Massive. What a great piece! This was well executed, the chords were great, properly synthed and knobs+ faders appropriately twiddled. Thanks for that sound!
I saw everything there was to see in the online environment, as a demonstration video with Super Gemini... this was the only video that convinced me to buy this U.D.O Super Gemini. You should be hired by U.D.O to present their products. I ended up in the situation of asking U.D.O for a presentation video of S.G (because online I could only find dummies) ... they sent me 3 videos, I got even more annoyed, no one sings anything, only pads and chords strange, emotionless...NOTHING. I wanted to give up dreaming of S.G. But after about 2 weeks I found this video and that was it :) I would like to see something similar from you with S.G...the song and everything you did in this video blew me away. Congratulations Dave! PS: I sent this to U.D.O: This is the video and the man who convinced me to buy S.G - Dave Mackay After long searches and viewings of the Super Gemini product, I couldn't find anything I liked, I had to give up wanting to buy S.G This is how more presentations of U.D.O. products should be made ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3HhrlS6YoI0.html&start_radio=1&rv=b-a8FSHC5n0
One follow-up question! I’m curious if you remember what your signal chain was when recording with the Gemini? I’m running directly into an Apollo Twin X and getting a relatively low signal output. Any special sauce you’d recommend on the way in to the interface? Thanks a bunch!
Mack the Knife, VERY nice set! "Zodiac," "Light Manoeuvre," "Strings," "Classy Brass," all right up my street. Nice to hear this synth do some atonal, as well. So, whata ya think? You remember the Super 6, right? AT that juncture, A) I overcame fear of No Display, but, more important, B) felt like the synth's sonics placed it in a field of ONE. I became distracted for 1 day over the TRIGON, then....2 days over the PolyBrute 12: whatever Arturia. did by way of aftertouch tricks, it's kinda slick, kinda fiddly, but....as my meager little Senses Morph remarked, "Not sure what that is, but That AIN'T MPE." So I quickly returned to SUPER GEMINI as the Ultimate Desert Island Synth. AS in, going to the island and will die there, so better make THE right decision. Do you find the UDO just beyond compare? Seriously, if you could have only one synth, I cannot think of anything that I would consider much of a competitor.; or sound as lovely. Thanks and carry.
Been coming back to this video for months. Such a killer improv. Just received my gemini yesterday. You were definitely one of the reasons I kept my pre-order.
Also listening a second time. I've actually got one of these on the way now, so I've been watching everything again. This is one of (if not) my favorite Gemini tunes.
I had the Udo Gemini for little over a month and the amount of creativity it unleashed is just insane. Made a track featuring 80% of Udo sounds and based on reaction to it, so far my most "visible" track. Might have a reason to finally let go of Juno 106
Incredible. Probably my 4th time returning to this video for a relisten. Sure the synth sounds fantastic, but the real gem is that composition, it could have made a rhythm wolf sound good.
great sound and even greater playing! thats what i usually miss in synth tutorials/reviews. someone who can actually play their instrument in a musical way
Hey Dave! Quick question-- I'm following along (Also downloaded these from your site) and for some reason whenever I set the frequency amount to 1 step or 1/4 step it sounds much faster than what you have here. Any thoughts on what that could be?
Nice! Especially to hear non pad sounds. I mean, yeah, the Gemini is obviously a monster pad machine. But your bass and percussion sounds also sounded pretty nice. Good job 👍
