After the Second World War Ethiopia, in particular its ruler Emperor Haile Selassie I, became a big supporter of the United Nations and a legion of Ehtiopian troops, known as the Kagnew Battalion, served in the Korean War alongside the US 7th Infantry Division.

China really got the short end of the stick during and after WW2 with the civil war. Chang Kai-Shek may have been hardlined (I know that's proabably putting it lightly) but he really was the lesser of two evils compared to Mao. On a lighter note, perhaps as a follow-up video you could cover the Flying Tigers.

Lyrics: 1935, the drums of war resound, Across the deserts, across the fertile ground. Mussolini’s legions march with steel, A hunger for empire, a thirst they feel. The skies are dark with bombers’ wings, As poison gas rains down like deadly stings. But in the hills of Ethiopia, proud and free, The spirit of resistance rises with every plea. Scorched earth beneath our feet, But we’ll never see defeat. For every blow, for every scar, We’ll fight back no matter how far. In the land of ancient kings, Our courage spreads its wings. We stand against the storm, Our hearts forever warm. Haile Selassie, the Lion stands tall, A voice in Geneva, a desperate call. Before the League of Nations, he pleads his case, But the world turns blind to Ethiopia’s face. With bayonets and swords, they fought in vain, While the skies rained death, the earth felt pain. Yet from the highlands to the broken plains, Their will unbroken, their fight remains. Scorched earth beneath our feet, But we’ll never see defeat. For every blow, for every scar, We’ll fight back no matter how far. In the land of ancient kings, Our courage spreads its wings. We stand against the storm, Our hearts forever warm. The world watched but did not move, Injustice paved with silence’s groove. But for Ethiopia’s sons and daughters brave, Their land, their soul, they fought to save. Scorched earth beneath our feet, But we’ll never see defeat. For every blow, for every scar, We’ll fight back no matter how far. In the land of ancient kings, Our courage spreads its wings. We stand against the storm, Our hearts forever warm. Though the war would claim the land, Ethiopia’s spirit would forever stand. Through every tear, through every cry, Their fight would live, and never die.

Lyrics: In the heart of our homeland, the storm begins to rise, From the cities to the mountains, smoke fills the skies. 1937, the silence breaks in pain, As invaders come to claim, what we can’t let them gain. From Shanghai’s streets to Nanking’s walls, We face the darkest days of all, But the spirit of China, strong and bright, Will never fall, will never lose sight. Rise up, the sons of China, Through the fire and through the rain. For every tear, for every loss, We will fight through every pain. The shadows may surround us, But the light within will burn, For our land, for our people, We stand, and we return. The Yangtze ran still, a grave for our own, As the massacre tore through all we had known. In Nanking, horror came with the dawn, But our resolve, it carried on. From the hills of Hunan, to the plains of Shanxi, We rallied together, we wouldn’t flee. Guerrilla fighters, soldiers brave, Every inch of our land, we vowed to save. Rise up, the sons of China, Through the fire and through the rain. For every tear, for every loss, We will fight through every pain. The shadows may surround us, But the light within will burn, For our land, for our people, We stand, and we return. Years of blood, and years of sorrow, Fighting for the hope of tomorrow. We held the line, through toil and strife, A bitter struggle for our very life. Rise up, the sons of China, Through the fire and through the rain. For every tear, for every loss, We will fight through every pain. The shadows may surround us, But the light within will burn, For our land, for our people, We stand, and we return. And though the war would tear apart, The spirit of China beat in every heart. Through every trial, through every test, We rise, and fight for nothing less.

Lyrics: In 1914, she set sail on the sea, The Empress of Ireland, proud and free. A voyage to carry hopes and dreams, But fate had darker, tragic schemes. Through the fog, the waters turned cold, The night was silent, the story untold. Two ships crossed paths in the river's embrace, Disaster struck with no time to brace. Ghosts of the Empress, lost to the deep, A thousand souls, forever asleep. The sea claimed their names in a single breath, A ship of dreams, now a tale of death. The Storstad loomed through the heavy haze, Too late to turn, too late to save. A crash in the night, steel against steel, The icy water rose, nothing seemed real. In just fourteen minutes, she was gone, Families broken, dawn never shone. Her lights faded, the lifeboats few, As the river swallowed the ill-fated crew. Ghosts of the Empress, lost to the deep, A thousand souls, forever asleep. The sea claimed their names in a single breath, A ship of dreams, now a tale of death. No flares to light, no calls for aid, In the cold, dark water, their fate was laid. The river was cruel, swift and wide, And hope disappeared with the rising tide. Ghosts of the Empress, lost to the deep, A thousand souls, forever asleep. The sea claimed their names in a single breath, A ship of dreams, now a tale of death. Now she rests beneath the waves, A monument to those who sleep in graves. The Empress of Ireland, lost to time, Her story lingers, in sorrow’s rhyme.

