Awesome thanks. I’m going to turn my new channel into a talking head/interview channel once I get monetized. I know virtually nothing about videography or photography lol. Thansk for this! Very helpful.
the last point is what seperates the well paid pro which gets recommended from the 'good' videographer - in the end, everyone at an event is there to have fun and celebrate, directing someone for a quick shot gives them a sense of achieving a sidequest and you get an amazing shot in return. if you approach positively, most of the time you get a positive response.
Great video thanks for this! What about a video on how to light a talking head video? That would be really useful to accompany this video as well as where to place the light source.
Thanks dude . In the near future , probably you could add real footage from what you have taken based on what you are saying your viewers should be doing - Final footage of your shots would go a long way to help your viewers . Say and show practically would be more convincing . My two cents . Good luck .
My laptop takes 1,5 h to produce a video of 40 min. And also; that same video takes 72h to upload to RU-vid. I am an eager producer so I am in trouble now when everything move so slow. Please what can I do? Last year I purchased my laptop. New. I'm really so discouraged some days (most days!) because I have finally found a "job" I love. I don't find the link to the ssd thing. Did I miss it? Because that might work for me too right? Thanks ❤❤
I just found your channel. Im surprised you arent getting more views. Keep with it and eventually youll have a video blow up and the entire channel will go crazy overnight
Excellent video ! I think you can elaborate on the fps a bit differently. 24fps is the minimum required for our brains to perceive it as motion. I would really highlight "minimum" here, that's all it is. A 24fps movie is not more natural in any way. The only reason we prefer to watch movies in 24fps is that we are used to it. Watch a 48fps movie, the action and movement is so much more natural. The only reason why this format didn't take off, is we have been hammered with 24fps movies all the time. When seeing something in 48fps or higher, we will get the soap opera effect. In general, higher frame rates would give much better quality and smoothness. I say "quality", meaning that motion blur can be reduced with higher fps.
You create great content and these are great tips. In return I would like to pick out one thing that will improve you quality a lot and that is sound. Your videos has a constant deep humming noise that sound like a preamp turned up to high or something. Maybe you have you mic plugged directly into the bad preamp on you camera? Also, but less important, the mic is placed a bit too far from you which gives a lot of room sound. A nice and pretty cheap solution would be to buy a shotgun mic such as rode videomic ntg which can be plugged into the pc directly via USB and has great audio quality, then place that in an arm just above you head out of the frame. There is a mismatch between your visual quality and audio quality so I think it would be awesome if you just fixed that one thing. Thank you for sharing the video 😊
If you have an Osmo pocket 3 or can borrow one, I would love to see if there's a way to make a blurry background for talking heads. It's now my main camera and I want to achieve that look.
I’ll see what I can do. But I can tell you already, it has to be a software solution. The only way to get blurry background with such small sensors, is to get extremely close and have the background be far away.
@@talkingheadfilmschool worst case scenario, I forget about blurring the background. I can sacrifice it for the ease of setup and mobility. Thanks for replying.
Awesome stuff man, just finished watching all of it and hopefully you'll put out more stuff soon! Much more concise and well presented than other youtubers. Also, where can we find the davinci templates? Where can we find tjrb
Excellent points! Speed and stuttering are the biggest problems people have! Conversation is WAY faster than is comfortable for a video! Scripting and knowledge helps avoid the stuttering ("Uh", "um", "....well") and repetitions such as starting each sentence with "Well" or "So now", etc. Scripting is a huge boost for anyone trying to talk. I even took to writing out vmail greetings for the same reason. It was a quick hack to make it flow smoothly. Target 110-130wpm in your speaking, most likely. A documentary with a great deal of info should go somewhat slower than a current-events presentation or a news broadcast but even those are slower than casual conversation (150+ wpm).
@@talkingheadfilmschool Choosing cold or warmer colors depending on the subject of the video Or what would the feel for the video be if we put cold blacks and warm whites, and other techniques Let it be in DaVinci resolve
Okay, I will think about it. There is not much color grading I think people should focus on. Much more videos lack quality of the actual content, rather than color grading. But I will keep it on my list :) Thanks!
You really inspired me doin the event videography.......I was a bit low before the video.....and when you put the cam straight at the face I laughed 😂..... keep it up man
1:00 Dennis? reminds me of the guy at school who literally made me rethink video editing. Our teacher had us make video presentations on topics we were given about 1-2 times a month and this guy completely mad eme feel defeated. First time I ever seriously started to rethink editing style and my computer. I guess some editors need an awakening like that to really step up 🤷♂. Started experimenting with colour grading and dynamic shots but its quite a challenge to coordinate people who have lesser knowledge of videography
