@@iConnectivitySupport But you see no "destination" or anything on new version. All you can do is rename input. And no way to make 12 outputs + 8 inputs right? Max is 16 with USB Connection to Mac as far as I understand. I can not use Network as its used for audiocard.
I'm not 100% certain what you are asking but you'll need a way to go from the RJ45 connection to the lightning or USB-C connection on your iOS device. You can go directly from the interface to this adaptor that will connect to the iOS device.
Is it possible to connect 2 devices to iconnectivity audio4c like windows or mac computer with ableton and second device: Ipad pro with loopy pro and use same microphone at the same time and record some stuff in ableton and some stuff on loopy pro and sync everything? it would be dream for me :D
Great tutorial! I have a similar question as @Cers10 a year ago: I want to control 2 Mainstage rigs from 2 hardware synths and shoot back from both Mainstages to these 2 and maybe to more hardware synths for layering, zones etc. How do I prevent the hardware synths from getting double triggers and double program changes? Creating two different presets on the XM and then switch to the 2nd preset manually in case of failover?
I am surprised that renaming the DIN source also apply the changes to the related DIN destination. Nothing prevents from connecting distinct devices on a pair of DIN outlets right (say a synth on DIN 1 OUT & a controller on DIN 1 IN)? Is there a way to name them both differently?
Currently there is not. We have explroed options to have a computer be able to see the in and out as a different name but we don't have that option so we didn't add a separate in /out name to the other ports either for this reason.
This worked great for macOS! My problem is when I disconnect from my Mac to an iPad Pro. The renamed ports don't show up Logic Pro unfortunately, I'd appreciate any tips! Thank you kindly! 🙃
On Mac OS you basically force the computer to forget the device so when you connect it, it scans the interface like a new unit and you get the correct names. On iOS the only way to do this is by wiping your iOS device, unfortunately. They have no MIDI studio like Mac OS, so you have to wipe the iOs device and then everything is a "new" device for it and it'll scan the correct names. Maybe iOs will have a better solution in the future.
Great tutorial. I would add: In the event of needing to swap a computer. Save your AMS setup with an appropriate name. Then locate it in the audio preferences in the the system library and make a back up to your external backup drive.
@@adamtemple9417 @adamtemple9417 It definitely isn't as good though (depending on what you need it for). I started with pocketMidi, until I needed more precise timestamps and info, then I switched to MIDI OX. Kind of ironic that you'll be forced to use a worse program
I have an Audio4c and want to control it with my iPad. But what mixer do I use instead of Auracle X? I have to control the outputs of my Multitracker app. Because on Mac it's fine with Auracle but it does not seem to exist for iOS ...?
We do not have Auracle X available on iOS. A user took our old iConfig code and created an app called reconfig and reconfig4audio which is able to work on iOS.
The lastest update of Auracle x should be able to allow you to try multiple times, if needed to load firmware, where previous versions didn't. This option still works as well.
Thanks but... why isn't it inside Auracle ??? Why do we need an external app ??? Why can't we route to Preset Selector using our MIOXL/XM ??? I do this from years using Bome Midi Translator, is it now included directly in MIOXM/XL firmware ? I see no mention of this in last firmware update notes ?
We currently have other priorities to build and fix in Auracle X but this is one of the option that is in a list of adds for Auracle X. This feature has been in the firmware since it's beginning. We didn't always have the app.
@@iConnectivitySupport Hi, any news on including this in AuracleX and normalizing management of presets ? I still don't understand why we can't route midi to the preset selector port, sending directly to it our PC to load presets from various midi sources, and why we need to use what appears as a trick, kind of dark hack, out of any usual protocol used by MIOX series ???? Poor.
@@ChristianSurieux It's because there is a hardware port to get the presets to change and the only "virtual" port that is hard routed to it it the Preset Selector/control/automation port from the USB DAW, by default. Using the app allows you to send any port to it. We do agree we should be able to make this accessible to our users in AX as opposed to using an app like this. It's in our list of feature requests as well as many of our other BETA app features.
They are not for everyone especially in this case. They are often made after seeing multiple requests for something in the same week through our support and facebook group. Hopefully the next one will appeal to you. IF you have a question or something you'd like to see let us know.
It would be stellar if I could view the routing screen for both my XL's at the same time in Auracle. Switching the screens is really putting a dent in my work flow. Can I run two versions of Auracle at the same time and not confuse the whole operation?