Lyrics: In 1939, the world ignites, A new darkness falls, no end in sight. Blitzkrieg storms through the skies and land, Nations fall as dictators make their stand. Cities crumble under bombs from the air, Families torn, fleeing in despair. From Poland to France, the Axis rolls, Lives are shattered as tyranny takes hold. Fifty million souls lost in the fight, Under the clouds of war, day turns to night. A world in flames, hearts full of fear, The cost of freedom paid in blood and tears. Pearl Harbor struck, the sleeping giant wakes, Across the seas, new battles it makes. From the deserts of Africa to Stalingrad’s snow, The fires of conflict continue to grow. The Rising Sun sweeps across the East, Nanjing burns, Japan’s power unleashed. Singapore falls, the Philippines cry, Under the empire's wrath, too many die. Fifty million souls lost in the fight, Under the clouds of war, day turns to night. A world in flames, hearts full of fear, The cost of freedom paid in blood and tears. The bombs fall on Dresden, and Tokyo burns, Hiroshima and Nagasaki’s lesson learned. The war is over, but the scars remain, The world forever changed by endless pain. Fifty million souls lost in the fight, Under the clouds of war, day turns to night. A world in flames, hearts full of fear, The cost of freedom paid in blood and tears. The echoes of war still fill the air, A reminder of loss, a world laid bare. The war that changed the world, it’s clear, A generation lost, we hold them dear.

Lyrics: In the summer of 1914, the world caught fire, Nations marched to war, driven by desire. A spark in Sarajevo lit the flame, And soon all of Europe was engulfed in pain. Men stood in trenches, waiting to fall, Barbed wire stretched, a death trap for all. Artillery thundered, skies black with smoke, Lives were shattered as the guns spoke. Ten million souls, lost in the fight, Under a darkened sky, no end in sight. The war to end all wars, they said with pride, But in the mud and blood, so many died. Verdun and the Somme, names carved in stone, Where countless soldiers died, cold and alone. The poppies bloomed where the bodies fell, Each petal a story of war’s cruel hell. Tanks rolled forward, planes took flight, But the death toll climbed higher, day and night. Soldiers in lines, facing no-man's land, Cut down by machine guns, never to stand. Ten million souls, lost in the fight, Under a darkened sky, no end in sight. The war to end all wars, they said with pride, But in the mud and blood, so many died. The armistice came, but the scars remained, Cities in ruins, and hope drained. From Russia to France, the world was torn, Millions lost, and nations worn. Ten million souls, lost in the fight, Under a darkened sky, no end in sight. The war to end all wars, they said with pride, But in the mud and blood, so many died. A century passed, but the sorrow stays, The lost generation haunts the days. The Great War’s toll, forever etched, In the pages of history, we can't forget.

Lyrics: In the jungles of Vietnam, he walked alone, A shadow in the trees, no name, no home. With his rifle in hand, he'd wait and stay, Carlos Hathcock, the hunter, stalking prey. With a single shot, he'd never miss, The enemy feared the deadly kiss. They called him "White Feather," a ghost in the mist, A sniper's legend, a mark never missed. White Feather in the breeze, moving through the trees, A silent ghost, bringing enemies to their knees. One shot, one kill, he'd never fall behind, The legend of the sniper with a deadly mind. From miles away, he'd make the call, Through scope and breath, he'd see them fall. A bounty on his head, they tried to take him down, But White Feather always wore the crown. The "Cobra" sniper came to claim his life, But Carlos fired first, ending the strife. Through pain and fear, he held his ground, The greatest sniper the world had found. White Feather in the breeze, moving through the trees, A silent ghost, bringing enemies to their knees. One shot, one kill, he'd never fall behind, The legend of the sniper with a deadly mind. Through heat and rain, through day and night, He fought his war without the light. In the shadows, he’d lay his claim, Carlos Hathcock, a sniper's name. A hero born from steel and lead, White Feather's name forever spread. Through Vietnam’s fields, his ghost remains, A sniper, A silent ghost, bringing enemies to their knees. One shot, one kill, he'd never fall behind, The legend of the sniper with a deadly mind. A hero born from steel and lead, White Feather's name forever spread. Through Vietnam’s fields, his ghost remains, A sniper’s legacy in history's chains.

