So after 2003 quality started to decline because of encrotching government interference? Fual management issues started to pop up? Planned obsolecense couldn't be controlled because soon after 2008 was about to happen? Look i'm not a mechanic or an engineer but it's weird that this died off with the times as vehichles became more complicated and tended to have more maintanence cost. Nowadays we have the right to repair laws and stuff exemplifying the result of the times.
The Golden era of Chevy obs truck because like a Rock my friend long live the Chevy obs trucks huge fan and owned one 1997 obs Silverado aka grandpa truck
02 Silverado in the drive-way my grandfather ordered brand new in 01 and used on the farm till the day he died. 413k miles on it and dad still drives it to work every single day. 13 Sierra with 305k miles on it that im driving to work everyday. Besides basic routine maintenance, all I have done is replaced 2 sets of wheel hubs and installed an AFM disabler.
My 04, Chevy suburban treats me like crap, never gets me anywhere without having to be topped off with coolant, ac blows hot no matter what, And the trans is acting funny. I love Chevy Trucks💪.
I just got a 97' short bed 5 speed manual with rear airbags and a leather interior that im gonna restore with my dad this summer. And these commercials only excite me more. And the ads weren't wrong, the only part of the truck that has bad rust is the bed which we'll fix the right way.
Proud to say I was a commercial film crew member, on set PA, for the motor trend truck of the year commercials and a few others. Legendary Director Steve Horn Productions NYC. A Great day at work was in 1997 at an old wide open airfield, and the Chevy techs. and Execs.on set, Strongly encouraged us crazy crew guys to test drive the new trucks (with the new Vortec engine) at the end of the day, as hard as we could LOL! You never seen drag races and burnouts with pickup trucks, like us that day! Good times. We were impressed. I currently own a 2002 Yukon with 235K Mi. and a 98 Z28 LS1 with 225K Mi. both still running strong!
This was a weird time. American cars were not all too great and Toyota / Honda was dominating in small / midsize cars. But the pickup trucks from the Americans were built like simple tanks.
If Chevrolet made an hour long feature film with their trucks ripping through mud, over jumps and doing work while playing Like A Rock and that voice saying how fantastic they are, I'd pay money to watch it in the theatre.
GM haas been pretty quiet as far as advertising since they have openly supported far left ideology. They used to be for the working man but unfortunately they're just another bought out company.
What I remember from these commercials was that the whole country was happy at least much happier than most are today. Life was easier and definitely more affordable.
Rare video of my favourite car brand. Made this video on Chevy Vintage 1956 pickup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BbdhAGfxX2w.htmlsi=FtOxwkLhs_L4FQBS
