In 2013, we realized that there was a huge gap in the Western hunting world: there was no convenient way for hunters to research and plan for hunts according to their own personal need. So we built exactly what was needed, and GOHUNT was born.
Along the way, we’ve built an incredibly strong community of like-minded individuals with a shared passion for hunting. Our vision continues to grow as we pursue our goal of empowering hunters to venture beyond the horizon, to hunt a new state or species, and to continue to grow past their potential.
If you believe in this mission-that technology exists to connect us with the primal world and not to separate us from it, that hunting creates a true connection with that world, and that self-reliance and true growth are only created through embracing struggle-we welcome you.

The Exo K4 pack is very solid and so is the new Kifaru w the Ark frame. I’ve run SG a ton also. I am really liking the carbon frame sheets (Kifaru/IA) vs vertical stays (Exo/SG). Trail eluded to this and I agree, that the carbon frame sheets carry and disperse heavy loads much better than vertical stay frames. The Kifaru hip belt is probably the best for keeping the pack on your hips and not sagging. The center stitch in the hip belt is something to pay attention to. Under load and over distance, you can feel it. Not enough to stop you, but enough to let you know it’s there. Plus side of that is, the belt does not sag. Every other option mentioned, minus the Initial Ascent, will sag a bit under load. I have an Initial Ascent on the way and am looking forward in comparing it to the Kifaru. IMO, Kifaru and the IA will out haul all the rest. The Kifaru will have a little more torsional movement vs the IA, but IA has made some changes to the frame to allow a bit more “flex” into the frame. Good pod gents and I am curious to see your follow up after you have hiked in the new packs w weight.
Great hunt and hat off to Brady for patience and determination to make his tag work. Question - I haven't been able to find out what muzzle loader he was using for the hunt? Looked amazing given the elevation adjustment peep sight in the back and quick reloading. Was there a reason why he didn't use a scope on the gun?
Awesome video!! Love the composure and ethics of Brady throughout the whole film. Well deserved class A bull. Don’t want to speak too soon, but were those GoHunt Game bags that have opening zippers on them at the end of the film?? Will those be coming soon??
Any chance you guys will carry Exo Mtn? If not, can you add them to these types of comparisons? from my experience they are the varsity version of the IA pack
Always love a technical breakdown podcast. Whether boots packs or any gear. I have a kuiu LT 7000 pack that I got on sale and I like it. I’m interested in the SG terminus 8700, do you think it’s too niche of a pack with others being better all arounders?
Probably the best video I've seen so far that describes how to activate a hinge release. This has changed how I think about the mechanics of the activation. Thank you so much for making this video!
Loved the LOTR references in the beginning even if it did go a little long. lol 😆 🧙♂️ I am glad that you all are starting to carry more options than just Stone Glacier and Mystery Ranch. Albeit those are great packs themselves. Since I found an Eberlestock F7 Kite 🪁 in their Outlet Store for $150 a couple years ago I went that route. It’s a 3000 cubic in day pack that has its own harness but there’s no load shelf. However it can be separated from the harness and attached to the F1 Mainframe. Sadly it’s by using those spring clips or gateway clips which would be difficult to use in the cold 🥶 but otherwise not bad. The Mainframe is an external frame that is very modular and Eberlestock has a ton of options to put on that frame. I know that it will haul weight even though I haven’t tested that out myself YET. Hopefully 🤞🏻 when I get to Utah on my muzzleloader general deer 🦌 hunt I will. 😊 I ended also getting their Vapor 7500 on the Outlet Store a year after I got the Kite 🪁 for $150 and it is HUGE and pretty minimalist.
The Elk (Cervus canadensis), also known as the wapiti is a large deer species native to North America and Eastern Asia, it is the largest of the six extant deer species constituting the genus Cervus and the second largest deer species alive today, with only the Moose (Alces alces) being larger, the closest living relative of the elk is the Hangul (Cervus hanglu) that resides in Central Asia, there are fifteen known subspecies of elk: the Tibetan Elk (Cervus canadensis wallichii), the Kansu Elk (Cervus canadensis kansuensis), the Sichuan Elk (Cervus canadensis macneilli), the Mongolian Elk (Cervus canadensis mongoliensis), the Alashan Elk (Cervus canadensis alashanicus), the Tian Shan Elk (Cervus canadensis songaricus), the Manchurian Elk (Cervus canadensis xanthopygus), the †Korean Elk (Cervus canadensis coreanus), the Siberian Elk (Cervus canadensis sibiricus), the Roosevelt Elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), the Rocky Mountain Elk (Cervus canadensis nelsoni), the Tule Elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes), the †Merriam's Elk (Cervus canadensis merriami), the Manitoba Elk (Cervus canadensis manitobensis), and the †Algonquin Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis).
Freaking epic! Very well put together film and great outcome for such a highly anticipated hunt. Almost makes me want to put down the bow and become a muzzy guy!! Do you mind sharing what setup you ran on this hunt?
Went to Vegas for a trip, detoured to GoHunt, can’t say enough good things about the process Paul uses to get someone fit for a pack! Ordered it immediately after and had it shipped home. Thanks guys.
So, what we learned in this episode is that Brady is a fake Tolkien fan because he doesn't know the lore behind why they couldn't use the eagles and he thinks Rings of Power is good.
I know, I know :( The eagle part always makes me laugh when people bring that up, and it does make me cringe when people talk about it too. Which is mainly why I brought it up. And I'm just a big LOTR fan... so I eat up anything, but I would definitely agree Rings of Power wasn't that great, but it was better than some other shows on the web and so I did like parts of it :)
I’m an Eberlestock fan myself. But they are way behind in the game. They are way to stuck on the fact that their F1 frame did not break until they loaded it with over 1000 pounds. It’s in you tube. But they could cut a shit ton of weight if they made a frame that was good to 300 pounds. I’m still hard to find a guy that is packing 300 pounds on their back. They are coming along but way behind. I think they need some help in their design department.they are very close on a few packs but still just missing the boat on the hunting packs.!
Definitely no bad blood at all. Brady used to use an Exo pack back in the day for several years and loved that backpack. We have tried to bring them into the Gear Shop for a long time and they have said they might be a little small to keep up with the demand. They make great packs and are great people.
@@jacobventura3468 Seems like Kuiu is the obvious choice with the weight of the packs being lighter than everyone else. Ill take the 2lb weight savings
I only stopped scrolling cause it was your Lorenzo.... Need you in Canada tho. I'm stuck with OnX until you figure out how to get at least British Columbia!
That's a true statement for Brady. If you saw him in the office or in his real life... you will quickly see he doesn't care about food taste only quality calories. He's a rare breed.
Awesome 👏 elk hunt Brady and Omar. I myself have been waiting for this one as well. These last couple years Brady has turned into a real BIG ELK guy. Pretty cool to do this hunt with an open sight muzzleloader. I actually drew an Utah general deer 🦌 muzzleloader hunt as my first ever western big game hunt. This is their first year in a while where you can’t use scopes there. Should be interesting 🧐 😃🦌🏜️⛺️
Great question. That is made by Ollin. It works off a phone case specific to your phone, and then a ring that is specific to your spotting scope or binoculars. It is all a magnetic system. You can check them out here: shop.gohunt.com/collections/ollin