Lyrics: In the hills of Kohima, they stood their ground, Outnumbered and weary, no help to be found. The enemy came with fury and might, But the brave held on through the endless night. On the tennis court, so close they could see, Faces of foes, just a breath away. With every shot, with every cry, They fought for freedom, refusing to die. Hold the line, through fire and flame, Against the odds, they played the game. In the shadow of death, they held their fate, The defenders of Kohima stood strong at the gate. Through hunger and pain, the days wore on, The soldiers of Britain and India, headlong. The rain poured down, but so did the fight, In the jungles of Burma, they'd see the light. With grit and steel, they turned the tide, The Japanese faltered, their strength denied. Imphal joined in, the twin battles won, And the march of the Rising Sun was undone. Hold the line, through fire and flame, Against the odds, they played the game. In the shadow of death, they held their fate, The defenders of Kohima stood strong at the gate In the hills, their bond was strong, Through every battle, they carried on. The road to Imphal was paved with pain, But from Kohima, hope would reign. Hold the line, through fire and flame, Against the odds, they played the game. In the shadow of death, they held their fate, The defenders of Kohima stood strong at the gate. In the hills of Kohima, their story is told, Of courage and valor, of hearts made bold. Against all odds, they stood and fought, And with their stand, freedom was bought.

Lyrics: From the skies of Wisconsin to the Pacific blue, Richard Bong soared where the eagles flew. With his P-38, a twin-engine might, He danced with the wind in the dead of night. With nerves of steel and a pilot’s grace, He took to the skies, no time to waste. For every mission, every flight, He fought for freedom, fought for the right. Ace of Aces, flying high, In the Pacific, he touched the sky. With forty kills, his legend was made, Richard Bong, in history’s parade. From Guadalcanal to the Bismarck Sea, Bong took on the enemy, fierce and free. No foe too strong, no sky too wide, With each victory, he turned the tide. He flew with courage, never in vain, Through fire and storm, through wind and rain. A hero born in the heat of war, Richard Bong, forevermore. Ace of Aces, flying high, In the Pacific, he touched the sky. With forty kills, his name was known, Richard Bong, his legacy grown. But even the bravest must face the end, Testing the new age of flight, where the skies don’t end. He gave his life for the dream he sought, A final sacrifice, dearly bought. Ace of Aces, flying high, In the hearts of many, you’ll never die. With forty kills, your story's told, Richard Bong, brave and bold. So here’s to the man who conquered the sky, With wings of courage, he soared so high. In every flight, in every dawn, The spirit of Richard Bong will live on.

Lyrics: In the depths of the Pacific, where shadows play, The crew of R-14 faced a fateful day. A mission turned dire, as fuel ran dry, But their resolve was strong, they wouldn’t say die. With the ocean before them, and no way to steer, They turned to their wits, to conquer their fear. Sailors of steel, with a bond so tight, They crafted a plan in the dimming light. Crew of courage, in the face of despair, When the seas were silent, you still dared. With sails of cloth and hands so true, You turned the tide, and saw it through. No ship’s manual, no guide for the task, But the men of R-14 didn’t need to ask. They rigged up a sail on that iron beast, And caught the wind from the west to the east. Five days adrift, with no engines to hum, But their spirits were high, they’d overcome. Each man played his part, in the crew's grand design, Together they sailed, with a force so fine. Crew of courage, in the face of despair, When the seas were silent, you still dared. With sails of cloth and hands so true, You turned the tide, and saw it through. With every gust, their hopes would rise, As they steered their course beneath the skies. A brotherhood forged in the hardest test, They brought R-14 back to the West. Into the harbor, with pride they sailed, A crew who refused to let their mission fail. Their story lives on, of courage and skill, Of sailors who bent the ocean to their will. Crew of courage, in the face of despair, When the seas were silent, you still dared. With sails of cloth and hands so true, You turned the tide, and saw it through. In the annals of time, where heroes stand tall, The crew of R-14 answered the call. With minds sharp and hearts so brave, They sailed the seas, and the ship they saved.

Lyrics: From Altoona’s forge, where the hammers rang, The T1 emerged with a mighty clang. Eight drivers strong, sleek as a dream, Built for speed, she reigned supreme. With 140 on the clock, she tore through the night, A blur on the rails, a powerful sight. A marvel of steel, with a heart of fire, Chasing the wind, she climbed ever higher. T1, lightning on the rails so fast, Breaking records, never meant to last. A symbol of speed, of power untamed, A legend in motion, forever named. With streamlined grace, she owned the line, A machine of power, ahead of her time. Her pistons roared, her whistle cried, As she charged down the track, nothing denied. From the mountains to the plains, she led the way, Pulling passengers by night and day. A marvel of steel, a shining feat, The T1 was built for speed, outrunning defeat. T1, lightning on the rails so fast, Breaking records, never meant to last. A symbol of speed, of power untamed, A legend in motion, forever named. Yet time marched on, and the diesel age came, Leaving the T1 to whisper her name. But her story lives on, in the echoes of steel, A testament to the power, the speed, the zeal. So here's to the T1, the pride of the line, A masterpiece that couldn’t outrun time. In every rail, in every breeze, The soul of the T1 will never cease.