Best practice to to switch back and forth inside Auracle X. I understand the want for switching between interfaces quicker. You can see in this video there are 6 units connected to this one computer.
We have not tested this so I cannot give a definitive answer. I've seen programs similar like SysEx Librarian on Max to be able to record MIDI/SysEx data in to have files to play back.
This was the setup video I've been looking for. Finally I was able to setup my mioXL and configuration was a breeze. Also, the relationshop between HW-ports and RTP-ports (same order, numbered) got clear...puh.
Glad this was helpful. Our gear can cover a wild amount of different setups so it's hard to create content for each one BUT some setups, like this ,show up often.
Yes and no. It depends on how you want things to work. If you want to play one main keyboard and make everything play at once, you can keep the same channel. If you want to switch between devices you could set them to receive on different channels and then change the master controller's output channel to match the device you want to send to.
That's when we check our setup. - How are the settings on my hardware synth/controller? - Am I connecting the IN DIN MIDI port to the Out DIN MIDI port on the interface? - If your interface has multiple possible routes, are you routing things correctly.? - Have you tried new cables? - Have you tried a different port connected to your computer? - Is my network connection setup right, if you are running network MIDI? In the end it's always possible there is a bad connection port or cable somewhere that may need repair. For our case, you contact our support to run through your setup in more detail to find out what is needed.
Thank you very much for the video. I have just recently purchased a mioXm. The plan is connect it to my MPC one + to a laptop + to a bunch of Hardware synths. From your video I see that I should connect the USB A to the MPC, since it is the center of the studio, and my computer to a one of the 4 USB_MIDIhost ports. I have two questions: 1-Can I still configure the Unit (with auracle software) with the above connections? 2-Probably, I'd like to have a second configuration where the computer is the center of the studio. Would that involved changing the hardware connections somehow(plugging the mioXM USB-A to the computer , instead to the MPC) Thanks in advance
If you use the USB-B DAW port on mioXM for the MPC ONE you will need to connect to the computer via ethernet. The USB-A host ports on the mioXM cannot connect to a computer. If you connect with a network connection to the computer the mioXM should be available. in Auracle X. I would recommend connecting via USB the first time so that you can make any updates to the firmware, if that's needed. I would connect as I mentioned above and you can make either device (computer or MPC) the main control area.
@iConnectivitySupport Finally, my mioXm arrived, and the only I can say is that I'm really happy with it. My studio set up has been improved dramatically. I have connected with USB-B to my mpc One and with Ethernet to my computer (WIn10 with rptmidi installed). A bunch of hardware synths on DIN ports, A couple of them also in USB hosts + an Ipad. A m a z i n g, Still investigating, though. I need to set the presets up according my different needs.
Thanks so so much…. Today will be my first time using it in church it’s an hour before setup and I was literally about to panic! You’ve helped a whole lot!
Hello, I have a MIO XL k how to rename MID ports unerd MS windows 11 instead of having generic MINIIN2 (MIOXL) names I want to use my plugged device name (e.g JUNO 106 or System 8, etc) I can rename port in the AUracle software but the names are not reflected under MS windows. any suggestion greatly appreciated. thanks
Bascially any 2 iConnectivity interfaces could do this. As long as you have USB DAW/Device port connecting to a USB-A host port. AUDIO4c and mioXM could do this. It only move MIDI data.
This is mostly for Mac users but would also make since for Windows users too. There are some plugins that struggle using the IAC driver on Mac. We've seen it enough time to actually have cause to make this video.
I tried to download the lemur app but I think that is not avaliable any more (seem). Could you post a link to the app to proceed with the download please? Thanks in advance
Sadly, Liine/Lemur has stopped access to the app. Depending on your use case there are other apps. If you are using it for setlist control you could use Setlist from Strange Electronic or AbleSet.
Hello. I want to use my Audio4c for live playing. Channel 1 & 2 should be configured for Backing Tracks played from Ipad on USB Port 2. Software Instruments are played also from my Ipad . They should be routed to Output 3&4. My Üpayback Software should use Output 5&6 for cue and Klick. I tried to connect the headphone output with a stereo to momo splitter cable, connecting it to our Mixer. Problem was that there was no Input Signal. Auracle is showimg a Signal on Headphone channel. Could this be because i haven't split the channels to Mono. How must i configure this scenario in Auracle. Thanks Mike
Have you tried connecting a set of stero headphones you know works to the headphone jack? This will help you know if it's the cable or if the issue is happening before the output on the AUDIO4+ The setup should be as in the video.
Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but I've been looking to setup a redundant keyboard rig with 2 mainstage computers. The playaudio1u seems perfect for this, however: I also want to use some hardware synths that outputs into mainstage aswell (I need inputs in the audio interface, that goes to both mainstage computers, and then I can mix software synths with hardware). Since the playaudio1u doesn't have any audio-inputs, how would I achieve this? I hope you'll understand what I'm trying to convey here lol.
I get your problem but I don't understand why you want to send your hardware synths analog audio into mainstage? For processing or for In Ear Monitoring or for recording? If so ... why? IEM shouldn't be running from your MainStage in the best case and digital processing kind of misses the point of analog. The most easy solution would be to have an analog input splitter and route the same signal to two additional usb interfaces that feed your software input-wise. Most softwares let you pick different interfaces for inputs and outputs. I dont think its the solution you expected but I'm actually still trying to understand your issue. Hope this helps.
@@leonscholz97 maybe I explained it wrong, but I have a nord stage 3 along with other Yamaha synths that I would like to route through mainstage. For processing, and also to combine software synths with the nord. I hope this explains it a bit!
Ok. In that case get a iConnectivity AUDIO4c. Its basically the same logic as the PA1U but you get 4 Input and 4 Outputs and two Usb Ports for pcs running mainstage or ableton or qlab or whatever.
@@leonscholz97 that one sounds great! Do you know of anything that has more outputs though? Often I need atleast 5, since I use stereo keys, sometimes stereo tracks and mono click.
@@12349370 Just get to AUDIO4c and you have 8 channels. :) But you would have to create an "Aggregate Device" on your Mac in order to let both interfaces be recognized as one device. That's necessary because your DAW only lets you select one Inputdevice. Idk a solution for windows unfortunately. Maybe someone can help.
my mioXL is opening multiple instances and after several seconds and 3 open instances the mioXL connects with my Mac. With my PC it works perfectly and fast, but with the Mac it is extremely slow. What could be the problem?
You do not need the mioXM to make these connections you can do it directly to the computer or to any iConnectivity interface. TouchOSC should work for this same scenario.
No. Output ch. 13 is the test tone for comp A and comp B. The PA12 only sees the audio from one computer at a time. Ch. 14 is honestly just because we didn't want an odd channel count, especially one ending with 13.
You could, but wirless connection is prone to more network issues like disconnects and interference. Also latency is a big issue for many. Just depends on the person really.
@@MrCshmn I wouldn't say free but much less. Wired is more consistent. On a latency scale of 1-10 a wired connection would be 1 and it will be 1 almost always. A wireless connection will be 3-8 depending on the setup and even the physical location and many other factors.
@@iConnectivitySupporti'm considering buying a MioXL, used over RTP with my DAW and connected to several hardware synths. Can you confirm I'll be able to connect to it over wifi from my old iPad Air 2? I don't want to invest in a wired Network adapter for it anymore since it's getting pretty old and I'll probably buy a newer ipad with usb c later. I'd use the iPad to run midi editors for various synths and modules so a bit of latency wouldn't be that much of an issue
@@juicythedj750 This is a hard question because I can't test this with and iPad 2. I can't see why it shouldn't be able to connect still. It'll likely be more about the iOS version. You can connect over wifi but it's not recommended as wireless is not always the most secure connection. It is still possible though.
Would this work also without the USB direct connection? In my case, I have an APC40 MkII connected via usb to a host port on my MioXM (which is not connected to the computer directly), but instead the MioXM connected via ethernet to my Play Audio 12 that's connected via USB to the computer? It's working fine when sending Midi but the control surface part is not working unfortunately.
This should work. You just need to verify you have the in and out paths both set up routing wise and then make sure the settings are like in this video, where you can get the remote, track, etc.. out to the APC.
Hey, awesome video. I love how you pretty much simplified stuff. I’ve got a MioXL and I’ve been having trouble wrapping my head around it. One question I did have is, do I need to even mess with Mac’s MIDI setup in their Audio/MIDI Setup window? Thanks for your time!
No. MIDI Studio only shows devices connect via USB directly to the computer. If everything is connected to the mioXL/XM then it'll only show the our interface. You will want to edit the interface settings to reflect what you want. If you are connecting to the computer with ethernet you will want to use the network configuration window, which is accessed from MIDI Studio. You will technically only need to do that once, if setup correctly.
