under Night character). Combined with the problems above and below kinda kills the quality. How to fix: Simply make them making sense. And if its too broken make it a littler weaker too. 4: Unbalance between high/low blocking Ok, having 2 types of blocking is kinda bad by itself, but the advantages of one ridiculously outweigh the other. If you stand block you can protect yourself of moves that hit your head a torso but leaves your legs unprotected, and if you crouch block you can protect your torso and legs at the cost of having your head exposed. This sounds balanced on paper, but there are much more low moves than high moves, and most of them dont hit crouching characters. Well, they cant block an air attack so just need to jump and hit them, right? No, because the moment you leave the floor you cant do nothing untill you reach a range that will make every move miss. On top of that lows can be 2 frames while the fastest overhead is 18 frames (makes a huge difference), meaning that you cant punish them safely even if youre plus. A the end this makes the genre very annoying and the pros will take a giant advantage of the begginers because most of them block high. How to fix: Might seem crazy, but i suggest 1 lows should be as fast as an overhead. 2 you should be able to do air attacks faster 5: Punishment for anything You die because you moved foward instead of blocking, then you die because you blocked but got punished. So you jump and die because of that, then attack with a very safe move but you die because of that too. How to fix: I have no idea, honestly 😔
nah your points and reasonings are valid! I think a lot of it just comes with time. I feel in the next 5 years there will be like a new golden standard with a lot of those issues fixed hopefully. street fighter 6 release was a big testament to that imo.
Man that never played the genre talks about how the genre should be “fixed” shit like this is the reason why execution, movement and anything remotely fun about the genre has been nuked
My main character has always been Blanka since the SF2 days, and I enjoy playing him so much. After reaching Master Rank in SF6, I'm still confused about which character I should go for next.
Dude blanka is cool. I wish I could understand that character. I feel that way too though. Been learning ed and any other character feels so foreign to me.
@imhitchplays I have the same problem as you; while trying to pick my next character, they feel weird to me. I may go for Aki since she has a unique style of her own; the same goes for Blanka, as both characters offer distinct and innovative fighting techniques that I really enjoy. By the way, I recommend trying Blanka; he is awesome, and it is very fun to play with him.
@@imhitchplays 🤣🤣 yeah they take over ya life. Especially when you get to a decent level, allways that strive to be a little better. I main Guile if you ever fancy a set add me up, Edd gives me nightmares sometimes🤣 boomboi CFN uk eu region
@@riansillett2771You don’t have to get good. Most people go to work without any desire to be CEO. SF 6 got me back into playing fighting games more seriously. I am naturally competitive person but I know when to chill out. I am not trying to be Punk or Mena. Working on being better and I try to appreciate the growth I made so far.
so that you can discover lovely top tiers to enjoy instead of playing as zato-1 and subjecting urself to the frustrating existence of being bottom 1or2 for 400days and counting
