@how to canvas can you replace the text pop-us with photos instead? I'm working on a site analysis, and would like to create an interactive map that when hotspots are clicked photos from my site walk pop up
I've uploaded 6 audio files (all m4a) and have used the html code to successfully embed 3 of them, but the last 3 aren't working. It shows the player, but nothing happens on click. I've tried uploading new files, starting a new page from scratch and adding it, and nothing is working. The files play just fine when I use the built-in 'add media' feature with the ugly player. Any ideas?
Would it not be better to upload into your Canvas files and link from there so that you do not have to worry about the link to your Google or OneDrive? Then if you copy the classroom the file is always part of the course.
I've rolled classes over from last semester into the new semester. I see that students are taking quizzes from previous semesters and the grade is appearing on my current Canvas. By chance do you have a suggestion for this issue? I've searched online for a solution. I've had no luck.
You show how to add explanations at 8:20. How do you add the explanations to the Excel table so that it gets into Canvas? Is there a separate column that needs to be added? Same goes for positive feedback at 8:40. How do you get the feedback from ChatGPT to Canvas? Thank you!
Is it possible to add a button to a tabbed Canvas page that will take students from the bottom of one page to the top of the next tab? I've been trying to figure out the code on my own, substituting "tab-2" for the href, but it doesn't seem to work. Thanks for your help! <a class="btn btn-large btn-danger" href="#tab-2">Click Here to Read Workplace Communication</a>
I just want to thank you so much for this. I just used the code to make a timeline and it looks AWESOME. Thank you. And, I like your hair, straightened or not. :)
Another great video, thank you! I have a query relating to the image you add to the text box in the first part. When I go to add an image to the text box, it only adds the very top part of the image and I can't figure out a way to reposition it so the image fits the wave like in your video. I've tried with several images too. Any ideas?
@@SeanNufer thanks for the prompt reply! I don't seem to have a crop option available. If I select the dashes in the text box, I get a 'Shape Format' ribbon that I can select, but there isn't a crop option to select like there is if you select an actual image and select the Picture Format ribbon. It's at point 3m 35s in this video where an image is added to dashes in the text box, if that helps?
@@SeanNuferjust to add to the above, occasionally a picture does drop in more centrally, but unsure how as I can't find that crop menu you mention. However, when it does drop in centrally it looks stretched. But in the video here, the image doesn't look stretched. Any idea how you stop the stretching, or limit it?
Thank you for all of your How to Canvas videos. They are amazing. I have a question for you. I would like to place two videos side by side. How can I accomplish this?
(It’s me) I wish I had a link for you, but check the channel for bootstrap. That will be what you will want. You can put two videos in slots of 6 at 100% width.
@@SeanNufer Thank you. You are so kind! I am a teacher and like to have nice Canvas courses. I have learned a lot from your videos. In this case, I want to create a "Video Library" page. The final goal is to have a page with 3 tabs and have about 4 videos per tab. I learned how to make tabs with you. Now I am just working on the Bootstrap grid. My problem is that I want to have the videos "centered" in each "column". I used "padding", but this is not exactly what I want. I am not a programmer and I can't do it. This is the code. Could you give me a hand? <div class="grid-row around-sm"> <div class="col-lg-6 col-md-6 col-sm-12 col-xs-12" style="background-color: #d8e2dc; text-align: center; padding: 20px 0; margin-bottom: 10px;"> <div style="padding-left: 25px; width: 90%; min-width: 60%;"> <div style="position: relative; width: 100%; overflow: hidden; padding-top: 56.25%;"> <p>< style="position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; right: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: none;" src="ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--gLpssvHVA4.html" width="560" height="315" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture"></></p> </div> <p>Video Title</p> </div> </div> <div class="col-lg-6 col-md-6 col-sm-12 col-xs-12" style="background-color: #ffe5d9; text-align: center; padding: 20px 0; margin-bottom: 10px;"> <div style="padding-left: 25px; width: 90%; min-width: 60%;"> <div style="position: relative; width: 100%; overflow: hidden; padding-top: 56.25%;"> <p>< style="position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0x; right: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: none;" src="ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--gLpssvHVA4.html" width="560" height="315" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture"></></p> </div> <p>Video Title</p> </div> </div>
Well. I have been trying this code. It works but... If I start watching a video on the page, then I select "full screen", and then I "exit fullscreen", the video on the page has the wrong formatting. I have to refresh the page to fix the ratios.
Thank you! It's funny because this is 3 years old and yet it is still the fastest and easiest way I have found to do this, and an extremely easy tutorial to follow!
OMG! I love this! And the banner video as well! I don't want to use a third-party solution that I have to pay for, and this is the perfect answer! Really want to experiment with all your great instructions! Can get really creative with my Canvas pages! Thanks for showing the HTML code also! Please continue to share your ideas!
Sean, it's been a long time since I've been able to catch your content! I hope all is well. I remember a video you made about color and contrast and readability. You also had some websites that helped determine what color contrast works. Can you direct me to that video and those websites?
Hey! Life has sort of caught up to me. I wish I was still creating regular content here and I really hope to again. I can’t look up what you want now (I’m camping with the kids for a few days), but look up the contrast checker on webaim. I think it’s a site from Utah State. Great contrast checker. I use a PC program I think called instant eyedropper to grab color hex.
Excellent input! Is it possible to add feedback for both correct and incorrect answers in the same CSV file that contains the questions? If so, what would the new structure of the CSV file be?
Fantastic, all went well in doing this. Sean, thank you for a really clear and concise way for teachers to save a lot of time and use a valuable tool for formative assessment. Low stakes quizzes will be part of the response to check student reading for understanding with ChatGPT starting to impact on student learning. The multiple response questions did not generate the comma required to incorporate multiple responses but otherwise all good with accuracy. That was easily changed in the csv file. Would love to know how to incorporate into the table the generated positive comments and explanations when students get the answers wrong.
Interesting, I've generated several quizzes for the same article and the correct response seem to change. While easily fixed, it's something to be wary of.
This video is underrated! Thank you for explaining it so visually AND including the code that goes right along with it. So easy to understand. Thank you so muchhhh
This is amazing!!!! Thank you SO much for explaining all the steps in such an easy to follow steps! I'll play around with PPT for my own banners and I'll be sure to share this video with other instructors.
Thanks for the video! Do you know if there is any way to include feedback by answer choice within the CSV to convert into the QTI? I know you can do it with the '@' after each option in Respondus 4.0, but I am a mac user at work. I am also not too comfortable with QTI to know the ins and outs of formatting possibilities!
Thank you this video helped me figure out how to recycle an already recorded presentation. I only wanted to add a slide to the beginning and by setting it automatically advance after a few seconds it works well.
