Just a minimalist single-hander slowly cruising the world on my Grinde 27' I'm currently in French Polynesia with plans to head to the Cook Islands, Fiji, and beyond this season. . Some background: I grew up on my parent's Cal25 while they were completing their own circumnavigation. Sailing is in my blood, and I've spent more than half my life living on a boat. If you want to learn more about my upbringing, check out episode 3!
If it so pleases you, you can follow my channel for original videos about my boat overhaul and day-to-day life aboard

Anchor-to-anchor-to-anchor with 2 passages and no engine. Yay for Holly! When you go back, see how many passages you can make in a row with no motor. It seems like a good place to go for a string of them.
When you’re up on deck adjusting your sails and the boat is bouncing around. Are you ever concerned about a sudden wave possibly tossing you over? I hope you’re tethered to the boat to prevent that.
12:08 - 12:45 it sounds like you may have engine knock. It happens when the air-fuel mixture in the engine’s cylinder ignites prematurely or unevenly, causing a sharp knocking or pinging sound.
I have noticed on an another sailing channel that yall used phones for navigation. Why not use a tablet so you have a a larger viewing area with a larger screen? It doesn’t make sense to use a phone with a small screen.
Big congrats on 100k. Thumbs up Rolly Tasker. I cant believe you sailed the caribbean and entire pacific with a hank on headsail. The next 180° around the globe will feel like a holiday, I'm sure. Thanks
I’m grateful Holly has capable, good, fun, kind Dan. I’m sure Holly could somehow figure out how to climb a mast while simultaneously pining things on the deck…. But she deserves and has more than earned a good and appropriate partnership!
Hey girl! Great job! But get rid of those bananas!!! Please lol! They really are bad luck to have on board (weather wise) fair winds and fins up to you both!
Fun to see one of your earlier videos. Remember watching the videos of your restoration before you got going. You have done well. Best regards from Jarle
You gonna be soooo happy with the rolling system. I bet you have been out testing it already and you are wondering why you didn't do that years ago. Congrats and cheers to Rolly Tasker for donating.
The more of your videos I watch the more you continue to impress. Your minimalistic approach to sail around the world is so inspiring. Spending last season in the Caribbean, now on the west coast hanging out until spring to do my crossing the Polynesia, you continue to build confidence in my own solo journey. Thank you for sharing the ups and downs and for just being real, you’re an incredible woman and I truly hope to cross paths one day on the water. 🤘🏼😎⛵️
Welcome to "Dealing With The Australian Gumbyment". Lesson one: they have no idea what they're doing and couldn't find their butt-hole with both hands. If there's a fee, they will apply it, no matter what your excuse or exemption is.
Awesome! One question I might ask, and I hope I don't appear to be a Jonah here, is whether the greater tension on the forestay might raise a concern about the forestay stem fitting. I was surprised to see that is a pad eye, and not a chainplate. In our family we had an old Paceship boat built in Nova Scotia that had such a fitting, and it ripped out through the deck and we lost the mast. If that area of the deck was engineered with a certain amount of forestay tension in mind, does putting on significantly more tension lessen that margin of safety?
I travelled on an old Penisi boat through outer Indonesian islands i had some nice things on board but i enjoyed sleeping on the deck & chilling with the stars .
Hey Holly, welcome to mediaeval sailing technology, Seriously I have always worried, about you and your sail-plan, so now, I at least, can get two hours straight sleep on a still night, worry free🤔🤔🤔 or did I just,
Love the wire cutter hack on the cotter pin! I always try to use needle nose pliers, but like you say, not enough grippage. But please put a proper cotter pin at the very top, and not a ring ding!
Charlie just here near Bangor. I don't understand why the friction point on the top of your new roller furling is it supposed to be on the cable rather than on the steel fitting clamping the cable. Just seems to me like you've put the friction on the weaker link . . . ?
