Such great trails ! Where are these ? Trail riding is my passion and i have always wished i could try the distance conditioning. There are never enough miles in tbe saddle. Two 28 year old geldings here in Nova Scotia, so only one hour rides.
Brilliant. This has got to be your most stunning trail to date on film. Well done Olivia and Paris, Lyn could do with some of your energy 😅 only done 3 1/2 MLS today walk and trot and I was knackered 😂 the horse I was riding acting a bit like Paris them side spooks can be something else. Kohl and Paris are looking good. So enjoy watching your videos but I am still jealous of the trails you can ride🤗
Thank you Susan. It was a stunning day and I so wish everyone had access to beautiful places like this. At least you be assured I never take it for granted! Watch yourself with those side spooks. And hey/hay…another 3 1/2 miles is 3 1/2 more miles than you had yesterday!
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. So happy one popped up in my feed three weeks ago. It is very impressive how dedicated you ladies are to the discipline of endurance riding. I am a fellow Nova Scotian living in Ontario with my horses. Sometimes while watching, I can almost sense the smell of being in the Nova Scotia woods. Yes, I am homesick. Best of luck on your competition and looking forward to virtually riding with you again.
You are so right! And adding another horse slows things down temporarily but from a long term perspective - having an extra horse in the mix - makes so much sense. When your goal is a 100 miles, long term perspective helps increase the odds!
Love your videos. Of course I don’t know Azim, but it seems like SJ is a little bit hard on him. Also, I was wondering, how is Olivia related to you guys?❤❤🎉🎉😊😊
Thanks! I was thinking the other way around, on that particular ride, Aziim was a bit hard on SJ! Olivia is a student learning about distance riding with us.
You can attach rider bells on saddles! They have a pleasant sound and warns the wildlife you're coming! Although the 3 of talking are probably warning the wildlife for miles 😂😂
Looking good ladies, you always look like you're having such a good time, would love to ride out with you😀 the horses are looking so smooth. Spirit tipping the bucket so funny " what no feed well I'm not interested" 😂 what is the watch you're wearing Lyn is it something all endurance riders use?
Hi Susan! We are having a good time and sharing makes it even more fun! The watch is a garmin Forerunner...versions of this type of watch are used by a lot of endurance riders. Mostly it was created for runners, I think. PS: Spirit cracks me up too!
Thanks for your reply will have a look for one, at the moment I use the equilab app but was after something different that doesn't require your phone. Love your bids 👌
Aziim is great! We meant to explain and forgot… I wanted to be behind Olivia for a few rides so I could see what was going on with her and Paris. Aziim is not great at leading. Spirit is great at leading. SO SJ was riding Spirit. Aziim is super fit so we aren’t worried about him missing a few rides. He will probably be back next video! Olivia is having fun isn’t she! She’s a pleasure to ride with. Happy trails!!
I just love your videos! Y’all are so much fun. I don’t watch the shorts, I😂 much prefer the longer videos. Good luck with your next endurance ride.❤❤😊
Hey Lynn, love your channel. I've just started my own channel & wondered if you film all of your video's on the GoPro or your phone? I can't get mine to take up the full screen :( Happy trails from Tania Banek xx
We are really enjoying each other and the horses, and sharing the experience! We needed a situation where I could be behind Olivia on their first trail ride to see what's happening so that meant SJ had to go in front and that would be very difficult with Aziim. So SJ traded him in for the day!
Such a good team ladies. Love the banter between you it's so funny how you sing to scare of deer and bears here where I ride it's to scare the pheasants😅. Hope you are taking us along on your next competition enjoy following along.
We definitley hope to take you on our next competition! We do have one place where we ride that we call "pheasant alley." Just fix your posture and expect the horses to shy/spook cause its going to happen. Haven't ridden there in a while. Probably next spring. I will be sure to point it out!
Love watching these while my ribs heal up ... and, no, didn't sprain them riding, sprained them taking a hard fall on a hike! Thanks for another extraordinary ordinary video!
@@fizzyizzy8261 well shoot fizzyizzy. I thought I just loaded that and set it to go up tomorrow! Oh well. Glad we could help out😊I love hiking too. Glad it didn’t happen while riding!
I’ve never done endurance, tho I’ve ridden in many other disciplines. This shit actually looks so fun! Like cross country but way longer and slower paced. Are there typically small schooling shows for this or do you have to find a trainer to really get into it?
It is so fun! Local shows depend on where you live. Try the aerc.org website. Lots of info there. I didn’t have a trainer - just a couple of good books and aerc reference material. One thing I would say is that the advice to start with the horse you have. Is good advice. You do not need an Arab especially at first with the smaller miles. We have competed on a draft/warm warm blood mix and had a ball. Just had to manage him differently. Good luck. Have fun!
Congratulations!! I’m so glad I found your channel! You bring relaxation and excitement, pretty horses and scenery, and knowledge about the sport! I appreciate it all, as I’m hoping to get into endurance once my peanut of a Lippitt is mature enough to back! (That’s looking like spring when she turns 4.) The slipped stirrup is scary, well done, and what a good pony!!
Thanks Kelly! I love that you called your horse a little peanut! I’m glad you found us too. Thank you for responding to an earlier comment put up by someone else. We aren’t going to worry about them - we are going to enjoy all the beauty and love that this sport brings into our lives! Ride on!
You should take a few minutes to educate yourself. In most of the world, endurance riding is held to a set of standards, that include regular in depth vet checks. A horse who has any injuries, GI issues, equipment rubs etc, or who show exhaustion, are pulled from competition immediately. Even a horse finishing in first place can be pulled at the final vet check if their horse isn’t deemed “fit to continue”. Because of that, there is actually NO benefit to pushing your horse beyond their capabilities. The motto for American endurance riding is To Finish is to Win. Because of this mindset, endurance riding is the best, healthiest, and most natural horse sport there is. I’ve ridden dressage, western, and jumping, and none of them compare to the care and consideration these horses’ mental and physical well being get, in day to day care as well in training.
