Is it best to use a special cord that's made for this or will most cording work as long as it has some slippery quality to it? Just curious. I did this years ago but like 30 and I've gotten rusty so needed a review. This is great help to a foggy brain.
I am wondering if a swivel base like the one you used in this video, could be put on a new recliner that does everything but swivel. I would so much appreciate if you could just give me a little idea if in you’re opinion be done. Thank you.
Not this easy when you have to stretch the spring to connect it to both attachment points. I just did this to a La-z-boy rocker recliner. I used an Irwin quick grip bar clamp to stretch the spring. Made it fairly easy. Very little blood was spilled. 😆
Excellent tutorial...no chatting, no mucking about! Straight to it and now I can manage a button placement AND know what a slip knot is to boot! 👏👏👏👏❤️
How do you stretch the spring so as to reach the other side when you have inserted the first end? I have been trying everything. (Sorry I am only a woman with not enough strength in my hands)
you can either use a ratchet strap or enlarge the spaces in between the S's and once you tuck it into its place, tighten it back by squeezing with a plier. be careful, the other end may snap
The background music is terrible a description would be better also tell us the name of the things you’re using and where you can find them I was able to use this video to accomplish most of it but the knot at the back I had to get from somewhere else much easier with one knot I could have done a better tutorial
Helping people re-attach those annoying loose tufting buttons for over a decade now. That's a bigger contribution to society than most people make in a lifetime. Thanks for the slo-mo lesson!
Hi. Can you maybe help me out. I have an original parker knoll 988. The webbing still in tact but the springs dont really hold well. Problem is the chair opens in an angle so I'm not sure if i need to buy the same size springs or multiple sizes to fit the widening gap. Any idea? Thanks for the great video
Hi thanks for the feedback. Further to your query I have referred it to Sulkhan Kidnadze of Q-Style Upholstery who responds - "He doesnt have to buy multiply sizes. The spring should have the cover on it with foam. Or the springs should go into the cover, when they seat on it it doesn't allow the spring to move. Would be nice if he can send the pictures.." Sulkhan was an upholsterer at Lynplan Upholstery and features in other 2 Minute Guide videos. He can be contacted on info@q-styleupholstery.co.uk His website is www.q-styleupholstery.co.uk Kind regards.
