Really informative video. I know nothing about horses but as a modeler Milliput is a vital part of my toolset. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I did have some trouble hearing your voice over the background music during some parts. It may just be my headphones though. The work you've shared in the video is really awesome. Definitely earned yourself a new subscriber.
It’s a nice sculpting putty for sure! And thanks! Yeah, finding the right audio setup+settings for my soft spoken voice has been a learning curve, though each video has gotten better so I think I’ll crack it soon!
Awww, thanks!!! While I’m hardly an expert at it 😅, I’ll have a process video for this specific project later this month. Maybe seeing a little more of what I tried will help give you some starting ideas!
great video! plastalina was one of the first sculpting materials i started working with when i was sculpting for silicone molding. i destroyed my first sculpture before figuring out best processes. love seeing people using it!
Thank you so much! And yeah, it’s a little tricky when molding, though I love how beautifully it sculpts so I think it’s well worth it. And happy to see another plastilina user!!
How meny things can you sculpt from one box of this, it looks like there isn't much of the product and i'm curious is one enough for one horse sculpture
Depends on what size, and if you are bulking up your armatures with a filler material like foil sheets. I work small and get a few sculptures per box. All of the boxes shown here have been used for about two years of creations
I research the common height of the animal from the ground to the highest point of its shoulder or hip (depending on how they’re commonly measured), then math out how many inches that is for the scale I want. Once I have that measurement, I use a basic photo editing software to make a box at that size, then scale the diagram to fit the height of that box and print at 100% scale
Je vais me lancer dans la custom de breyer, mais je n'ai pas beaucoup d'argent, est-ce que la pâte à modeler durcissante est aussi maniable ? Pour faire la même chose que vous, j'ai peur que la pâte se déchire
Happy to hear you want to give sculpting a try! I use Milliput to customize Breyers. It’s a sturdy epoxy putty clay (it comes in smaller boxes than other brands, so more affordable) and I have a video about it on my channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3yIeCkQEEZg.html
Good question! I love to use a variety of anatomical references from books to online resources, usually skeletal and muscle diagrams. I share some of my favorites here ru-vid.comnc5lnbbFFj8?feature=share & ru-vid.comIqTfrtuAvoI?feature=share And while I focused on horses, the sources I share in this video also have other animal charts too ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k4g9gdGV2q4.html
Thanks you did a very nice job of explaining about this product. I have watch others use Milliput for mostly repairs. So this gave me so much more knowledge. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌺
Was looking for a video comparing the properties of the different Milliput types and this was exactly what I needed. Thanks for this, appreciate you sharing your experience
Hi fellow art lovers & makers! Thanks so much for watching this video & helping reach 5.3K followers! You rock!!!✨💙I hope this answered your questions you've been asking about Milliput or inspired you to try something new with sculpture. I'll be back to my usual stories about making horse and animal art in all sorts of art media soon!
